Blue, I'm so happy to hear that! I was out all day yesterday and couldn't stop thinking about you. I'm so glad it's arthritis? Or a pinched nerve? Who ever tthought I would be saying that?

Blue .. I am so happy to hear this news. Crying tears of joy and relief with you too. I'm sorry about the arthritis and bulging disc. I know that can be painful.
love you dear friend,
Bren
-
Phew!
Of course back pain still totally sucks.... -
Blue, YABBA-DABBA-DOOOOOOOOO! YES! You are just old and creaky

-
Blue, such great news. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Just got home and went straight to the computer to find out what the onc had to say! YIPPPEEEEE! Good things come in threes: your good news, Ray's new position....what's next? Only good stuff, for sure!
-
Hurrah for Blue and Ray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now you can REALLY celebrate!!!!!!!!!!
-
Excellent news Blue. I know how you feel. I had pain that could have been bone mets a couple of months ago. Turns out it was just degenerative disc disease. Yeah!?!
It is amazing the pain we can deal with when we know it isn't cancer!
Congrats.
-
Great news Blue! My new normal: I love arthritis and slipped discs!
-
YIPPEEE!!! What a relief!! Dancing for Blue!
-
Congratulations to Blue and Ray!!!!!

I just saw the bob cat cross my yard. She has 3 really tiny cubs I would guess out for their first stoll in the neighborhood. Will need to be careful of the dogs when they go out. We don't take them on a lease so they are free to roam the yard. I think they are living in the field next door. I'm gonna try to get some pics to post here.

Blue - What a relief - just turned on my pc and my first thought was I hoped he had called with the results. Thankyou for letting us know quickly.
It's cold this morning, I've got 2 hours before I pick up my tourist

Bren, you're right, I'm sure it won't take long for him to get on my nerves. It's been lovely to have a clean handbasin for the last week.
-
I noticed a little fur ball on the bed with me last night - unfortunately she got off when I woke to go to the bathroom. That's something she hasn't done for a while. I hope I can get her to stay outside while I'm gone today. DH won't be happy to come home and find her inside.

Blue, fantastic news!!!!
Kira, Bobcats??? Yikes, add alligators and other Fla critters to that and I'd probably not spend much time in my backyard. However, I bet they are neat to see. -
Saw a bobcat in my backyard last week. It was trying to ambush the little squirrels I feed. They were lounging on the ground trying to beat the heat and suddenly there it was! I was looking out my upstairs bedroom window, and started to yell bloody murder plus pound on the window glass. Fortunately the little guys scurried up the tree before bobcat got them. Anyway, the bobcat noticed my screaming and pounding and kept looking up the tree and back at me, trying to decide if going after its prey was worth risking a human's wrath. Fortunately he backed off, calmly ran away and jumped over our 5' fence with a single leap. Yee gads, what a scare! Now I can never let my doggie out back again even with me present. That critter was so fast and so big! Plus, it is the second time this year I have seen a bobcat. First time was in our front yard.
-
I feel SO mean - sweet Poppy is sitting outside our bedroom patio doors, hoping I'll let her in. There's sun shining out there, so at least she'll be warm. There is a cane chair there she could get on.
All ready to go, put my magnetic knee strap on in case I take this lady on a bush walk.
Wish me luck - I'm a really good driver but sometimes get a bit nervous if I have to go far.
-
Watched the dressage today. Beautiful horses!
-
yorkiemom,
Bobcats have to eat and feed their babies, too.

-
I know and am torn with conflict over that! But those little squirrels are MY babies!
-
Oh thank God Blue - my stomach has now stopped hurting (that's where I hold my tension). Hope you're going to celebrate again tonight - mop up those happy tears!
Love, Sandy

Whew! Blue, I couldn't pass by here without commenting on your good news... Or, good week, really. Congrats to Ray on his new great new job, and a big otter-hug to you for making it through one of those awful false-alarm tests.
I didn't take notes, and I have plenty of excuses for not remembering all the things discussed upstream; so, in the fine spirit of another thread on this site, I'll shout "That SUX!!!" to anyone who needs it. BTW: As a migrant Southerner, I like my iced tea nice and sweet and my Brussel sprouts well-done.

Hoping the Bobcat gets its takeout in the woods somewhere. The backyard restaurant is closed.

What Chickadee said!

Don't you just love hospital billing screw ups. My DH had his knee replaced in April. The Medicare Summary came this week. I finally opened it. No reason to jump on it because no reason to believe the bills weren't being handled.
So the summary says $83,730.76 in the NON COVERED column. AHHHHHHHHHH! WTF?
Call Medicare: Hospital documentation doesn't support need for surgery and stay. Again, WTF? Bone on bone pain. you don't have a lot of choices, fix it or give him a scooter.
So I have a friend who used to work for this hospital system in the case management dept. and she said, happens all the time. Poor paperwork, bad coding, you name it. Anyway, it's Friday, so next week I know what is on my to do list. Phone time kicking hospital butt.
-
You know, in Michael Moore's documentary, you see how hospitals in developed countries outside the US don't even have billing departments. That's how civilized countries should be.
Don't anybody tell me this is political and not personal.
Good to see an Otter sighting all the way from the plains.
And I think a certain couple deserves a night out to the cinema - blue-ray viewing!
-
So, we get rid of the billing depts. and the insurance people whose sole job it is to find ways to deny claims... How can this not reduce the cost of medicine?
Yorkie - hope the bob cat gets to eat - but somewhere else.
I think we all deserve a cocktail tonight, after yesterday's scare. I'll have a celebratory scotch, straight up.
-
Here's an example of why I love my little squirrel buds. I've been feeding them for awhile, and some have almost become tame. They will come close to me when I'm sitting on the patio or deck and just look and look directly at me. I've had the feeling that they want to jump up and get closer, but none have yet.
After the bobcat scare I started feeding them upstairs on the deck, instead of the patio. My husband and I both saw one right next to the high window, where we like to watch them, up on its little haunches looking directly in the window! We think s/he was looking for us!

Good evening all. Otter, so good to see you again! Now, about hospital billing (aka Accounts Receivable) departments in other countries: Well yes, actually, they are necessary! For example, hospitals in my province -- which receives millions of visitors each year -- bill non-Ontario residents. There are also a few services (private room, TVs), as well as surgeries such as facelifts and other "not medically necessary" procedures, which are billed to the patient. However, hospitals do not deal with insurance companies, and so of course the A/C Dept. is much, much smaller, which equals considerable savings. As for what you might pay if you're an American visitor, here's an example: My American cousin's wife just last month wound up in the Emergency Department after a fall. Three hours, numerous tests, diagnosis and Rx for pain later, my cousin was presented with a bill for $500. He is covered by Medicare, as well as extra private insurance, and will no doubt be able to recoup the cost.
