Things are looking pretty positive. Hopefully I know by the end of the week if I will be able to make it this year... I went on hotwire and got a price of 485.00 with staying at the luxor which is a pretty nice hotel.. Non-stop flight both ways.. Wish me luck ladies.. I miss you all
<3<3... -
Laura!!! I will do my best. I am going to have to just wait and see; do something last minute. Best I can do. I would stay by myself anyway so that's not an issue... just literally not sure my work schedule will permit me time away at that point.
-
Laura....there is no way I would ever set up my phone to refuse calls from you! I wonder if you were calling my old phone number. I will send you a PM with my cell phone number just in case.
-
Just located each of the cell phone cards that Estepp puts together every year. Wow - we went from a small one-sided card in 2009 to a larger 2-sided card in 2010 and then the card doubled in size again for 2011.
Come on gals - let's put Estepp to work this year!
I am not seeing a complete list on the OP of all of the gals coming this year! Get those reservations completed and send the info to Tracey via PM so she can update the hotel list.
-
Just booked my room!!! (Chemo brain almost forgot...) Coming in on Thursday and leaving on Tuesday. Rooming with Stephanie this year (don't tell her about me or she might change her mind
). My dear sister Claudia is going to fly in on Sunday and join us for brunch then we are going to take a couple of extra days to cruise the town - I am excited for her to meet all my other sisters!!! -
The information on my room is not correct at the top. Frosty1 had to cancel and my DH decided that a trip to Vegas to gamble sounded good, so I have a roommate...LOL! Obviously, we don't need a 3rd or 4th.
-
Westie and Colleen -- and anyone else who wants to be added to the list above (or make corrections to it) -- can you please send a PM to TraceyZ? That is the only way it gets changed.
xo

just booked my flight to VEGAS......I will be getting in Thurs afternoon....so I am a Thursday babe this year!!!
-
Christine and I (GramE) will arrive Friday - staying at another hotel.
Idea for "what to wear": t shirt from the city or state (or favorite sports team) for the meet and greet. Since this is my first reunion, I am not sure what activities are planned this year.
Will the Saturday night event be the time for wearing "TaTa" outfits? Thanks for any input on this.
GramE, aka Nancy
-
Many of our attendees opt for wearing dresses on Friday night for the meet and greet (doesn't have to be fancy -- a fun, summertime sort of dress -- though if you want to do it up that works too, since afterward many will follow the meet and greet with a visit to a piano bar spot for dancing).
Ta Ta shirts on Saturday night, yes.
-
Meet and Greet and then dancing at The Venetian Friday night. The piano bar is Saturday night and that is when we were our TaTas T-shirts.
-
That dancing, is that at the LAVO?
Where is the piano bar? Is that the NY NY dueling pianos?
-
SheChirple -- the last few years the Friday night dancing thing has been at a bar in the Venetian which, I believe, is closed for renovation this year (so obviously will be somewhere else).
Yes Saturday night is the Piano Bar at NY NY.
-
Thanks for the dress code info. Looking forward to meeting you all.
-
I adore Friday night dancing at the V. Hubby and I were there a few weeks on business and we walked all over that place trying to find the band. They are in the new wing that runs between the Venitian casino and the convention center. I'll never find it again on my own LOL! We stayed for a set and they are just as great as ever. Gonna be a lot more fun when I can dance with my sista instead of hopping around in my chair since my DH does not dance!
Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting our newbies! -
Hi all - from what I understand, the dance spot we went to at the Venetian has been remodeled into a "club". However, the band we danced to has been moved to another dance lounge in the same hotel (can't remember the name - might be in the Palazzo). Haven't heard from anyone about setting this up for this year. Gisella - any word on this?
-
Just bought my ticket (well only one way so far, but the most important way...the way out to Vegas)!! I am trying to make this trip "budget friendly" so I am interested in a roomie/s. From what I read, the rooms list may not be updated, so please let me know if you are looking for someone!!
-
Anniese - send a pm to Gisella - she is the one coordinating the various events. I read somewhere on this thread or FB that dancing Friday night was "in".
-
Ladies - I am getting pumped! I just went and separated all of my nickles and quarters for Freemont Street!
-
Estepp gives out the cell phone lists at the meet and greet on Friday. In the meantime if you want certain phone numbers then PM that person so you have it ahead of time.
-
Wahooooooooooooooooooooooo sisters.....time is drawing near........again.......those of you who are new........and I can see you have your rooms booked...and/or air booked........PLEASE LOOK ME UP ON FACEBOOK......TELL ME YOUR BCO NAME...........AND I WILL GET YOU ON OUR TATA SISTERHOOD FB. I am....Laura Jambrosic. EASY name to look up.....:)
-
Phone numbers will be given formally in Vegas as Jancie pointed out. Come Sept. 1st......I will be collecting ALL CELL NUMBERS.....wahoooooooooo....more to come.
-
If I book a room, then want a roomie to share cost, how does that work? I would book myself, yes? Then just add a roomie down the road? Can I be matched with a roomie that lives somewhere near me, and by that I just mean I would like to meet the person before showing up in Vegas, maybe even carpool.
-
The link posted shows some "embelllished bras". We could have our own "fashion show" ( like at the pool) but I am not sure this is something the majority would want to do. I have done it for 2 Halloween parties and one Fund Raiser walk a thon. The response was FANTASTIC. I do not mean to offend anyone who may not think this is a fun project. This could be a good "photo op", if someone has connections with the local media. http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/19168/show-your-support-and-embellish-a-bra
-
SheChirple - Room #13 - Westielover and Frosty are looking for 2 more people to share the room.
You can also send a PM to Tracey - she can hook you up in a room.
-
GramE - I couldn't get the link to work.
-
Hi GramE! Looking forward to meeting you this trip!
I'd like to say a word to all our newbies this year. In the past there was some discussion about making our trip more public and "alerting the media", but that's not really what this is all about. Many of us are frankly tired of the pink ribbon/ S.Komen/ kind of thing, and/or very private kind of people. I think most of us just kind of look at this trip as a time to bond with fellow BC sisters who really know what we have each experienced, and are watching our futures together with a careful eye. We come from all walks of life, all stages of BC and reconstruction. Some will wear pink and others will not. The main thread that holds us all together is that we celebrate each other's Now and Tomorrows. We laugh, dance, eat, drink, gamble, laze by the pool, and shop till we drop - all with sisters we never knew we had and never will let go. Welcome to the TaTa Sisterhood!
-
Well said Journey - as always your words are so eloquent.
