Thinking Out Loud.....

thanks chrisct.............hoping too.........so glad I have you gals by my side......it makes it that much easier............I'm saying "ouch" already...................
-
Ouch is right!
Good morning!
-
chris...you need a monthly appointment book where you can see the entire month.
I use one.
(((((((Ducky))))))
(((TOL)))
-
Or a sticky note on your forehead. I use one (many).
-
-
LOL, Chris....relax!
-
Thanks for the "hugs"....................They read the mammogram right away, and the Tech., gave me a "thumbs up" when she came to the waiting room.................then in the hallway she said "the Dr. who read your Mam, said......tell her everything looks good, and we will see her next year.
Didn't hurt that much, so of course now I'm concerned they didn't squeeze hard enough......My kids were beside themselves with excitement, and actually gitty when they heard the good news................My oldest son (the one who was there for everything said "Happy Birthday Mom"..........."I call this your birthday now".
thanks again ladies for being there for me...........
-
By the way ladies............I did ask for the thyroid shield................my tech said "the only reason we don't recommend it is because we get more "call backs because of it"..............so I asked to see it........when she showed it to me, it came down a little low on the chest area above the breast, and I was concerned it might shield something the Mam. might have otherwise picked up.......I told her "forget it", I don't like where it falls.
Plus what the hell almost 77, BC, plusa heart attack in 07..............took my chances............
-
Yay Ducky! So glad to hear it. I don't think it not hurting that much means they didn't squeeze hard enough. Mamms don't hurt me that much. Last year I thought it would hurt more than it did. I have mine in 2 weeks. I've never heard of a thyroid sheild. Maybe they only use it on people they know have thyroid issues?
-
YAY!!!! Excellent news Ducky!!
-
Thanks Mak.............;
Christct....they use the shield on everyone, provided you know about it, and ask......, but in protecting the thyroid, to me, it appeared that it covered some of the chest wall also, and I wasn't willing to take the chance............also, after all the friggin Rads I had, my thyroid is probably destroyed anyway.............if 33 direct treatments didn't do it, 1 mammogram isn't going to........................hugs and thanks.
-
I ask for it at the dentist when I have to get Xrays. I didn't know they had one for mammos. I'm screwed from the rads too!
-
-
I thought the harder they squeeze the better the picture, not so. I mentioned that to the tech last time and she said, "Who told you that?" Oh well, the only time it hurts is on the rib cage while I lean against the plate, I keep telling them to lower it I'm only 4'11". I hear some places have a plate you rest your boob on in concave.
Happy Dance for ducky

What is the real date when you count for your cancerversary? When you were diagnosed or after the surgery?
