AEM, you look great!! Love the color!
I thought I'd share the pic I took yesterday at 11 weeks PFC. I, too, am on Herceptin. I'm not sure if that's really slowing the growth down or not. Hard to tell. I'm using Nioxin shampoo, and after seeing AEM's pics, I think I'll start taking Biotin again (I kept forgetting to take it so I stopped it)!
-
yay Kristin! you look great! going topless?
-
You look beautiful Kristin.
-
Aem and Kristen, how much PFC did you start the biotin?
-
Thank you, ladies!
JP, yep. I've been going topless for a few weeks now. I just can't handle the heat with something on my head and got to the point where I didn't care if anyone stared at me or not.
Nkb, like I said, I kinda quit the biotin because I kept forgetting to take it (it says to take with a meal and I always take my other meds at night, so the timing wasn't lining up for me, lol). I think I tried starting it at about 4 weeks when the hair started coming back in.
-
Kristin...you and AEM look very similar...you could be related. I don't see why either of you needs any more hair cause you are both stunning as you are! I do really understand you want your "normal" look but many of us ( I basically mean ME) don't look that good with all our hair.
-
I just want to say, following on from schatzi14's comment, that it's maybe a bit of a revelation how damn beautiful we can look without a big long hairdo. When I went bald, I actually quietly thought to myself that I looked kind of cute. And you ladies who have posted your PFC pics here are in fact gorgeous. Isn't it kind of nice after years of fretting over hairdos and product and whatever, to discover that our beauty isn't actually in our hair?
Having said all that, I'll do a 360 and say that I can't wait for this patchy fuzz to fill in, and my eyebrows...oh, that will be nice....
-
Well said KCB!
-
KCB- I agree! When I have seen pictures here of bald or fuzzy heads the faces look beautiful to me. When I look in the mirror with just a hat, I sometimes look beautiful to myself. My DH thinks I look cute.
I still want hair and eyebrows. Lol -
Thank you. schatzi! You made my day! And I agree with you, KCB -- beauty is not in our hair, but damn, I can't wait for it to grow back!

I am still on weekly taxol. Today ws treatment 10 with Herceptin, two more weeks to go. In the weekly Taxol group I see everyone had hair growth while on Taxol. There is none what so ever for me. Just black dots all over. NO GROWTH. Am I alone. Does everyone have growth on weekly Taxol?? Does this mean I wot have any growth like some on taxotere? Help...
-
hopeful, I was on weekly Taxol/Herceptin and had no growth at all. After that I had AC and lost the little stubble that had remained through Taxol. You're not alone.
-
AEM and KristinFro: YOu both look fantastic and beautiful!
I did two seminars today at a local university. I took my wig off after the seminars and one of my peers (who didn't know I had cancer) said he loved my shorter look and said I should go topless. I am getting braver and braver, using the wig less and less. It's liberating not to have to cover my head.
-
Okay, well because of you beautiful women, I saw your posts and thought, "It's time." I just got home from Kroger grocery shopping and to my local library topless. I've gone without the wig on vacation and in casual settings with family, but today was the first in my area. My librarian didn't recognize me.
I felt freed up! Thanks, ladies for your inspiration!
-
That's GREAT Denise, It was scary for me today but got to tell ya it felt so good to go topless.
-
Yay Denise!
-

-

-
Go, Denise!!
You look great, Kelly!!
-
Thanks ladies....how do you get the actual photo to post here?
-
Kelly, WOW you have a lot of hair. I am 12 weeks PFC and don't have half the hair you have.I am jealous!!! You look fabulous.
-
Big congrats to all of you ging "topless" ! Yay!!! My apologies if this has already been discussed. I am wondering if any of you have been experiencing scalp tenderness as your hair grows back? I know I had a lot of this as my hair fell out, but didn't know it would also happen with regrowth. Is this normal? Thanks!
-
Kristinfro- thanks!! Considering I have a steroid high tonight this is one less thing to be worried about.
-
Dianefights, im 29 weeks pfc tomorrow & my scalp is pretty sore. No hair is falling out at all, so I can only hope its growing so fast that im actually feeling it grow!
-
Kelly! Gorgeous!!
-
Thank you for posting all your pics, Ladies - you are all looking *SO* very fine!
Hubby's encouraged me to go out topless, but I'm not quite ready yet...only wear my wig in public but I'm sure the shock value of folks who know me seeing all the silver that's come in may be a bit unnerving for ME. Am trying to be brave & not get back on that merry go round of colouring/touching up every 3 weeks - we'll see...
One thing I noticed when my hair began growing again was teeny little bumps all over my head, as if the follicles were suddenly thrown into hyperdrive. They've since settle down normally (whatever that may be these days) & my hair is now thick enough at 15 weeks PFC that I can no longer feel my scalp when I run my fingers through my hair. It's all still lying very flat to my head though, but I know that may all change...
Have you seen this video? The ending made me whoop with joy for this woman: -
Hello ladies..new here, everyone looks wonderful. I finished my Chemo on march 20, but I will be on Hercrptin until December. My hair is coming in but slow. I was wearing scarfs and a wig, but as it got hotter I took off the wig. My family encourage me to go "topless" and its very freeing!. Sometimes I forget my lack of hair until I catch sight of me in a mirror or something!. it is coming in with a lot of gray. i am thinking of just keeping it short an this natural color. Its been nice as far as no maintenance! my eylashes are back, but my eybrows are very thin
