AMERICAN IDOL....Season 11

Ok... Now I feel way old! The OLDEST contestant was born in 1983.......
-
I sure wish my cable would catch up with the time change...........
-
seaside me too I graduated in 1982... LOL!!
-
Me too, feeling old. Philip carries himself so well, wonder if he has experience singing in clubs, acts so comfortable.
-
I'm 15 minutes behind see you......
-
Mimi,
I was a member of the class of 1980.... Hopefully we'll get a walk down memory lane and hear lots of tunes from our 'Big hair days'...lol
OMG.... We danced and danced to the song Jessica sang.... -
Ok... So just my last post got me wondering how the heck was it possible that I danced the night away to a song sung by a 16 year old from the year she was born.... It was first done in 1976 and has been redone several times since then.....
-
OK....ready.....
I like PP.
The rest sounded like they lost their voices or something...........
HI ALL♥
-
Hi Sheila!!!
-
Love, Love, Love Colton's song!!!! He was awesome tonight
-
Mimi... No one has blown me away tonight but, I think probably PP and Colton have been my faves so far... Both guys... We are thinking this is a girls year so they better get going!
-
OK Skylar, she does do a song justice!!!!!
-
Karen,
Agreed.... Love Skylar... She reminds me a lot of Reba! As for Joshua... that was a Hallelujah moment... fabulous! -
Seaside....For me Joshua
-
ok... reeeeeeallllly wish they wouldn't poll the judges as to who the think will be safe and who may be in trouble before the vote....
-
Joshua and Hollie, with Skylar and Philip following them. If Jermaine had 4 warrants why did he not leave in a squad car.
-
Sheila,
He WAS really amazing!
-
Lol Karen... I thought the same thing as far as Jermaine.. I would like to think that he did go to the police station and they just didn't show it....
-
I'm running behind and just watching Skylar but OMG I love her!!! she is my idol this year
-
Karen333 - LOL!!!!!
-
Showtime in ten minutes here....
We like to wait for a while after it comes on, and do stuff like get ready for bed or clean up the kitchen or whatever.....then we can watch the whole show on DVR and skip through all the commercials!
-
I fast forward through commercials to blessings
-
TONIGHT - SONGS FROM THE CONTESTANT'S BIRTH YEARS!
PHILLIP/1990 (Hard To Handle) - and he sang this well after kidney stone surgery? With a bluesy voice like his, it really doesn't matter if he nails every note perfectly. I sure like his smile!
JESSICA/1995 (Turn the Beat Around) - Um, I'm not in the Jessica Fan Box tonight, either. I liked her sparkly pants, I couldn't understand a word she sang, and after getting the judges' criticism, she said it was because "there weren't very many songs to choose from in 1995"....uh....yeah......only a few thousand....
HEEJUN/1989 (Right Here Waiting) - I vote for Heejun's parents tonight. They were my favorites. Unfortunately, Heejun gasped through most of the song, and all I could think of was OMG, someone get this kid an inhaler! (And did anyone else notice that the glasses he wore when he sang had no lenses in them?)
ELISE/1983 (Let's Stay Together) - She was good, but so was Obama.

DEANDRE/1994 (Endless Love) - Another misstep by Jimmy Iovine and will.i.am. It was a BIG contrast to Deandre's energetic song from last week, and this week all his singing made me want to do was go put on my jammies and fuzzy robe. Oh, yeah, now I remember who he reminds me of! Bert Lahr in Wizard of Oz!!!!
SHANNON/1995 (One Sweet Day) - Yikes. Big song, already done a gazillion times by a bunch of talented artists, she had some very strange stage moves considering the subject matter.
COLTON/1991 (Broken Heart) I never heard this song before, but that's not saying much. He kind of reminded me of Adam Lambert when he would put on rock concert quality stuff. And Colton really can sing.
ERIKA/1985 (Heaven) - I thought she looked great, but it still sounds like she's trying to find her way. I wish she was more Adele-ish.
SKYLAR/1994 (Love Sneaking Up On You) - She wanted to do Bonnie Raitt; Jimmy and will.i.am wanted her to do something else. She held her ground, sang the song she wanted, and did a great job. Were those great big honkin' GUN earrings she wore in rehearsal?
JOSHUA/1992 (When A Man Loves A Woman) Now THAT P.K. (Preacher's Kid) showed a whole lotta talent. And he's sweet. Best of the night as far as I'm concerned!!!
HOLLIE/1993 (Power of Love - Celine Dion) O.K. Just because she has a big voice doesn't mean she has to keep doing all those chart-topping powerhouse songs. They're so iconic, it's almost boring. And the song and the dress were too old for her. I'd like to see her connect with both the lyrics AND the audience more.
Well, we got to see Jermaine get the boot. But the Nigels made him squirm first. On tape. Anything for ratings....

-
OMG, GREAT recap Blessings!!
I swear my kids think I'm crazy because I was laughing so hard at the Bert Lahr/Deandre comparison.... Those curly locks do remind me of my favorite cowardly lion.... And HeeJun, your description was spot on and funny to boot!!
Thanks for starting my day with a smile! -

I guess Heejun.
-
Sheila,
Are those percents how likely they are to be voted off or stay? If it's to stay, I am very surprised!!
Won't be able to join you all tonight... Heading down to our local watering hole to watch some of the NCAA tournament with DH.... Every year a big group of us takes over the place. I could care less about the basketball but, it's fun to get together with everyone especially those we haven't seen in a long time that drop by!!
Have a great night!! -
Voted off....
