Happy heating pad, Blue.  If you don't have tooooo sensitive skin, you can put on a little bengay with a moist pad, washcloth over it, and it creates a seemingly even deeper penetrating heat.  If I put the heating pad directly on ben gayed skin, OUCH, OUCH, OUCH...but the combination of Moist heat seems to help it penetrate...

SO good to know you have found some relief - back pain, well, don't get me started - give DAILY thanks to brilliant neurosurgeons, healing, and JOHN SARNOWink

Wow Yorkie - heard above news at the same time as yours.  I remember the discussion about O giving a person like above health insurance while risking their lives and it being deemed a "political move."  As if no recognition for the risk this special group of feds demonstrates every fire season was possible while visiting Colorado Springs this summer.  I always feel so badly when i see stories like above knowing this person gets no insurance and probably makes $12 a hour tabout.

Sorry..link did not work.  Headline:  Steep Corner, Idaho Fire Death:  Tree Kills USFS Firefighter

When will there be political will in this country to stop letting the NRA shove guns down our throats.

This is and has always been a violent country - we were founded violently. Unfortunately, that legacy is what makes some people think the Second Amendment is a) worth having and b) means an individual can easily own a gun.

I believe weapons should be very hard to own except for hunting.

BTW, remember everyone that we have TWO trolls, not just one. That bridge's seaweed and sludge are VERY well guarded, what can I say.....

Why we have the right to keep and bear arms - Because we never want this to happen here.  Athena, it's not something I wish to debate you here on this forum.  But I suggest you think long and hard about the following.  Let's just leave it at that.

"When will there be political will in this country to stop letting the NRA shove guns down our throats?" Amen, Athena. And apparently one of the people killed was a deputy, who I assume was armed himself. So much for the "if everyone is armed, everyone is safe" theory.

Sadly, I don't think this shooting was a horrific enough one to make the national news except for the fact that we're hyper-aware because of the Aurora one and the one at the Sikh temple. I, for one, am sick of it.

    Roasted brussel sprouts here.

BTW, You would have needed more than a handgun to fight off Hitler.  The Warsaw Ghetto fighters brought in guns and fought, but they were hopelessly outmatched by tanks, flame throwers, and bombs. So, maybe we should have shoulder missile launchers in case the Nazis take over.  Be the first one on your block to have your own shoulder held missile launcher.  I know I want one.   Do they come in colors? I'd like baby blue.

I wonder how difficult it would be to skewer them........the Brussels sprouts I mean. Then turn them slowly over a nice flame on the bar-bee.

Ok, Blue, our convention heretofore known as TCTNT needs a logo?  NO, not a brussel sprout, a real logo.

    Anybody up for the contest?

gone for a day and miss a lot.  Smile

First - men can vacuum.  My hubby is a MUCH better, more patient vacuumer (is that a word?) than I.  He's a better house cleaner in general - the only problem is that he hates it just as much as I do - therefore normally we do it together.  (I'm a better cook, though - but not by much.)

He was a strong advocate of our kids being able to take care of themselves.  Our son is a very good cook (lousy cleaner, but good cook).  Ergo, most of the time he's the cook at their home.

Blue - good luck with the pain.  I've been having too much of it myself lately.

Today is my last day off work - it's back to the meat grinder tomorrow.  bleah  This morning we went fishing and hubby caught a nice little salmon.  Guess what we had for lunch....  Smile  sure am glad he likes to fish....

LOL ... mine notices the dust.  When we first got married he thought it was a good idea to point it out to me because I didn't always notice.  He got over that pretty fast :)

I get away with a lot because he can't cook and loves to eat.  I also make mean apple and pumpkin pies and chocolate chip cookies.

I think the best husband for a woman with BC is a man who will empty her drains, change bandages, wraps her with plastic wrap, so she can shower, is there wrapping a towel around her when she's done, shaves her underarms because it hurts to do it herself, takes time off from work to be with her at each doctor's appointment and kisses her goodnight and says he loves her and that everything will be okay and then puts his arm around her making certain that he's very careful while doing so.  Along with all of that, mine also vacuums, dusts, washes dishes and clothes and would iron if asked.
