Back to work tomorrow-it's been a nice 5 days off.
So begins the long, downhill slide of maintaining students' interest in the next 3 1/2 weeks before Winter break.....

Between dresses, shoebox-sized dwellings and "worth it" I think we've covered the first 24 hours of marriage in just two pages.

Then there's Niagara Falls, which, Oscar Wilde said, was "the second disappointment of marriage" (he was gay, remember).
Off my silly soapbox and to bed. 'Night all!
-
Silly is back. Morning all!
-
Morning, Athena. Morning all. Ugh. Back to the hated job.
-
Hey I'm up. I feel like that's an accomplishment today. Rad onc appointment today. That is always just in and out. Oh and my cold got worse over the weekend. I am on amoxycillin. See you all later.
-
Blue...What a gorgeous dress. The girl in it ain't too bad either. Oh, the days, when I had a figure like that. The AI's just wont allow any weight loss.
My wedding dress was $85.00 on sale and I was quite proud that I made such a nice purchase and I even liked the dress. $7,000, is insane! I watch "Say yes, to the dress", all the time and it boggles my mind what the prices are.....and the parents are willing to pay it.....if my baby likes it.

-
Started my back to work week with a bang! My blow dryer sparked and blew up as I was using it this morning. No time to rush out and buy a new one before work, so I'm a curly girl today!

artsee, I know. I offerred to pay for it but $7000 is a bit steep! Gonna see if I can get it from the manufacturer as per sewingnut's advice.
-
Otherwise we will picket you with signs saying "It's worth it" until you relent, Blue.

Barbara, hope something better turns up soon.
I have been doing this all day....
...in a manner of speaking (from my desk)....and already feeling like doing this:

Alas, the day is still young!

HELLO EVERYBODY! I am sorry that I have concerned some with my long absence. Thank you for the call and emails. The apple season at our orchard was crazy. We were sooo busy which is great but was unexpected with no advertising or effort on our part. After that, we had a ton of showings which kept us pretty busy. No sale yet, but lots of interest.
Dh and I just returned home from a 21/2 week trip to our favourite destination...Disney! The weather was awesome and we are refreshed and ready to take on the Christmas Season.
I have been checking in occassionally to see what's up but clearly I have missed out on a lot of food tallk, weddings and lioness pics. Anything I should know in case I don't read all the way through? I have to go to work soon (bah humbug!) so I won't be doing much reading today.
I did see that we lost our dear Nikki. I was so sad to see that. So very sad. I hope she is riding her palimino along side my daughter right now. Cassie loved paliminoes.
Okay, I will do some scanning here before I have to get ready to go to work. I am happy to be back with my friends.
-
Thank you for checking in PIP!
-
OOOH! PIP!!! So happy to see you!!! HappyLibby is HappierLibby now that we know you're OK!

Hello, Pip! Nice to see you. We may have seen each other in Disney without knowing it. I was at one of the resort hotels - not for fun but for a conference.
Hope you enjoyed all of the parks. -
One of our favourite things to do is to visit all the resorts. Which one were you at?
-
I was at the Contemporary - didn't get to see much outside of that and the Monorail. However, I have gone to Disney since childhood. I used to worship Magic Kingdom. Now, I actually prefer Sea World and Busch Gardens in Tampa for animals and the Universal non-MGM one for rides. Oh, but what paradise I thought I was in when I first visited Magic Kindom at age 5! I still remember the song "It's a Small World After All." It was all so magical. There was no internet back then or even 24-hour cartoon channel. It was truly magical.
Where did you stay, Pip? Which parks did you visit?
-
Pip Pip Hooray! So GOOD to see you again! We suspected you might have had some fun in the sun lately. Sending mucho cyberhugs to you!
-
Waving hi to Pip. Good to have you back.

