I'm still trying to understand "scootaloo" - how many can do it at once?

feel better Blue,  being "regular" sick is not fun.  Just had a bad experience with stomach flu, wasn't even that sick during chemotherapy - fresh ginger in hot water was the only thing I could handle for days- trying to look at possible weight loss as the "bright side" but it's still dim.

Hope everyone is feeling better.....kinda nice being on 'time out'

It took me quite some time to figure out "scootaloo"-I googled it and it still took me awhile.....

Blue-I hope you're feeling better soon.

I have been very lucky this winter-I have not even had a cold. Well, lucky except for the bladder infection back in the first part of December. I usually don't get sick, even though I am surrounded by phelgmy, hacking, snotty children every day. Probably just jinxed myself. I've said many times, "I don't get colds or flu-I just get cancer." People are never sure whether they should laugh.

Finally took down the Christmas tree and decorations today. It always looks so bare around here after the decorations come down.

Blue and Sunflowers, sorry you are feeling poorly. Being sick sucks big time.

    Missing Athena.

Today we are having brunch with a gal pal of mine. The place is really cool, called the Queenshead Eurobar. Never had brunch there so should be interesting, as the evening menu is really diverse. Try grilled scallops on a bed of roasted brussel sprouts. YUM!

Hmmm well, Scootaloo is kind of an arcane reference.  :-)  I don't want to outwardly offend or insult anyone, but inward offense and insults are totally acceptable!

Blue and Sunflowers - ACK!  Please feel better soon!

Yram - I don't get colds or the flu either, and I've used that "I just get cancer" line before.  I make sure to smile brightly and chuckle so that people know it's okay to laugh.  Our Xmas decorations came down last week and the house looks barren.  Maybe I'll decorate for next year!

Barb - that sounds like a wonderful place for brunch!  Grilled scallops on a bed of roasted brussels sprouts....gimme!  I had dinner last night with a group of friends at a place called "Buck's Fishing and Camping."  Other than the canoes in the rafters, I didn't get a real campground sense from the place.  The food was super-salty and even I, a salt monster, couldn't swallow it all.  We got a little silly toward the end of the evening and broke into gales of laughter when an adjacent diner actually ASKED FOR A SALT SHAKER.  Every time she put more salt on her food, we collapsed.  When we left the restaurant, we noted a large glass jar holding a candle.  At the bottom, holding the candle in place, was A PILE OF SALT.  I kid you not.  It was like living in an episode of Seinfeld.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, and that our ill friends are healing rapidly.  Hugs to all!

Brussell sprouts? Are we talking in code again?Tongue out

Enjoyous-I have a co-worker that makes herself a ramen cup-o-noodles every day for lunch. After it's cooked, she pours it into a bowl and adds SALT. I couldn't believe it the first time I saw it. This is a woman who has heart issues. I just about had a heart attack just watching her. I love my salt, too, but that was just too much.

OMG she adds salt to ramen?  That stuff's like cup-o-salt already!

I don't think it was code talk.  Unless we want it to be.  Mwahahaha!

tee, hee...E, you've got me really giggling now.  Thanks to Mary for suggesting the google...tee, hee...

Feeling much better today - can at least drink tea - what ever this stomach thing is, it seems to be going around to a lot of people I know....not my preferred diet, but then, being desperate, well, I'm finding a positive about it.  Hope Blue is feeing better too....

salt to ramen, sounds like a version of coals to New Castle...

Morning girls - didn't sleep well at all, but I did have a lovely afternoon nap yesterday. We get our house back tonight!!! I'll miss Annie but not the SIL. It's been really really hot and will be worse today, so I'm glad I'll be in the office. We're letting them borrow the car again today and she has strict instructions to be home in time to pick me up after work. I'll then have to take them to the airport - a bit too early for their flight but it will be peak hour, so we can't take the risk of leaving too late and I also have to cook dinner at a reasonable hour.

    Athena - where are you?

We have our house back - I took them to the airport when I got home from work. They are way too early for the flight but at least they'll be in airconditioning - it was 35 celcius today!!! There was no traffic - I couldn't believe it.

New project at work starting tomorrow - I'm looking forward to it.

kad2kar - HAHAHAHA!  That goes along with my "sew-er" post a few days ago.  No, Scootaloo is one of the My Little Pony characters.  Her personality seemed to fit mine.  :-)

Congrats to having your house back, susieq!  Sorry the visit wasn't better.  :-(

Happy Monday, everyone!  Full moon a-comin'!

ooooohhh...full moon the day before the New Hampshire primary...this should be FUN.

Speaking of being appreciative of strange things - no snow ( shhh...don't want to say that out loud) bare trees, blue skies, SUNSHINE...) and a ful moon -  hope all are doing well...

I know you girls don't like to hear about our warm weather but we had to have 3 fans on us last night - I wish we had aircon. It is great to have just the 3 of us now including Poppy - poor kitty the heat must be terrible for her.

    Hope you're feeling better Blue

SunflowersMA - I'll keep it quiet too. So far here in my part of Ontario on the north shore of Lake Ontario we have not had any snow that stuck. I even had clothes on the line the other day. Today at the elementary school playground there was a lot of mud and many puddles. As ee cummings said, it is "mud luscious. . .  and puddle wonderful".

Sitting in the pool is good - not game to do it naked in case the neighbours look out - wouldn't want to scare them :)

40 degrees in Michigan. Very mild.

It was a very sad afternoon.  Bobba kitty had not been eating a lot lately and over the weekend she ate nothing at all. We took her to the vet and she had a large mass on her kidney and several small ones on her liver. We had her put down.

Then an hour later  I had to lead a meeting for work. I just got home and I think I will go drown my sorrows.

Oh, rosemary...so sorry to hear about Bobba kitty. Such a hard decision to make.

About 40 degrees here, cloudy and windy. I won't be naked.

    She was beautiful.

It was not a hard decision to make. She was so sick and there was nothing they could do. I really do hate cancer. It even takes our pets.
