OMG you warrior girls are a hoot!....Benny Good for you, 1 down, and it wasn't so bad. Get some deserved sleep, I hope you have minimal SE and can get out and see Diamond soon. After yesterday's chemo, I was out driving our 3500 dodge diesel truck alone today...no problem. I love your wig, it's beautiful.

    p

Traii, your DH sounds like he has a fun sense of humour!! That does help,

Edith after the hair starts to go it may be best to just shave it off, it really is a relief when it is gone as it seems to come with so much anticipation, it's the worst part, but once it's done as a warrior you can do anything!!..and it really isn't as bad as we all thought it would be, it is a blip in our time, it will grow again. I am having indigestion today the doc gave me a prescription for Ranitidine, it works great and fast...I just took one.

Lifie and Dakota glad to see your doing well and getting some exercise in, it really helps you feel in control. It helps pump oxygen to our brains and OMG we need it, lol.

Dakota to bad about the D***H....I sure hope you have some loving people around you.

Edith I am going to buy your book!!

Have a super Friday Warrior girls!! ((HUGS)) to everyone!!

Just keep drinking a lot today and the next few days, Benny. All that liquid will make you feel bloated,  but that will flush out the drugs quickly and lessen the side-effects considerably. The metal taste will be there for a few days. During this time I drank a lot of flavoured lowfat milk - vanilla, chocolate, banana, other flavours - bought and kept in the fridge. It gives sustenance, tastes good and is easy to just grab when you feel like it. Small joghurts and fruit cups were also a life saver. Also made chicken noodle soup in advance which I could just heat up. The Decadron (steroid against allergic reaction) will also make you feel under the weather and may give you a red face. Hang in there. If the rest of us got through it, you can too, warrior sister!

I'm buying Edith's book too! At what point is this going to get worse? My stomach is growling alot and I feel a wee bit nauseous but completely manageable. Have a bit of a headache but not bad. Just very tired and weak. Do we need a mascot for our Warrior girls club?

Yes Liefie, I have an entire flat of Greek yogurt because I thought it would be so convenient. I also have a flat of Gatorade and water so am drinking as much as I can. Not sure I'm up for a walk as I'm really unsteady on my feet. I also have Boost High Protein drinks but will use those in the morning, not too close to bed time.

Okay, going to drink some more water and crawl into bed with Benny.

Benny, this too will pass. You are doing really well. Try and have a restful nights sleep. Plenty of fluid, if you don't  I think you will get a headache. Flush the chemo through. Have you eaten ? You might not feel like anything but hunger will also cause bloating i.e. gas and headache. Something light, like cereal may help. Cuddle down with little plush toy and dream of Diamond. :-)

Liefie, Hair story fabulous ! We have got to find humour in this to prove it hasn't got us beaten. Bless you.

DH switching off things and yawning think time to hit the sack. Little hat to keep hair in place a little longer. I look like a flaming elf !!

you've been through an ordeal Benny, wer are so proud of you getting through your first treatment like a true warrior girl :)  so go with the flow, don't fight sleep I say -- just fight this bitch of a C !

Glad to hear you've slept and feel a little better.

Metal taste lingers so take lemon drops as Edi had suggested to me and try gargling salt and water ... to hopefully try to avoid mouth ulcers .

Liefie, I did that too....sitting on the chair relaxing about to get my first 'hit' of my drug and I'm like mind over matter, kill kill kill .... go everywhere and kill kill any left over so and so's there is !!

( I use to say that in the radiation machine in 1997! )

Bearcub, DH does have a great sense of humour, lucky  I know after all these years how to take him because he is a hoot at times :)

Edi, I need the hoover at work with me today; whats annoying the crap out of me is those strands of hair that get caught in your top on your back.....It's not like I can just take off my top and pluck away at those strands of hair ...arghhhhhhh !! I'm the only one to answer phones and I can't be running to the loo to take off my top..... oh my, if it's not one thing running to the for it's loo, ...lol gotta laugh it off while I sit here with a ruler scratching my back and making sure that my hairs not in the way so I don't tug at that !!!

Sleep well fellow warriors while I sit here for another hour itching, can't wait to get home and pluck these hairs from my top.....

@bennymuffins, I have had major gas/bloating/belching since I started chemo. My onc told me this is because the chemo meds affect the cells of the intestinal lining.

