I had a really good time with Galsal tonight.  And for those who saw her only a few weeks post-op in July, be assured she looks GREAT these days.  I am very happy to see her so much more recovered.  Come November 10 and see for yourself!

Hi!  I'm over in St. Pete.  Is this the right thread for the Tampa Bay group getting together on November 10th?

    Cool

    Welcome Omeggo!

One page back we planned another lunch Nov 10th at the Cheeesecake Factory at International Mall by the Tampa airport. It was great last time so we're going there again.  Probably meeting up about the same time..11:00 ish so we can get a good table for all of us.  Some of us did a little shoppping/browsing afterwards.  Shells43 knows the little store I'm going to want to go back to!!

    Hope you'll join us!

Thanks, Lee7.  Time and place duly noted.  Somehow, I don't think the group will be hard to find!!!  Thanks again for the invitation.

Omeggo, so another Fl. person has joined our ranks. Nice to meet you. Not sure I will be able to make the get together on the 10th or not, but sure wish I could. Will be up on the 8th to see my Onc for my 6 month visit. I'm about 2 hours south of you in Punta Gorda.

Welcome, Omeggo. I hope to be able to join you all on the 10th. I asked off from work already for the 9th to go to another concert, but I will be there if I can.

Hi! May I join you? I already put it tentatively on my calendar when you first discussed it. I knew a couple of you from TE Trouble thread last year, and met with SpecialK. I'm between DIEP stages now -- will finish at NOLA in Dec.

    Hi all!

AA - Hello!  How are you doing?  I will be there on Nov. 10th too, so there will be a familiar face!

SpecialK -- excellent, it will be so good to see you again and meet our other locals. Smile DH will take me there and browse the mall, or we both will before & after lunch.

Kira....maybe you'll feel like coming up again on Sat? I know the drive is a long one but it would be great to see you.  Tell your hubby the mall has some really good sales going on.

    Hi AnnAlive, welcome !!

Special K, Glad to hear you can make the 10th now too!!

Galsal, great new picture. I'm glad you've recouperated! cheesecake does wonders, doesn't it.  :)

DLL66, I finally decided and ordered a Lymphediva sleeve. If I get it in time I'll be wearing it.

When it gets closer we'll have to get a count so we can make a reservation again for a table. Might be a good idea to ask for one on the bar side where we all ended up sitting. Less chance of having a screaming toddler nearby.

I would love to come up, but I will be there Thursday to see my Onc. I'm sure my DH would think another day is not a good idea. I would take another day off of work but we have a field trip Friday.

Lee7, great idea about avoiding the noisy children section :)  What pattern did you end up choosing for your sleeve?

Looking forward to meeting you both, AnnAlive & Omeggo.

Omeggo -- "good chemo" to you -- as good as it can be. You may want to read about and talk to your onc about supplements to take to help reduce taxane/Taxotere SEs, such as neuropathy if you get it. Mine said Vit B6 and ALA (and prescription Neurontin), which I took and didn't see improvement, but others have. I'm over a year PFC and still have mild neuropathy, which was mild all along. See you in Nov!

DLL66- There were just too many to choose from so I went with a green/white pattern "Island Escape" because it was on sale! Still waiting for it to arrive.

Omeggo, will be thinking of you on Tuesday. There are quite a few threads about preparing for chemo perhaps you can read up on.   :)

Looking forward to meeting everyone on the 10th!

Hi again from me in St. Pete.  I am reading a lot about taking Clariton before the Neulasta shot.  Do you mind helping me here? What is your experience?  The nurse at my 'chemo ed' on Friday seemed a little unclear (or didn't know) and I won't see my MO until Tuesday (Day One).

Just a couple of basic questions. On Day One I start Taxotere and Cytoxan.  Do I take the Clariton on Day One to prepare for the Neulasta shot on Day Two?  Or do I wait until the morning of Day Two?  Also, how lmany days after the Neulasta shot did you take Clariton?

I'm getting varying information about when to take it for the first time and how long to take it.

Since I'm a nervous wreck about it all, thanks for any input. :))

I'm sure some one will speak up.  No chemo for me so I can't help.  All the best to you and we'll see you soon!

Hello Florida ladies!  I am SO glad to see this thread before you meet again for lunch! (The last two times, I saw the other thread after you had already met for lunch. Both times it was after the fact and I was disapointed to have missed out.)  I would really like to come join you for lunch.

Hi Omeggo, I wish I could give you the right info but I don't have any experience with it.  Hoping one of the other Tampa gals will see your post and be able to tell you what they did and how it helped.        Hang in there!

Omeggo, I was told to have the Clariton on hand and to take it for the bone pain if I needed some relief.  The bone pain is usually the day after Neulasta.  I had some (large-bone, thighs and pelvis) bone pain after the first shot, but I did not have pain with the remaining shots.  Hope you are as lucky.

Also, Morton Plant has two ladies cancer support groups one at Countryside and one at Clearwater.  It is all types of cancer, but when I went it was predominately breast cancer patients.

Omeggo, I had 8 injections of Neulasta and my experience was much like FLWarrior's.  I had very mild large bone pain, mostly in the legs, after the first injection and no pain at all for the remaining 7.  I had the Claritin on hand but never needed it.
