Thought I would just let you all know that blondelawyer (Lisa Brown) died this morning.

Her dear father-in-law has been by her side throughout this sad final journey.

I don't believe she was close to many here - but the YSC girls have been watching over the amazing love given to her by the cystic fibrosis support commmunity, where she was very active. For more info,

i am so sad that Lisa has passed away. We started out with the same kind of dx at about the same time. Hers worsened even on the chemo.

I kept up w her through here and later on her blog. I knew she was IV and sent her healing thoughts.

Although it is horrible, I find peace knowing she is with her beloved husband.

    Rest in peace Blondelawyer...

My heart just broke a little reading about Lisa.  She jumped from here to the Stage IV forums when her 'suspicious spot' at original diagnosis was confirmed in January as lung cancer.  Poor dear.  She had been so sad after losing her DH and none of the chemo was doing a darn thing for her!  I hate BC!!!!

I can just feel her DH was waiting for her with open arms.  The young lovers are now together again.  I will use that image to ease the pain of her passing.

I agree MamaV, I will also keep that thought - I know she was in so much pain from losing him and then from having to go through this battle without him. RIP Lisa.  I am so sad, this is such a sobering update. All we can do is to enjoy our lives and be grateful for every day we are given. I've remarried since but in 2008 I lost my husband of a sudden cardiac arrest- totally healthy man- we had three kids, one of which was with him at the park. We never know and we can't live in fear we should just live with joy and gratitude. <3

I have been thinking about Lisa since I saw the thread last night.  I am so sad about her passing.  Beaglesgirl, thank you for the words of wisdom.

I would like to let everyone on the board know that you all helped me get through my journey.  We might not know each other closely but this online connection with you all is truly a tremendous blessing for me.

Something told me I should come back and visit everyone here.

I'm so saddened to learn of Lisa's passing. I feel like I've lost a friend.

I think she my have died of a broken heart as much as cancer. May she rest in peace and be with her dear, sweet husband. She had a lot of really good memories of him on her blog. She's an angel now.

I'm glad to see the rest of you ladies here. You all sound good and getting through recovery. I've been hit by cellulitis many times (hospital stay for week in late July) but apart from that I have only happiness and grace to dwell on. Although, I'm now profoundly saddened to hear one of our own has passed. God bless her.

    Hugs,

    Kat

    Hi Everyone,

I will be moving to Akron, Ohio (near Cleveland) on Saturday.  My fiance and I will be there for 3 years and will then be heading back to the Bay Area.

Does anyone know of any recommended Breast Cancer support group in Cleveland area?  I would appreciate all info!

    Thank you all,

    Laureen

Hi. I have had quite a week. My car was stolen on Thursday. I had a bone scan and they they think I may have hip degeneration and not likely mets, but I will get the solid answer by Friday. Last year my bone scan was very good. My hips do hurt. I wonder if the Feraston is doing real damage.

Cyborg - booo!  Let us know about Friday.  My bone scan is showing significant loss due to Arimidex too.  BC just stinks!

Hi Ladies! Well- this week just stunk for the May '11 girls :( I had my 3 month follow-up with my MO on Tue and he scared me when he sent me downstairs for an urgent CT of my chest - all because I had a cough and some pain in my sternum. For 24 hours I planned my death... again then thankfully they called and said it was all clear! I am grateful for his swift action but it really is discouraging in my mental recovery.

Also, my hip has also been in lots of pain for 6-7 months. I'm triple negative  so not on an anti-hormonals but I did have a hysterectomy in Dec. Also at same ill fated appt on Tue MO said "I want you to have an MRI for the hip, it may be "avascular necrosis from the chemo" Yell what? another side effect? So I'm in the same bad hip boat Cyborg.

I did promise God that I would take the Femur surgery with no complaints if he spared me from mets when I was praying and crying all night waiting for my scan results. Foot in mouth

Hoping for good news from your scan on Friday Cyborg and MamaV I don't know what to say about the bone loss other than what I tell myself everyday. Everyday we wake up is a Good Day.  I'll check for everyones updates next week.

I found out today that it is not mets. "normal degeneration" doctor said. Hmmmmmm. I also heard that the loss of estrogen can hurt the joints too. Well, I believe there is a thread about bone health on this site. And now I know why. I am going to go to the gym tonight. I go every night. Now, I wonder if I am hurting my hips.

My stolen car doesn't help, but it could be worse.

thank God its not mets! Cyborg. I am relieved for you on that one. I wish i had an answer for our disintegrating bones. hhmmmmm Open for ideas if anyone gets a good lead on that one. I'm leaving for MRI of my hip. I will update when I get the results.

Yes!  Thank God no mets!  I hate how we will live with these fears forever!  But, we are living so that's a blessing! I will enjoy every single day - even if it's a bad day!

Wow, can you believe we're even talking about "mets' already. It's so real and not unlikely but it seems like we just went through the super deluxe car wash and are still wet.

I had my second set of scans last week and all clear. I wasn't worried but I must admit that the recurrence rate does spike within fisrt two years then year 5.

I can't imagine my oncologist being able to look me in the face and tell me that I have mets so soon since chemo and radiation. Maybe I should expect the unexpected.

You are all strong ladies and your hanging in there. Keep the faith.

Arimidex nearly killed me. Aromisin is working much better. There are options for hormonal therapy. Fyi.

    Hugs,

    Kat

RE Hip pain and MRI: My Onc called and gave me the strangest news- he told me that I have a torn ligament and seemed shocked that I had been running around like this for so long. He asked if I had been doing some sort of strenuous sport around the time when the pain began (6-8 months ago) Ha! nooo! that would be when I was healing from my hysterectomy and rads... He referred me to an ortho specialist. I can deal with this!

Glad it's nothing more serious than that Beags - Ridiculous how compared to BC, everything else seems like not such a big deal!  Still hope you find something to ease your pain!

Hi everyone. Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday. Lots to be thankful for.

I am so sad to hear about blonde lawyer's passing. How awful. She was so young! I havent been on the Web site in a while. May she rest in peace with her deceased husband.

So, I share all of your concerns; chemo brain (although it seems to be improving), hormonal aches and pains, hair regrowth woes (curly.....ahh!), watchful/waiting for doctors visits and scans, getting "mojo" back, etc. I do feel like I am out of the funk I was in. Plus, I have two kids to chase so, I do not have long to sit around feeling sorry for myself! Lol.

    Everyone, take care!

    Happy December to all!

It does sound like we all have some lasting SE's from treatment. I had to quit my job, it was just too Physical work for me. On a better note, I love not workign, getting some projects done around the house!

Has anyone heard from Candice? (36yearold)? I miss blondlawyer, I think of her often. It does make me happy thinking of her and her husband being back togethher, healthy, and no more pain.