Traii, second post, 1st vanished.! 3 in the morning here in the land of the beatles. Can't sleep :-(  Came down for cup of warm milk and a choc bic :-)

If you have IKEA where you are they sell a sticky tape type clothes brush. Good handle which might reach up your back or over shoulder to pick those stray hairs up. Keep away from rest of hair of course.

Had house apart looking for soft sleep cap DH bought me weeks ago. Put it somewhere safe nd of course so safe I can't find it. lol got little cotton thing on instead to contain fall out.

Carlads, You are already a warrior sister !! You are fighting the BC bxxxh. Surgery will destroy her and further treatment mop up any stray troops. Sheild up head down and charge. We are  your rear guard in case you falter.

Think warm milk done the trick.

    night night.

    Ok warrior sisters,

Today we are all in a beautiful lush green valley resting from our latest battle. Benny came back from scouting for us on her beautiful steed Diamond. The chemo tribe had attacked her and she returned exhausted. We have placed her in a soft warm hammock with lots of fresh spring water to refresh her.

Dakota has joined us after travelling from the black hills, we are building her up for her impending battle with the BC Bxxxh.

Liefie is running around the camp collecting fuel for our fire this evening. She puts us all to shame with her energy.

Traii and I are sitting waiting patient ly for bearcub to come and shave off our falling locks with her dagger blade  ( electric to avoid infection ) We are jealous of the halo of curls erupting from under her headdress. Be gentle please bearcub.

Curveball is staying away from any naked flames as are we all right now. A sudden trump of gas could send any of us into outerspace !!

Think that we have inflicted some serious damage to BC bxxxh but we are collecting our weapons and armour, cleaning and sharpening them all. Slapping on our war paint and preparing for the next battle.

On the far horizon we can see the glint of the armour of new warriors who have heard of us being brought here by the rest of our tribe. Put that pot on the fire sisters and get out the tea and biscuits lot of hugging to do.

Hop e above didn't offend any one. getting into the mood for my book. lol.

Just been out with my BC buddy to our local pub. from 8 am to 11.30 they serve a full English. bacon egg, sausage, tomato, black pud and beans "parp" hot buttered toast,   pot of tea or coffee. £ 2.50 GBP !! It never hit the sides on the way down. as my Mum used to say lol.

That's me full to bursting nothing more until this evening.!!

Most I have eaten for weeks and it was gorgeous. Lady who cooked has a rare form of pelvic cancer which affects her bladder, bowel and vagina. She is fighting like us and has a smile that lights up a room. Hugs all around and another friend found.

Hope you all have an amazing Friday. Gotta get these cupboards tidied up. :-( Might just chuck contents in wheelie bin lol.

Will check in later to see what u have all been up to.

Mmmmm, the fresh spring water is lovely, Edi. There was also some strawberry yogurt there and High Protein Chocolate Boost, but the cat ate part of that. No worries, I got some down before he stuck his paws in it. Still a wee bit nauseous, fatigued, and gassy (Curve, I hear ya!). Slept pretty good, despite numerous trips to the bathroom! Not sure if I'm riding Diamond today. She can feed on her bag of carrots, apple crunchies and molasses cookies and rest up for our next trip.

Does anyone remember a song by Melanie? This is what I'm singing this morning, altho' I've changed the words a bit....

Look what they've done to my veins, ma

Look what they've done to my veins

They were the only things that worked well for me and they've messed them up but good, ma

Look what they've done to my veins!

Benny, you sound great !! I visit bathroom about 3-4 times every night, still drinking lots of fluid. Sure that helped me feel so well so quickly. Good for you getting  nourishment. Hope you get to see Diamond, just do a little, rest a little, for a few days and you will feel great. The anti-sickness pills made me bit lightheaded and i walked like I had downed a bottle of whiskey ( I wish ! ) When they were finished just felt better and better. Hope you do too.

Love the song !! Going to sing that on way home Tuesday.

    ((hug))

Benny, so glad to hear you are doing so well, and even feel up to singing. That picture of the warrior girl that you posted earlier says it all - keep on marching and slay the dragon!

Edith, I love your story, and there's definitely literary talent there! Sounds like something from Middle Earth - it seems Frodo can appear any moment! Don't know if I really have that much energy, but I will happily collect the wood if that is my job. I absolutely love camping and campfires, so it is right up my alley. How did you know?

Hi Liefie, so glad you liked the story.I just try to tune in to people and I really saw you happily gathering wood with a look of pure delight on your face.

