Athena, I thought of you this week. Are you fond of lions, too, or just lionesses? The reason I ask is because I bought some blotter art of a blue, psychedelic kitty and they included one of a lion. I don't really want the lion, so I thought I'd give you first dibs. If you don't want it, it goes to the first asker. It is sealed, 7.5 inches square (19 cm) and is art - no drugs on this blotter paper!

Rosemary .. I've had a good day too. I got all my mowing done by 1 p.m., then I had 3 reports come in. Yay! I love being busy working.
Blue ... Bean salad sounds wonderful.
Otter ... I made potato salad yesterday. It was the best I've ever made. I added dill and celery salt.
It was in the upper 80's here today. Going to stay warm all week, and maybe get some thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. That would be great, then I won't have to water the flowers.
hugs,
Bren
PS .. Riley, you made me laugh out loud ... and brought back memories of my youth!
-
Love (LOVE) potato salad, cooking chicken on the bbq AND DH is picking up pizza for suppa. Go figure.

Love love love potato salad

Riley - can't see your pics, but I'm at work - hope I can see them on my home pc
-
Riley - it's panthera leo I'm fond of - the whole species. :-)
-
So do you want him, or will you pass?
(susie - hope you can see them at home - they're cute kitties)
-
Speaking of cute kitties - Poppy now hops in her bed when I come downstairs to shower for work. She meows at me to cover her up, then settles down until DH kicks her out later if he remembers. She seems to feel the cold more than any other cat I ever had.
-
I'll pass Riley - lol! The picture here is great in itself. Thank you!
ETA: I love the animal and I want to help conserve it in the wild - it's not just about the image. But thanks.

Everyone's food sounds so wonderful... I am eating lime jello because I had to do "prep" for my ooph (BSO) tomorrow morning. Feeling very sorry for myself!
Hope everyone had a lovely and relaxing day!

Sorry about the lime jello HL - sending a hug.
-
HappyLibby so sorry about the jello, and even more why!
Nice day today with my son and my SIL Dinner was steak cooked by DH along with corn. I do love potato salad, but can't stop eating it so don't make it very often.

So if anyone feels like it, let's make a list of things everybody loves but we hate. Promise I won't take offence at people saying lions. I know those creatures are misunderstood. I'm feeling peckish and wanting to tell the world exactly what I think (oh dear).
I like spieders and snakes and hate stingrays....
anyone else? You like....but you hate....

Typed on my iPad! It's a gift from work -- they got me an iPad 1 (I imagine because it was very cheap) but since I've never used the newer models, I don't know what I'm missing. Typing's not so easy, but the light weight and "book"size win out, I think. And no blank space on the left, here on BCO, so I like that.
So glad you're back, Blue! (did you see your birthday greetings?)
Susie, so glad the baby's home (and of course, he's gorgeous!)
Sorry about ticks and worse --hugs to everyone. And hoping for a spate of good news for all. -
I like perverse, twisted humor, but hate pink and the "positive thinking" movement, esp. aimed at me as a cancer pt. And that reminds me that I dislike being referred to as a BC "warrior", "victim", on a "journey", "battle", "path", waging a "courageous fight". No courage involved - I just don't want to die right now, thankyouverymuch. I'd really much rather read a book, watch TV and play online.
Something else everyone loves and I hate: onions! And garlic. And shallots and chives. And I'm giving leeks the side-eye, although folks insist they really don't taste oniony when cooked.
Carolyn - 6 months neoadjuvant chemo (clinical trial), BMX and rads. After MX, I was informed my tumor was weakly ER+ after all (8%)

