It's referred to as the gambling drug.  Impulse control disorders.  Personality make-over!  But I will be on a low dose and everyone is on high alert.  Is emend an antihistamine?  He said no.

    On a happier note:

And here's my recipe for spaghetti bolognese:

Krammerbooks & Afterwords at Connecticut and 19th st!

    Delish....

Work stress will probably finish killing me off at this point. I shall resign myself to my fate and die with dignity.

It is raining here and we may get some wet snow. Ugly day.

I used to collect them.  Would wait until boxing day but no longer have the courage to do that so my collection will remain as is.

Today is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. It's also the 2nd anniversary of my diagnosis day. :(  It's a date I will not forget.

Blue-your angels and tree are beautiful. Is that really your dog's house? Pretty fancy.

Blue, WOW! Did you have help with that? EVERYTHING is lovely. I am tired out just reading about your cooking, baking, and now the decorating. (now we know where wonder woman really retired).

And the cutest is the "puppie" in the kennel. Of my, feeling healing from that even without the puppy kisses.

Blue - tree and angels are beautiful so is pup!  I have no idea what kind of drug Emend is but it sure made me get through chemo without puking - not even once - wonder why your doc said no - might be because it'll cause problems with your other drugs - isn't there anything else he can prescribe?

    Beautiful tree, Blue!

Re the emend question:  I seem to remember that both emend and kytril are anti-nausea drugs that prevent  nausea by interrupting the signal from the brain to the stomach, which is why we have to take the pill before we start feeling nauseous.  So perhaps they do interfere with the other drugs that Blue is taking.

I always have a million questions to ask and forgot to ask why.  Just took his word for it.  I also forgot to ask about Dr. Janetta's surgical cure.  Oh well, it's in trials right now...will ask in May.

Scuttlers, I do things very slowly.  No more multi-tasking for me.  Ray handed me the decorations and I put them on the tree.  Just love Christmas.

Emend is VERY expensive and I think it's only meant to be taken over 3 days - it came in a pack of 3.

I collect teddy bears - DD said she couldn't sleep in our room while we were away as they creeped her out :) - they are in a china cabinet, they're only tiny ones.

Linda, I love cinnamon, too. I might have to try putting some cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves or cardamom in it. Thanks for the suggestion.

    susie, what are scratchies?

rosemary, you can also get Sky Bars at The Vermont Country Store:

Rosemary - I DIDN'T know AI's can cause high blood sugar.  Jeeeeez- what's next?  Mine went from 90 to 106 - to (get ready for it) 123!    From all my googling, I thought it might be cuz of the Fish Oil, which helped me get my cholesteral DOWN 20 points to 185 .

I am SO confuzzled - what can we do if it IS the AI?  Im supposed to be on it for at least another 5 years ( 10 total) - the mind boggles.  Meanwhile, I will not scurry up to the Vermont Country Store to buy SkyBars ( drooling just thinking of them, and Charleston Chews) - and I'm now taking Chromium Picolinate, and Cinnamon, and Apple Cider Vinegar to try to get the blood sugar down.

BLUE - I THINK LINDA IS RIGHT ABOUT THE EMEND.  Darn - no wonder it worked so well during chemotherapy. I love your angels, and the peacock feathers.  Inspiring how much effort you put into creating such a beautiful display.  I still have some angel candles from when I was 5 too.

I also have an extensive porcelain doll collection which Ray doesn't want me to display.  Am now waiting for granddaughters to pass them onto.

First day, no nausea......actually got to drink my coffee and enjoyed it.  Ahhh, the little things in life......Yeeeeeehaaaaaaaw!

Blue - great news about the coffee - party on!

Sun - Yes, it's true AIs will raise your blood sugar - do you have a diabetes management clinic near you (I work as a volunteer in one here locally) they are staffed with nurses and dieticians who have extensive knowledge of the disease and can help you plan a diet and appropriate exercise program to keep the bs low - you may also need drugs (a pill) if your diet and exercise doesn't get the bs down - I had to give up the AIs as I had every se listed up to and including out of control bs and chloresterol - everything is back to normal now.  Good luck!

YEAH, BLUE.  Such good news - may it last for a very, very, very long time.

Thanks Sandy - I can't stop taking the Arimidex - really even more important in my case than the chemotherapy was....

going to buy a meter - and see if what I'm doing lowers it...thanks again.  There is nothing in all the SE's of AI's mentioning raised blood sugar...I'm not surprised, but saddened for those who don't hae the access to information we do...

Hi Girls - Busker Tim was there today, but he has a new guitar as he wore the old one out - I didn't like it and neither does he. Still, I got treated to a couple of my favourite Neil Young songs.

The weekend awaits - Xmas party at some dude's house (I've never met him) - should be interesting. One of us will have to go teetotal as it's quite a long way from here and the cops are on the ball. DH met him on a biking trip - says he's nice.

On the Mother front, she told our DD she is only coming up to us for Xmas because she will be there. I've got a good mind to uninvite her!!! It was only recently that DD made up with her after a fight a couple of years ago when she was staying with DD in Adelaide and she packed up and took off - a common occurrence. Not looking forward to Xmas day at all - crazy b^%&h!!!

Thanks all. Getting ready to take off. From what I understand, the tracer takes two hours to get into the bones so I will probably come back home for a couple hours then go back. Ugh.

{{Sandy}} May we both be oh so boring today!!

Susie, sorry your mother is such a pooper. Kill her with kindness.
