-
Phil was good still not a fav of mine... gotta agree with Jennifer the girls rocked it tonight
-
Can't believe it, I mossed PP Sounded good in the short clip, love the rocker stuff, far away from Colton, that's a little too punky, or I'm getting old.
-
gotta start voting!! see ya'll tomorrow night
-
I think i had more fun chatting here.
Hoping next week will be a better week for all.
I might not be here tomorrow night...will join you in the middle.
Good Night
-
Ok... Since tomorrow seems like it will start with the announcement as to the boy and girl who received the least votes and then the judges will decide who stays or not.... Any guesses as who the bottom girl and boy will be?
-
Jeremy & Jermaine
I love Shannon but after tonight ?????????
-
Daughter likes Deandre and Jessica.
I like Deandre and Skylar.
But no Adam Lambert.
-
bottom girl-----Elise
bottom guy-----HeeJun
Anne
-
which one is Elise?
The one with the hat all the time?
-
I waited all day to see this tonight. But something is wrong with our satellite feed (we have DISH Network) and the sound was not working properly so we couldn't watch it. Grrrrr! This happened last week on Idol as well but we figured it was a one-time thing so we didnt' call to complain. You can be SURE we will be calling in to DISH tomorrow.
I guess we'll watch the results show tomorrow (if it is working properly) - at least they show snips of each song so we will have some idea what happened.
Oh well!
-
I have voted and I'm done!!
bottom girl - Shannon or Elise
Guy - Jermaine or Jeremy
-
Amy,
Well that stinks! My DH was really whizzed at our cable company when they came to an impass with MSG network which meant he would no longer get his hockey games... They have since resolved the problem but he has said we are looking at switching to DISH this spring.... We shall see! -
Allll righty, AI fans....my personal blow-by-blow of last night's performances:
JOSHUA ("Wish") - the first thing I noticed was the huge stage setting and the horns on stage and the backup singers singing really loud. I kept thinking that this sure is a good thing for those weak singers! But Joshua did a good, energetic job!
ELISE - Poor thing, I think she was doomed before she started. She wanted to do "Greatest Love of All", and Jimmy and Mary J. convinced her to do "Be My Baby Tonight", which she'd never heard of (?!?) Her excuse at the end of a shaky performance? "Well, maybe if I knew it for a month or more..."
JERMAINE ("Knocks Me Off My Feet") - Ah, Jermaine....so sweet....the judges want him to relate to the lyrics more, but can he? Is he really just an innocent Mama's boy with an incredible voice? Sometimes after he sings, he looks to the crowd as if he's asking "Did I do all right? Do you like me?" Hope he manages to grow in confidence.
ERIKA ("I Believe In You And Me") Love me some Erika! Took this Whitney song and made it her own. One of my faves of the evening. But I think she can do more, as the judges keep telling her.
COLTON ("Lately") - Can't say I was familiar with this song, but Colton showed his vulnerable side, and it worked.
SHANNON ("I Have Nothing") - For a 16 year old girl, she sure has talent and beauty and confidence! But I think she lost her nerve near the end of her song, and it just fell apart. She may be in trouble tonight....
DEANDRE ("Master Blaster") - It was SUCH a relief to not hear him sing a song almost completely in falsetto for a change!!! I think he had a lot of youthful, energetic fun performing his song.
SKYLAR ("Where Do Broken Hearts Go?") - I really like this girl. Another teenager, I think? Not a typical "Whitney" girl, yet she put a great country spin on it.
HEEJUN ("All In Love Is Fair") - He has a nice voice. I'm getting used to his personality/sense of humor. He did a nice job with his songZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - huh? It's over? Must have fallen asleep......
HOLLIE ("All The Man I Need") - DANG! This girl is LITTLE!!! And such a huge voice!!! Definitely a contender, and another of my favorites.
JEREMY ("Ribbon In The Sky") - Well, we all know he was J-Lo's pick as a wild card....but can he produce? Poor sweet guy - he sounds the same no matter what he sings.
JESSICA ("I Will Always Love You") - O.K., Jessica fans....feel free to skip this part. I love that she is 16 years old and she has that amazing, huge voice. But last night, even though she did a wonderful job on Whitney's big song, there was something that wasn't quite right about it. Maybe it was like I felt it was a "Whitney Imitation Contest"....that it was an eerie replication of the way Whitney sang it, complete with riffs and runs....and somehow, Jessica never really made it her own. But then again, what do I know? I'll be back in the Jessica Fan Section next week, I'm sure.
PHILIP ("Superstition") - I like this guy. He's different. But he sure had a LOT of help onstage with that song, and the other professionals carried a lot of the performance. He did interpret the music, which is what he does, and makes it completely his own, but even without Philip Philips, that would have been an entertaining performance.
-
totally agree with the exception of Colton, does nothing for me, Jeremy, nice kid, nice voice, next and Jessica. She could pull it off this year, it was, I thought sung as a tribute and she was "spot on". I am continually amazed by the sheer volumn and passion in her voice. Heejun - same reaction, zzzzzzz.
-
Blessings - thank you so much for the rundown. Almost makes me feel like I got to see the show! Hope our satellite feed is working tonight!
-
blessings you did a great job of running down the show last night - you summed up almost exactly what I thought and felt!!! yeah!!
-
Blessings! Fabulous recap! Thank You !!
Ok East Coast Ladies.... It's time!!!!! -
I'm here too, they did the group number well, Alyse did not sound like she was on key.
-
Ok... I'm going to say.. The first girl's choice seems obvious..... The guys, maybe less so...
-
I'm back...caught up with the first 20 minutes.
-
Not surprised in either choice, boy or girl.
-
Great recap of show - Will watch results later. I agree that Jessica was replicating, not so personalizeed, but I also think that oft times Jimmy and his entourage of pros lead them wrong with their guidance. As in Elise's experience. And that one guy's experience a season back when told to strut on staage, macho it up, women love that - the poor guy was gone in a week.
I like the first singer, Joshua. And preferred Hollie tonight. But I don't have it pinned as to who will win this year, so many years I have known.
Phil hauled that song in, the audience didn't know what to do with it, I think, the horns, backup, guitars forging ahead, then there Phil was, dragging it back. But I love it, and he is unique, I love unique.
Yes, I think Shannon will go home, and don't think she should.
-
Love Lauren!! She was so talented and her and Scotty were so supportive of each other... I think our baby has grown up....
-
OMG...I loved Lauren Alaina...she grew up ...lost weight......very comfortable....♥
This is what I'm saying...i don't have any contestants that touched my heart this year.
-
Essa,
Totally agree in that sometimes I think the experts send the contestants in a totally wtong direction.... -
I really like Shannon.....Yes she messed up last night but overall she is good.....she might stay after all.
We wait and see.
Joshua bottom 3
