Calling all TNs

Off to bed, but I had to comment on your last post, Mags. Well dam, I can have FF, if it's based on belly fat. Just some advice from an old lady with big boobs. (actually plan on having a breast reduction). Gravity is a cruel mistress. When you get old, 42 DD's turn into 42 long!!!!!! Even though I had a LX, I'll be dam*ed if I've gone through this hell and don't end up with a nice new, perky, sporty pair.
-
Julie, I am the same as Riley....49 at dx, my period never came back.
Kathy, 42 long...so funny but so real.
-
Stay safe you gals in Florida. Also for the ladies in the west where the fires are devasting acres and acres everyday.
Prayers to all.
-
Maggie - Thanks for the laugh! I'm in same same boat... D's and a healthy mid section :-). Have fu pn with them!
Need some help ladies.... You helped the Claritin trick. Anything for mouth sores? I rince every 3 hours faithfully, but have so much natural acid in my system that I knew this would be a given SE. Can anyone recommend any other rinse please? Or a food that helps, or anything? All in all I feel pretty good, but I can barely eat today :-( -
Jazzyj- Ask your doctor for a rx for the "magic mouthwash". It's really magic and worked right away on my mouth sores.
-
Jazzyj- talk to your dentist about prescribing Magic Mouthwash. It is a combination of Lidocaine, Milk of magnesia and something else (darn chemo brain). Your MO might be able to presribe it as well. I used Biotene toothpaste and mouth rinse several times a day and never had a mouth sore. Sorry you're dealing with this crappy side effect.
-
Looks like Babs and I were typing at the same time!!
-
Thanks gals! Will ask for the Magic Mouthwash. Kind of annoys me that when I called yesterday, the nurse said to add salt to the baking soda. Even my nostrils and upper lip hurt today. Oh well, could be soooooo mush worse. Thanks again!

-
Jazzyj, also invest in the Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash, helped me prevent mouth sores like Tifj.
-
-
Jazzy - same advice as Tifj, Babs and Naan. Used Biotine toothpaste and mouthwash and was lucky with minimal mouth sores. Pardon my French, but screw that nurse!!!!! Call back and insist on a prescription for Magic Mouthwash. They MO's all know what it is. Also, what did you mean by having to much acid? Just in case someone else needs it, the Nuelasta combo is Claritan24-Zantac-Aleve.
Sad thought as I said every MO knows it. About 10 years ago a friend's teenage son was in the hospital fighting cancer (died about 3 weeks after.). My friend called and one the things she was so upset about was that his mouth sores were so bad he couldn't drink. I asked what they were giving him for them and she said nothing. I didn't know about Magic Mouthwash back then, but I did know one of it's main ingredients. I told her to have the on call doctor call me. When he called I asked him why they were not using viscous Lidocaine to make him comfortable and to help him drink. His answer: "Geeee, I never thought of that". My thought was, You're a doctor in a major children's cancer treatment facility and you never thought of that simple solution???? You need a different career buddy!
-
Jazzy I suffered with mouthsores and still deal with puffy lips at times. Yogurt helps me a lot even though I don't like it. They also gave me Valtrex. Vitamin E capsules break ad put gel on sores also. Hope you get some relief soon.
-
I had biotene and never used it. Onc recommended rinsing with a solution of water and baking soda. That seemed fine, my mouth sores never got bad. Many women swear by club soda - and that's easy too.
-
Damn! I just took a bad fall in the house. Fell on the leg, that I broke the kneecap of last Sept. Huge goose egg on my shin. Luckily I still have my cold water, circulating machine, from that fall. I don't think I've broken anything. Just when I was hoping, to spend less of the day in bed!

