Please tell me What were you doing????????????????

Yes, Patti, I had a lucky rabbit's foot - it was bright orange. Guess the rabbit wasn't so lucky.
I also remember the blue laws. In Texas, they were in effect until 1985!
w. -
Hey Wedney
I believe
our blue laws ended some time
in the mid sevenites
Do you remember when Quiana Shirts
where the rage...The men wore them
with several buttons opened
for the maucho look ...LOL!
I was a huge All my children fan
years ago.. Remember Laura and Luke?
When my mom
highlighted her hair
back in the day
they called it
tipping and streaking...long before foils they
used the hook and rubber cap
everything was in aerosol
cans...
the bowling shoe craze..
going to the bowling alley
and leaving our shoes
for a pair of bowling shoes I remeber my mom
having a fit !
I remember discovering Ravi Shankar (Nora Jones dad)
in the early seventies
and Bod Marley in my junior year of high school(1974)
xoxo
Patti -
Hi Patti:
Love Bob Marley
and Reggae
used to go the clubs
here and dance on out
Also living on an island
they loved carribean
steel bands in those days
Smokey Robinson
remember him
what about those Nehru Shirts
or dresses .. do you recall those??
a long time ago..
ps yes the day of the week
undies.. I was going to say that
but forgot..I like your system down
there your undies are sized
ie 5 7 9 and so on..
our are just S M L XL ..
Hugs -
Sierra,
you forgot my size- holy cow!
Vicki,
Was there a zebra in that comercial for Beechnut?
Does any one remember creepy crawlers it was this liquid
plastic stuff and had metal molds in the shapes of bugs,
and you baked them. How about your Easy Bake oven I loved those little cakes and pizza.
Wendy oh my gosh the pixie cut with tweety bird bangs!
Did any one have those little sun suits they tied at the shoulders and had elastic leg openings, just about every picture of me when I was little I am wearing one with a pixie cut. lol.
For Ravdeb~ Now comes the time to say good bye to all our company
M-I-C- see ya real soon
K-E-Y- why because we like you!
M-O-U-S-E-------
Hugs,
Carrie -
Carrie,
YES!!! There was a zebra in that Beechnut commercial! I'd forgot all about that! Thanks for reminding me!
And, yes, I have some photos of me in those little sun suits you described!
What about those stirrup pants? Had stirrups at the bottom of your pants that went across the bottom of your feet? Had those as a child and then again in later years...
hugs,
vicki -
Happy Friday to all:
I used to wear those stirrups
pants..
Now, this is sad.
the link on Whiteney Houston
such a beautiful and talented
lady..
I cant get over it..
this was discussed on our radio
last night
http://breakingnews.iol.ie/entertainment/story.asp?j=177782802&p=y777835x8
Hugs -
Happy Friday to you, too, Sierra....(although, now it's almost Saturday!)
Yes, it is very sad about Whitney Houston. It's been obvious to me for several years now that she has had a terrible drug addiction. Saw her on a few talk shows and it was just heart breaking to see. Hope she's able to face her addiction and over come it.
hugs,
vicki -
Speaking of stirrups...
Looks like the gaucho is coming back
I have been
thinking about
gardening and I just had
this flashback
of sitting in a tire swing
that hung from this huge weeping willow tree
we would wind the chain so tight and let go..
Remember those miniature wax
mini bottle of soda with the colored
liquid stuff inside?
I just took my viactive calcium
supplement...It reminded me of
those diet fads of the day...They were chocolate
diet aids called ayds? My mom used to pop them and remember eating them like candy
when she was not looking...LOL
xoxo
Patti -
I LOVED those plastic bottles!!! Maybe they are what led to the compulsive straw chewing that I still do - trying to get every drop of flavor!!
-
Yep, I'm noticing many people wearing the gauchos now, again, too.... cute!
And, I remember those mini wax soda bottles, too...
Anyone remember having "sack" races? Two people put one leg each in a cloth sack (potato sack?) and race other pairs of people in sacks?
hugs,
vicki -
Okay, I'm game...I was born in 1957 as well. Some of these things I'm sure were mentioned before, but here are some of mine:
Those big red wax lips
Peace sign necklaces
Threading together beer or soda tabs, when they were actually pulled off the can
Playing Devil in the Ditch and Kick the Can
Marco Polo in the pool, which has survived handily
Necco wafers which have also survived
Bobby Sherman (had a crush on him)
Fun! Vicki, we gotta do lunch and compare memories! ;-)
-

Ok ladies I just heard this

Patti,
I am smiling and humming I loved those what cool sites!!
and every time I hear that song about golden sands it makes think of warm tropical vacations.
I likes those little wax cola bottles too,
did your Mother tell you don't swallow the wax!
Vicki I had stirrup pants too
which reminds me of my snow boots with the little strip of
fake fur at the top and snow always went down the tops of them and I'd come in from playing with my toes and fingers so cold ,
but I didn't care there was no way I coming in from the snow just because I was cold lol !
hugs,
Carrie -
Patti,
Love that song - A Whiter Shade of Pale!
LongCoolWoman - yes, we'll definitely need to do lunch soon and compare memories!
Just saw a big bumble bee buzzing around my azelea bush today - reminds me of taking glass mayonaise jars and catching bees in the summer. Also used to love to catch lightening bugs at night.

Herman's Hermits were great ...along with the Dave Clark 5
"don't let the sun catch you crying ...oooohhh no"
love the memories, gals.....Sharon F -
wax bottles of flavored liquid, wax lips, candy cigarettes before the surgeon general came out with his warning, long straws with flavored sugar
Did that stuff really taste good?
Do you remember when candy bars or boxes were a nickle?
Bazooka bubble gum was a penny with a wrapped up comic inside.
I just thought of a jingle from a Saturday morning commercial.
A little cartoon boy in an engineer's cap:
Charlie says....love those Good & Plentys
Charlie says.....they really ring the bell
Charlie says .....love those Good & Plentys
Don't know any other candy that I love so well!

browse, choose where your photo file is and choose the photo you want to post. and click Host.
highlight the URL tag and go to the very top of the page and choose edit and copy, come back to your message box
at BC.ORG clik the curser into the message box go to
very top of page and click edit again and paste.
This puts the Url tag in your message box. then click review and your pic will be there.

Carrie -
Patti, I don't have the equipment to put pics on but I have my secret weapon...CARRIE! Get back with me Carrie cause mom just gave me an old black & white of me and you (oh yeah, she gave me one to give to you too, I forgot!). Maybe you could post it.
I also loved Bobby Sherman and played one of his 45's over and over until I memorized it. Can't remember for the life of me what that song was. Patti, you have to keep thinking of the words to that song until I see if it comes back to me! LOL
Denise -
This is one of my favorite Photo's
This is my Mother, Grandmother & Grandfather
I will scan some more pics to post need to hunt them up.
Carrie -
Carrie , your mother is as precious as Shirley Temple(another survivor, I think)
-
Oh, Carrie! Your mother is even more adorable than Shirley Temple! I love that picture!
hugs,
vicki -
My grandmother told me about this picture. She said that Shirley Temple was very popular and all the ladies were curling their little girls hair and putiing little short dresses on them, My grandfather just got home from the navy and Grandma said she wanted Mom to have a little sailor dress.
Vicki I love your new pic, your so pretty!
Carrie
