    bcincolorado, That's a rough way to lose weight.  And you were sick last week, too!

    I sure hope you are feeling better, very soon.  (((hugs)))

    Bookart, I think you can claim Irish!  In fact, I think lots of people with less Irish in them than you have claim it today!

    Am thinking of putting a little green food coloring into my green tea today - it is so pale compared to my usual English or Irish breakfast tea - but the MO told me to start drinking more green tea - so maybe a little festivity would be in order. Don't get me wrong - I do like the green tea (I got it from Starbucks and it is flavored orange spice) - but that strong black pekoe really is my favorite.

    Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!

    Linda, if you like the bergamot flavor of Earl Grey tea, try to find Earl Green.

    My food co-op carries it and it's the only way I've ever enjoyed a cup of green tea.

    Hi. Just found this thread. How are water points determined?

    hi truebff, welcome!  I think we settled on 4 glasses (32 oz) of water a day to earn a point.

    That's what I've been using anyway.  Smile

    Thanks. Do you just count water or liquids too?

    Liquids count if they don't contain caffeine or alcohol.

    Not sure about soda, I don't drink it anymore.

    I miss Fresca but not the brominated vegetable oil.  Yell

    ruthbru, I was thinking the same thing - congrats to all for hanging in there and keeping up the weekly reports.  Meece started this 2 years ago - time really flies.

    bcincolorado, hope you are feeling better.  Welcome truebff - soda does not count; only healthy no caffeine or alcohol counts.

    Wow!  How neat that you found that in Gaelic!  I'm sure impressed!

    Thanks for the well wishes everyone.  I finally turned the corner late yesterday after sleeping almost all weekend away.  I'm still a bit weak, but at least can keep food down.  Maybe exercize can come in a few days.

    BCincolorado, hope today brings you a little more health. I was listening to an interveiw with Kevin Kling who is an actor, writer, storyteller, and he is disabled. He commented that as we age, if we have great health, it is only temporary. I had to laugh, so true! But the part he didn't say was that if our health is sucky right now, that will also change. Of course, we hope for the better, but the Irish have some saying about that too - either we get better or we don't, and if we do, no worries; if we get worse, we either die or we don't. If we don't, no worries, if we do, we either go to heaven or hell. If we go to heaven, no worries, but if we go to hell we will be seeing so many friends & relatives that we'll have a great time, so no worries. All in the perspective.... but in any case, I sure hope you are feeling much better VERY SOON!

    Saw my PT today, she has finally advised me to increase upper body strengthening - had me on baseline exercises for what seemed to be forever, now I am supposed to take it slow and not hurt myself.... Let's see if that is possible! Just let me at it!

    Funny, but I crave the salty stuff more than sweets, too.  Another SE of the drugs we're taking maybe?  I'm going it blame it on that  anyway.

    hi ladies ~ glad to see you all ~ happy Friday!

    truebff, I haven't seen anyone use fractions of points but that doesn't mean we can't start.

    Roadrunner checking in

    Friday check-in = 3 points

    Weight 176.0 (down from last week) = 2 points

    New E-LAB low = 1 point

    Exercise = 14 points

    Daily H2O = 7 points

    Extra credit = 1 point - turned down pizza at work on Weds in favor of my much healthier lunch that I'd cooked myself and brought from home.  Kale with chickpeas- delicious!  Anyone want the recipe?  LMK and I'll post it.

    Total = 28 points

    p.s. when I get a salty craving, I go for the Snap Pea Crisps.  Do they have these by you?

    http://snacksalad.com/products.html

    My local food co-op stocks the Caesar flavor, OMG they are good.  Like cheetos but healthy.

    Roadrunner checking in

    3 pts for Friday check-in

    5 pts for water - missing that last 8 ounces or so

    2 pts for exercise (does coughing count?)

    0 pts for weight - up again - ate too much junk this week - and how can I say no to the tiny (but calorie-laden) gluten-free chocolate cake piece bought specially for me for company birthday party?

    10pts total - argh.  If I ever stop coughing, I can maybe get back to working out.
