Laureen, I happened to be thinking about you today and wondering how you were doing. It sounds like you are doing well. Good luck in pre-med classes. You will have much empathy to offer your patients.
-
Hi everyone! Happy New Year. Glad everyone is doing ok, all things considered. Here's to putting this crap in the rearview mirror in 2012!
-
Not sure how to ask but are u ladies having burning in your umm girl parts when u have intercourse ? If so why ? and how can this be fixed ???
-
justme1 - it's probably from dryness. You take tamoxifen right? Fix it with LOTS of lube
-
Ask your MO about Estring, vagifem and scream cream... Do a search here for scream cream and the recipe for a compounding pharmacy to make w an Rx should be in the found postings somewhere
-
Hey KAT! Found out on Friday ( the 13th - boooo) that I am having round three of cellulitis! Agh! I have gone to my GP and I guess the whole medical field was thinking it wAs a result of rads and healing from rads...
Anyway! Since going off of the Effexor my sex drive is much better. But I sure cried a lot!
Now, I'm in an organization frenzy... -
oh wow Cyborg I never even considered that my sex drive and my antidepressants were the connection. A very basic place to start, don't know why I didn't remember that! So glad you mentioned it.
Thank you so much
-
Seriously cyborg - round 3? you can't get a break!
-
Tamoxifen isnt what i take but its like that does the same thing . I will try anthing to relieve that burning .OH me i just want a normal life back thats all.
-
I'm burning after sex too... Agh. Boyfriend looks happy though !
-
Seriously, ask your MO about estring.
-
No fair... Pout
I am on a no sex for atleast another 2 weeks. Already been 5 or 6.
Had partial hip replacement because tumor in femur fractured it. I walked aroudn on it for 6 weeks broken ( as far as I can figure).
I dont like my hip precausions.
Need to find possions that dont bend leg more then 90 degrees, dont put leg out or in to far, basically keep leg straight and dont spreed the legs. Any ideas????
I need some nookie!!!!
-
justme1--- I was having the dryness - burning feeling and my ONC and OBGYN (just happen to see both of the in the same week so asked them both) told me to use lots of lube - my OBGYN recommended old fashion KY - nothing with the "sensation" stuff. It has worked great for me.
-
i will have to go shopping
-
So far no tamoxifen for me but the same problems, plus no desire whatsoever. I am on effexor and wonder if that is the problem. I only seem to be happy being lazy watching tv on the sofa! I think to much antidepressant can cause that, content with doing nothing.
Laureen-congrats on work and school! I started back to school beginning of this year.
Hi 39 years old, Cyborg, Justme, Margie, twisted, MamaV, Beaglesgirl, Patriotic Elizabeth and all others!
How are the mastectomy girls doing? I still haven't started rads due to ongoing infections:(
Cyborg, did you get cellulitis after rads? Is that an infection?
-
Bak94 this is my third round of cellulitis. 2 during chemo and one five months after completion of rads. But I'm better. Breast still needs to be looked at by BS. My Gp didn't write urgent on the referral. I hope you are in healing node and dong get this.
I also had/ have deminished desire and I don't want to lose my relationship. Kinda worried about that! -
To Cyborg and other fellow chemo patients endurers and fellow side affect Sufferers, Please don't let your lack of desire and other things get you down -for it is as you know the chemos fault not yours, Cyborg have you talked to your cancer team about this as there is help available to possibly kick start things and get things going- Also I know it is hard to get the other half to understand it is not you but the treatment because sometimes the handiest source is the easiest to blame-the other person not truly realising how devastating or frustrating this is for you! I am having palliative chemo and it is as effective as killing chemo in killing or lowing natural urges that consenting people have.If you feel you can't talk to your cancer team first experiment with available options and then if that doesn't work take it to the next step though I feel sad that you are in fear of losing your other half because of this I thing you need to talk to each other if you haven't already and maybe hatch a plan of your own even to kick start things or see where you are at-remembering that there are many forms of intimacy besides the regular one and they can be just as interesting/fun, I wish you love luck and laughter with everything and be good to yourselves Chemo is a destressing thing to deal with but its side affects are worse some times but remember for the most part they disappear in time.
-
I must be weird. I have a great sexual desire; HOWEVER I am not allow sex because of the new hip. "dont spread your legs" . Even during chemo we had sex about every 3 weeks. UGGG
But I do agree with depressed. I am depressed because I can do anything
-
My baby turned 7 today!!!
-
Happy Birthday Katrina!!!
-
Thanks for the encouragement . My breast infection . My onc doesn't think it's BC but he still wants to have me see BC and rule that out... WHAAAAAAT...
-
thanks for the encouragement pminxy! I agree with your sentiments- I was told no sex for 3 months after my hysterectomy in December. It is so important to keep the itimacy going while the sex is on the back burner. Its difficult but very important to the health of our relationships.
Cyborg- I am so sorry this hiccup. Keep us posted please!