Morning girls!!
The first day of the course was OK. I hated going in on the bus at a later time - took forever. Coming home, I waited and waited and the bus finally came - had to call the vet to make sure I'd make it in time to liberate Poppy. She seems happy to be home and is lying on the floor near me now, waiting for me to go upstairs so she can get more food. Looks like she's been chewing her furr on her tummy again, so I'll have to take her for a cortisone shot again. We don't know if it's stress (the vet holiday) or the weather. She did this last year and the shot fixed her up but she eats a lot after.
DH's pc still a mess, I'm trying not to get too stressed, but it's hard. The F word has been flying around a lot. I'm just going to approach it slowly and not let it take over my life.
Hope the bus trip is a bit quicker today - now I know why I go in at 7am everyday - no traffic!!
Sue

Good morning, SusieQ! You can take Poppy on the bus?? Not sure we can do that here.
Welcome back, Pip!! So glad to hear that you're fine, no, much better than just plain old fine. Glad you had a wonderful trip!
-
Well, in spite of working today, I still have the vaccation glow! Thanks for all your welcome backs.
Athena, we may have crossed paths but not too closely. Although we passed by the Contemporary several times, we did not go in on this trip. In February we will be stopping in there to eat at the California Grill. One of our favourite things to do is visit all the different Disney Resorts. They are just as awesome as the parks.
We stay at a place that borders on Disney World. We have been staying there since the 80's. It is absolutely beautiful.
"Enjoyous"? When did that happen?
-
That is a funny story that you missed, Pip. Our very brainy E decided to changed her name to enjoyfool as a joke, then she changed back.....I will let her tell you.
Susie, a country that lets cats on buses is truly civilized, I say. Better luck tomorrow.
-
PiP !!!!!! I'm so happy to see you! Glad you had such a great vacation.
Sorry I've been so scarce here myself. Belated thanksgiving thanks to all of you for being so great!
Athena -- thinking of you and sending lots of wishes that all goes very well.
Blue -- what a gorgeous dress! OMG! But your daughter will look gorgeous no matter what!
(((((((((everyone)))))))))
-
Poppy doesn't come on the bus with me, I was trying to get home in time to pick her up from the vet because we had left her there for the weekend while we were away. However, I did see a dog on the metro in Paris - that was really weird - it wasn't a seeing eye dog.
Hate to mention it - but it's been really hot here - 34 on Saturday - no rain, no storms - causing me to actually have swims in the pool. Sorry, I hope I don't upset the ladies in the colder climates

Training course all done - back to work tomorrow to my new desk - sigh.
Sue
-
PiP, welcome back. Missed you! Next time you are down here, PM me and I may be able to meet you for lunch/cocktails.
Thanks, Athena. One day at a time.
So today is a software demo and the hated regular job. Ugh.
Susie, it was 80 over the holiday then a cold front came in last night and the high today and tomorrow will only be 70. But then back in the mid 70's Wednesday and through the weekend. The month with the strangest weather is January where it can be roasting or freezing then February is awesome and March-May is fab.
-
Ahhhh...sanity. It's good to be here.
-
Good morning all! I've been reading to keep track of everybody but no interesting happenings here to report ... which is actually a good thing sometimes.
Beautiful dress blue ... but the 'tightwad' in me about had a stroke when you gave the price. Hope you have luck finding it elsewhere for less.
I've been complaining about the rain. Unfortunately Mother Nature seems to have heard me ... she's turning it into snow tonight they say. Not the response I had in mind

susieq ... maybe it would be easier on you to buy your DH a new computer for Christmas??
rosemary ... hope your cold is better.
And I can't go back a page and see what else I've missed without losing this so I'm going to post and then go check on everybody's latest. Hope everybody is having a good week.
-
Barbara, I saw that you were on a cruise during our first week in Fla so I didn't plan anything then. We are back again in Feb for 2 weeks and would love to meet up with you. Maybe we could sit in on one of your dh's singing gigs?
Hey AnnNYC...good to see you.
Now I am going to scour the previous pages to find "enjoyous'" story. Can anyone give me a page number to start with?
