Rita Addison bus sucks. There are several ways to go. Check out the trip planner on the CTA site. Look on the lower right side of the site where it says "Plan a trip": http://www.transitchicago.com/ Notice you can choose either arrival or depart time. Most of these have you take a bus. You can take the red line too but it might be a little walk. In the end the red line could be faster.

Rita - I just sent you a PM with links for Metra. One other option is to walk from Union  Station over to Quincy and Wells and take Brown line L to Belmont and then walk over to Addison and Clark.  Depends if you like to walk. That option avoids buses.

Spunky:  I work for a large insurance company that sells Med supps and Medicare advantage plans.  Lots of times, we get a "group" contract, which means I have to present the retirement insurance to all the retirees.  (PS--I worked at Social Security for 15 years for Medicare is my "thing".)

Thank you gals. I'll try to search through your suggestions here and see what works best for us. The reason we suggested Schaumburg is because we want to go to the golf place in the mall there when the game is over but it's not imperative that we park at Schaumburg. The store is called the PGA superstore. Is there any other place in that general area that would even be easier for us?

    A beloved repeat today:

    Choose Inner Peace.
Nothing is worth losing your inner peace.
    Take action as circumstances require,
but never surrender your inner peace.
    Stop. Breathe deeply.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply again.
Then, and only then, take action -
    from a peaceful heart.

Rita-hope you had fun and found an easy route

Karen-you must be a wealth of information.  I always get the "when/how" questions about soc. sec. and I can't do anything but send them to the soc sec website-which I've heard is phenomenal.

    Jackie-good news about the rain.

Hope everyone is enjoying the 3 day weekend!

Spunky:  I am an information junkie.  I have over 1100 clients--all based on referrals.  It pays to know stuff.  LOL

Normally I would not be posting more than likely but just got notification that Marybe is in a coma from heart failure and has been taken out of ICU and will now be cared for b Hospice.  She was doing fine, and making improvements.....it was even being said that her cardio Dr. didn't actually think she had congestive heart failure going on...........and that could well be the case.

I'm so hopeful that there will be a miracle ( Marybe has always been so very strong ) but it is very cautious hope.  There have been people who reversed their need of Hospice help, but what will be, will be.  I deeply believe there is a time and season and nothing much changes that......but I will always hope unless hope becomes impossible.

    Hugs, Jackie

I'm so sorry to hear about Marybe. That's not what we wanted to hear. My thoughts will be with her. Thanks for the info Jacki We made it into the city fine. We chose the blue line out of Rosemont and rode the bus from Addison. Met several interesting people on the bus!!!! Thanks for your help. It was a good day but we didn't like the outcome of the game.

I'm really hoping for a miracle for Marybe. I was out all day and did not expect this given she was doing so much better yesterday.

Happy Labor Day all! I hope you have a chance to indulge in the spirit of the holiday and do NO WORK today!!!

Rita~ Glad to hear you made it to Wrigley.  There are lots of "interesting people" in Chicago Wink  Sorry about the outcome.

camille~ where DO you find these pictures?  Thanks for keeping me laughing.

I went off the pain meds yesterday.  The drain site seems to be causing me the most discomfort.  And just one other spot near the sternum when I stretch.   Overall, not bad but of course, I can't wait to get this drain OUT!!!  Embarassed

Have a great day all!  CC

I presume most of you already know, but just in case.....Marybe passed peacefully away this afternoon just after 1 o'clock.  She will be missed by so very many.  She seemed always to be living life full out.  God bless her and  and my prayers to all the rest of her family and loved ones.

    Hugs, Jackie

kjiberty - Congrats!  I tried to vote for you, but I'm not sure if it worked.

HeidiDisney - It's always nice to meet another Heidi, but not this way.  Maybe when we get though this we can have drinks and giggle over all the "my German Shepard growing up was named Heidi!" stories we've heard over the years.

C-Squared - It's easier to ditch the pain meds than the f***ing drains!

I've been avoiding things lately, as if that will make it all go away or be not real somehow.  I start chemo on Thursday and I'm terrified!  I have been have hideous nightmares (the chemo spurting out of my skin like a slasher movie, and other fun things), baby panic attacks, and walking into things...  I know once I do the first one, it will get better (or at least I'll know what to expect).  But I'm just being the ostrich and putting my whole body in the sand and hiding.  This is been made worse because my best friend for over 20 years is freaking out because she has never seen me afraid of anything.

Oy Vey!  But at least I will have time to catch up on the shows with the hot guys that DH never wants to watch????

Just so sorry to hear about Marybe. Keeping her family in my prayers. It is so hard to loose a sister in Pink and another Angel appears above to look over all of us. Heart is heavy.