Will be thinking of you tomorrow...
Feeling sorry for myself as I have to have a sonogram due to underarm pain.
Hoping for the best.
-
Sorry, Ang. Hope it's nothing bad. Do you want us to ride along in your purse with you?
I had my wrist MRI'd a week ago because it's been hurting over a month, now; and am grumbling because it still hasn't been read, thanks to the long holiday weekend. I'll call and bug them again in the morning. And the landlady, too, because the A/C isn't working very well. It's 83° at 1 am with the A/C cranked and a floor fan going. The lowest it's been this weekend is 77°, so I'm not happy.
-
Thanks Riley...
I know I should just go to bed.
I am sorry it is so hot at your place.
-
Well, I hate jello. I can't even bring myself to taste it, because the color and the smell gross me out. After my C-section with dd they would only let me eat jello for 5 days, but I couldn't bring myself to eat it, so I survived on 3 glasses of juice a day.
I am with riley on not being overly keen on the whole group-hugging battle against cancer. I get it and whatever gets anyone through this bitch is good as far as I am concerned, but it is not my method. I loved the writer who said that BC didn't make her feel all thankful to God or make her a better person, it just made her pissed off.
I do like walking my dog in the park. Always puts me in a good mood.
-
I'm in your bag, HL! I thought about calling you last night at 9 but I figured you'd already hit the sack. Sorry about the jello - I hope they have some nice, meaty, juicy graham crackers ready for you when you wake up!
I love spiders, snakes, stingrays, dolphins, just about every animal and insect except for bears and insects that enter your home in herds (ants, roaches). I'll rescue any bug that finds its way into my house unless it's a pack of them. Then the gloves are off!
Love fish, crabs, and lobster but despise clams, oysters and mussels. How do people eat that stuff! UGH!
Also hate the feel-good brave warrior cancer girl movement. I hate cancer. Like the writer, it didn't make me a better person, it didn't make me thankful to God or appreciate life more, it just made me pissed off.

I hate jello. When I was expecting my first child, the birthing people said to make jello when I went into labour. Dutifully, I made jello at the right time without knowing why. It was still there when I got home after the baby was born. My mother said that when she was a child and went to birthday parties jello was a treat. She didn't like it and always gave her share to her twin sister who did like it. It amazes me when my grandchildren go to buffet restaurants and choose jello on purpose.

Good Morning Everyone!
Thinking of Libby and her surgery this a.m. and Ang and her sonogram. Hope everything turns out benign and unremarkable.
I've been a happy camper this weekend, as I got lots of work in. Wish it could be this busy all the time.
I hate spiders and snakes and ticks, but I love the turtles down in my fields.
Hope everyone has a great Tuesday,
Bren

Hi to everyone. I'm thinking about Libby today and hoping all went well. I am like all the rest hate jello. My mom served it every which way when I was a kid. We must have eaten it daily. When she died I found all her cookbooks when cleaning out the apartment. She had at least 5 of them, and they were shall I say well worn.

I love all animals, and will find myself taking care of any poor animal injured one found in my yard. In fact we have a nest with 3 baby birds that hatched over the weekend in my bathroom window sill which is ground level. What ever made them decide to nest there is beyond me, but it sure if fun watching them care for the young. Must say they are not happy with us though, for you see our pool is all of 3 feet away from the nest!
-
Thinking about you Libby - sorry you hate jello - I don't mind it if it's made with about 1/2 the amt of water it calls for - but I can't abide the stuff when it's made "correctly".
Good luck with your sonogram, Ang - hope for the best.
There's not much that I truly hate (unfortunately, as I'd probably be thinner if I did), but am not at all fond of chocolate frosting - in fact am not particularly fond of frosting at all.
-
I hate prairie dogs, and that's not an okay thing to say here in Boulder.
And I hate pink ribbons. And I hate the warrior cancer mindset. And no, cancer did not make me a better person.
But I love brussel sprouts!
-
I like spiders and snakes
I am too ignorant to even know if I have ever had a conversation with a tick.My lack of general knowledge in some basic, day-to-day things is ASTOUNDING.
Fleas are lifelong acquaintances and NO fun - having grown up with dogs, I certainly know what they feel like.
I am DEATHLY afraid of large black butterflies of a type that only exist in the Amazon rain-forest. I also fear birds flying up too close but like them from afar - especially raptors and large water birds. Don't like cockroaches much. Ants are sweet - until you have an infestation of them in your house!
HL, do check in when you can - thinking of you all day. Hopefully your run of surgeries will be over now.
I looked at my insurance claims and was so surprised to see the relative calm of the last three months. I remember how, at dx it was just thousands upon thousands and heaps of doctors, labs, etc....
-
Hi, all -- and thanks for the good thoughts and wishes!
Ovaries and tubes are GONE. And apparently they didn't put up a struggle. Since I am 54, was still having regular periods, and tamoxifen failed me, i would not have been surprised had the little buggers tried to bite the surgeon!
I have little pain apart from the right shoulder and lower ribs from the gas. Still kind of loopy from the general anesthesia. Took one tylenol 3 when I got home ... That seems to take care of everything except the gas pain.
And now I hope that this is the last of my surgeries (forever would be nice, but I'll settle for the next decade!).
Cyber-hugs and smoochies, my friends!
