Glad you're feeling okay, Sandy.  I'm okay- just not looking forward to the inconvenience.  Especially the next 3 weeks with Christmas right in the middle of it.  It's deja vu all over again - had bunionectomy 2 yrs ago 2 days before xmas.  DH had to make dinner for my parents - but it was the first xmas I hosted them.  We always went to their house before that. I was a little miffed that they picked THAT year - finished rads 11/30 and had foot surgery 12/23- to have me start being responsible for cooking the holiday meals, but my mother is getting pretty bad with her "memory" problems.  She doesn't go to the doctor, so we don't know what exactly she has, but it must be some sort of dementia.  She still has her sense of humor, but has a lot of trouble figuring things out and remembering things.  At Thanksgiving, she had trouble finding the light switch in the bathroom.  She would go in and look to the right of the door and when it wasn't there, she got confused.  Heartbreaking.   They would always have turkey, but I didn't want DH to have to deal with turkey, so we had roast beef and ziti.  My mother doesn't like much - but ziti is a safe bet.  This year, I'll probably have someone take the turkey in and out of the oven for me and stand with my knee on a chair at the counter for everything else.  Should be fun.  I think I will just order everyone around - put those lazy kids to work.

Getting ready to take the annual "kids in front of the xmas tree" pics.  Probably sans light sabers this year - lol.  Usually use those pics to make xmas postcards.  haven't done it the last couple yrs - figured I'd better get back to it.

I read it as porn, first too.  LOL!

Chris, if your family likes ham, it is the easoest thing to cook.  It comes all cooked, you just glaze and heat.  Good luck with your surgery.

    Hi All,

If you want to see the picture of us gals that met at the Glenview in Chelmsford, go on the Boston Area Thread.  Look for the silly lady with the crooked mouth, that would be me. LOL

Chris just take care of yourself...

Deb love the pix and the one on FB

Seyla, bought OCF and forgot that I didn't like the general tao's and got it, so gave it to Michael...

    1. Unfortunatelly, am not putting up decorations or a tree cause 1) they don't deserve it; 2) don't sit in the livingroom where it would be; 3) can't smell and just a reminder that I can't; 4) have to do all the stuff myself, and can't carry the stuff upstairs and they won't, s, o for the 2nd year in a row, nothing.....not buying any gifts either, can't afford it and I have 6 grandchildren and if I buy for 1 have to buy for all, so nothing......but I buy all year long for some of them, the others....don't talk or bother with me so .....whatever....told them I didn't want anything either......but not feeling sorry for myself, it is what it is, and I am ok......liked the holidays more when my kids were young, now they have their own families....

Sandy, why not put a small tree up just for you?  Maybe a small present for you too!  No one has to know!

    Great pics Deb!

Sandy...You know what it's better if you are not gonna do it from the heart.

Treat yourself generously as often as you can.

I treated DD in Hawaii and ordered Wolfgang cookware from HSN and it's shipping directly thereSmile

I don't know what DD in NY needs. i love this online shopping.

Deb...I saw them on FB. Maybe one day we will  get all together like that and I need more than couple of hours.

In my household the girls bought and put tree up mostly every year but I had to take it down. One year it stayed up until mid February. Why Not???????

Chris...I know how difficult it is to watch someone to go slowly down.

You take care of yourself after surgery. Why do you have to cook? I sent you my personal chef.

I only put up a few things. Small tree in the bay window and a ceramic tree my Mom made a long time ago wreath on the doors and lighted garland on the lamp post outside.  That's it.

My house is lit up like a Christmas Tree.  lol.   There are wreaths on every window, and the garage and the shed, spot lights and trees with lights on them.  I hate the spot lights.  My DH LOVES THEM!!!  He turns into Father Christmas this time of year.  My house has Christmas EVERYWHERE!!!!  I do like it but it's a lot of work.