Love Karen... Who is pouting -
Hi everyone, sorry but I've been away and then had the in laws visiting. Can't possibly catch up with all.
Love Bernie.
A young girl started work in the village chemist shop. She was very
shy about having to sell condoms to the public. The owner was going on
holiday for a couple of days and asked if she would be willing to run the
shop on her own.She had to confide in him her worries about selling the
contraceptives."Look," he said. "My regular customers don't ask for condoms,
they'll ask for a 310 [small] a 320 [medium] or a 330 [large]. The word
condom won't even be used. The first day was fine but on the second day a huge guy came in to
the shop, put out his hand and said "350"..The girl panicked. She phoned
the owner on his mobile and told him of her predicament."Go back in and check if he has a yellow bucket hanging between his
legs" her boss told her.She peeped through the door and saw the yellow bucket hanging
between his legs."Yes!!!!" she said " He's got one hanging there"....!
The boss said "Go back in and give him
£3-50......................He's the Window cleaner"!!!!!!! -
Bernie - that was hillarious!!!!!
-
I used Biotene mouthwash and toothpaste during chemo and never had any mouth sores. I also chomped on ice chips when the Taxotere was being infused. It think that helped, too.
-
Bernie - very funny!
When I had mouth sores I swished with Mylanta. -
Naan - Thanks for the tip! Hubby just ordered it from Amazon prime so it will be here soon.
Kathyrnn - I did one better than calling today. I "stopped in" and they were kind enough to give me sample packets of mouthwash powder and called in a prescription. So sad about your friends son.... Like this isn't sucky enough!!
OBXX - Do we need to change your name to "Grace"?
Bernie - The visual is scary..... :-)
To all of you wonderful gals, thanks again for the advise, words if wisdom and smiles! -
Just saw your post OBXX. Mylanta? Take care of the gas, mouth sores and heartburn all in one! Instead of spitting it out, just swallow:-)
-
Julie I am 38, mine came back at 10 months pfc. It was so weird cause my gyno did blood work told me I was post menapausal and a week later I started. No hotflashes, but really bad cramping and bleeding. So much she had me come in and do a ultrasound. I was hoping it would never come back. Oh well!!!
-
Obxk, hope u feel better soon, please be careful, don't want u to break anything now!
Jazzyj, hope your mouth heals quickly!
Ksmatthews, did it come regularly thereafter, I just turned 40 so don't really know what to expect, I guess I'm at the iffy age. Although if it doesn't come back I'm really not gonna miss it although I don't want to be menopausal yet. -
So far yes they have been on time, just heavy. The dr's said that is understandable considering I didn't have one for almost a year.
-
I had just turned 41 when diagnosed, period stopped after the 1st chemo in June of last year. Just got it back this past May 16, but nothing since.
Annie, I'm so sorry, it's so hard to keep up but I'm sending big hugs your way, it will be over soon just hang in there a little longer.
Hope everyone is doing well.
-
OBX...geez girl...what are we going to do with you...!
Ok. visited my friend today for her first chemo...she did well...but now she is feeling nauseated...I feel so dang helpless...I've been begging her to come here..if not to talk but to go to the tips for getting through chemo section...she did the ice chips during chemo (she took it with her..they didn't offer her any which really ticks me off)...they also gave her the emend through the IV but just gave her zofran for later...I don't think that is enough...dang I'm mad
-
I love the last line!!
Our 6th grade teacher asked the class one day,
"What human body part increases 10 times it's size when stimulated?"
This one girl stands up and says,
"You shouldn't be asking us children questions like that Mrs. Martin! I'm tellin' my Mama!"
Mrs.Martin ignored her and posed the question again. This other kid answers,
"The body part that increases 10 times it's size is the pupil of an eye."
"That is correct. As for you young lady, ONE, you have a dirty mind, TWO, you didn't do your homework, and THREE, someday you're going to be very disappointed." -
Good one Annie!
Love, Grace -
Two old ladies were outside their nursing home, having a smoke when it started to rain. One of the ladies pulled out a condom, cut off the end, put it over her cigarette and continued smoking.
Lady 1: "What's that?"
Lady 2: "A condom. This way my cigarette doesn't get wet."
Lady 1: "Where did you get it?"
Lady 2: "You can get them at any drugstore."
The next day ... Lady 1 hobbles herself into the local drugstore and announces to the pharmacist that she wants a box of condoms. The guy looks at her kind of strangely (she is, after all, over 80 years of age), but politely asks what brand she prefers.
Lady 1: "It doesn't matter as long as it fits a Camel."

Good Evening Ladies
Jazzyi - the reason they told you to use salt was because it is a natural healer. I used only salt water for my mouth issues because the bicarb coated my tongue and stopped me tasting food even more, and my ulcers healed quickly with just the warm salt water used just like a gargle. Hope this helps.
Kathrynn - that was disgusting to leave your friends son like that. Even if you can't do anything else for somebody about to pass you can at the very least make them as comfortable as possible. I would have given that doctor a right bollocking for that, unnaceptable at any time.
Karen -what am I going to do with you. How old are you, and you still can't walk properly lol. Rest that knee and do nothing. We need you to get fit again. I intend to take you walking when I arrive.
Titan - so sorry to hear about your friend. No the meds don't sound as if they are enough. You also ring that doctor and give him a bollocking!!
Well ladies I didn't get my 8th taxol today. Could do nothing with my fingers when I got to the hospital and the rash on my arms and hands was horrendous. So they rang the oncologist who I am seeing in a week and a half and she said no taxol today for me. I didn't know whether to feel relieved or worried. So thankfully not so tired tonight. They did say they like us to have six and I had seven, and that anything after that was bonus, so I guess I don't get the bonus. If my symptoms improve then I may get another but not until she has discussed it with me. I must admit its nice to have break from the side effects except I have to keep putting my typing right. I feel like I am just learning how to do it all over again. I couldn't even get the top off the toothpaste this morning or squeeze the tube so maybe its as well I am having a break. I don't really feel like trying another type of chemo though.
Can't help anyone with the period questions as I had a hysterectomy at 32 so I am way past that and thankfully so.
Heather - good to hear from you. Hope everything is going well with your job. Not long now before hubby and the babies come.
Have you noticed there is not one (bloody) in here. Bollocking doesn't count does it? anyway that was for a good cause.
I am having an early night with no dexamethasone yay.
No Tazzy tonight. Hope she is feeling well after her last one.
Keep well. Keep walking straight. Keep away from SE's Annie.