I could just see us all and had to put it down on paper. The valley we were in was so real too. I may get out my charcoals and have a bash at drawing the scene in my head !

I am a Reiki practitioner and as part of the sessions visit in my mind, another beautiful place which I now know like the back of my hand. My clients can describe it to.There is no explanation ,but it is a special place just like the warrior sisters valley.

I just feel it is like a fairy tale for grown ups and none of us are ever to old for that are we ?

My family all think I am a bit strange,  Now you all will think so too. lol.

Edi, I love the warrior girl valley! It is a place of peace and rejuvenation, hidden away from our enemies. Lush green valleys, tall trees and thick foliage. Of course my version has a pasture for the giant plush toy, but she tends to hang out with the warrior girls anyway. ~sigh~

On the ugly reality side of the world, I have no appetite. It is a serious effort just getting a small container of yogurt down. I took one bite of banana and zipped it back up. Will try a fried egg sandwich for supper and see how that goes. Must eat something but yuck. I am getting water down at least.

Benny, it is all horribly normal how you are feeling. The thought of food made me gag ! I have bought some yoghurt drinks for next week, hope i can face them. The fluid intake more important, you are doing really well.

You have the valley perfectly ! and of course Diamond has the lushest pasture ever.It is lovely to have somewhere to escape to at the moment isn't it ?.

Might try fried egg butty too sounds yummy. Appetite will come back soon, I have eaten more so far today than I usually eat in a week. !

You will soon be out of the hammock and scouting for the enemy. (( HUG ))

Curveball,  didn't want to go into too much detail " parp " my DH tells me not to stand too near our open coal fire. LOL.

Bearcub, glad you could see it al tool.Could do with the electric dagger right now. Had hair clippered really short a week ago but scalp really sore today :-(  Hair still there, but will be relieved when it goes. Like all things BC the waiting is the worst part.

Benny's picture is fantastic I am taking it with me to next attack by chemo tribe on Tuesday.

Sure your inner beauty is just like her. Mine too but the wrinkled version lol.

Sweet dreams warrior sisters, see you in our valley.

Edith, I don't think you're strange at all. I think you are imaginative, playful, clever, witty, humourous, positive, upbeat, and loads of fun to be with, even if it's only here in cyberspace. I feel privileged to have met you. One can hardly believe you are going through chemo yourself, and you are exactly what many of us here need - a fresh breath of air to brighten up the day! What a spirit!

Benny, eating can be tough the first few days. Don't worry too much if you can't get much down. I basically only had flavoured milk and water; as long as you drink enough. That is the most important part. You can (and will!) eat again later and make up for it when you feel better. Hugs to you!

    Happy weekend warrior girls!

Edith, loved the story!  I can just see it all.   :-)   Benny, so glad you made it through.  The first one is always the hardest, mentally, because of not knowing what to expect.  I have to admit, though, the second one was harder for me afterward.  No idea why.  I have been generally strong and positive though this whole scary thing but for some unknown reason I really crashed about 3-4 days after chemo #2.  Basically just wanted to lay down and cry, or maybe give up, it was awful and so unlike me.   :-(    About 10 days out now and starting to feel more normal.  But that was just really weird.

Hi warrior sister Jennie, I am on second chemo on Tuesday and have a feeling that I could be similar to you. It is not easy to be all bright and bubbly all the time and think I might crash into that wall maybe the end of next week. Have heard that second one may be the bump in the road. I am eating lots of fruit and other healthy stuff to build up energy.Glad to know you have picked up.

Bearcub, many thanks to you too.

Hair feels as if about to literally lift off this morning ! lots of loose hairs in sleep cap too. Luckily as it is now really short will just spray with heavy duty hair gel, pat into place and pray that it survives afternoon out with tiny GD.lol

My ED told her that Nana's hair may be gone soon for a little while, her other Nana my BC buddy has just got hers back so she is almost used to this "When will mine fall out Mummy" was her reply. Of course ED reassured her straight away but said the little angel didn't seem bothered anyway !

Hope you are ok, let us know when those curls start to appear.

Benny, Hope things improving ? If you don't feel up to leaping about yet, just pamper yourself. Lovely bubble bath. Lots of moisturising lotion. Really comfy but little bit glam lolling about clothes. Eat little and often. Catch up with mail and phone calls and the warrior sisters . Before you know it another day nearer feeling normal. (( HUG ))

Now all you girls have a lovely Saturday, will check back later. x
