My dogs ate my homework from sewing class last night. I had the papers in my Fluffy Butts Rescue Resort bag. I came in set the bag down and went off to the bathroom. One my way back I hear crinkling and there they are tearing the papers to shreds. The pulled them right out of the bag! Of course themost important pages are shreds with importnat info surely digested in their sweet little tummies! I have emailed for a copy.
I was excited about completing the project. It is an embroidered wreath with bells and will make into a doily. Watching the machine embroider I felt rather like a cat, it was mesmerizing. I came home full of energy and even got up early today hoping to be able to continue the project. Except for our granddaughter I haven't felt that sort of energy for a long while.
On the other hand my husband called home for some billing info that I aparently handeled some weeks ago. I do not remember what document he is talking about. That is disturbing. Ahh Maybe the dogs ate it!
Isabella after my levity at my dogs behavior I saw your post. I am so sorry you lost your dog. I know you take good care of them and give them the very best of life and I hope that comforts you. Our little friends break our hearts don't they. I do hope our friends are there waiting for us someday.
Have a good day all I am off to a quilt show with DD and adorable Granddaughter.
Hugs GInger

So very sorry Isabella. It's just hard. I do believe there is a dogs Heaven. My little one is getting old and I wonder about her future. God Bless and I hope your day is peaceful and blessed.

BarbA, I knew those pics would be coming. You look like a high-steppin' doll! I know you like to rock-n-roll but, when it's the ship, that is no fun. (Just reading made me queasy.)
Barbe, I need a crap carpet for my poor older dog...wall-to-wall crap carpet. She is getting that neuropathy in her haunches and the whole rear must be affected since every now and then she plops one out and doesn't seem to notice. The only saving grace is she only has access to one carpeted room in the house, and it's older carpet which will get replaced when she is gone.

ohh, girls, the truth is; our furbabies aresoo much of our life, and its' so hard when we lose them!!! i know you were good to her, till the end, Isabella.. its' what we wished people wpould do for us, so well done!i'm so sorry for this morning; that's the worst part. something i always do myself, too..
Hugs, rest, have tea, and listen to your music......3jays

Thanks for the commiserations...it's always hard, even tho' I have quite a lot of little dogs each and every one is different, and they think more of me than my children seem to do. I put up with their occasional ( hahaha) puddles. They are NOT allowed on any of my carpeted rooms, tho' they have the run of the kitchen...which used to be 4 rooms...so is quite big, and they have a conservatory of their own. ...plus their heated night kennels where they all get chased into at bedtime. We all get along nicely with this arrangement.
Ginger...I had to laugh at your dogs....can just imagine them. One of the reasons I am so crazy about small dogs is they CANNOT reach onto my table nor kitchen counters to steal things....but these little indiscretions are why we think so much about them ! Are you doing the embroidery project because it's winter, or do you do them all year round ?
I love to do tapestry when I am that side out. I have one on my frame at the moment, a canvas of an almost lifesized Pug....I haven't touched it for a year tho'. I think I must have started it about 4 years ago....it'll probably never get finished !!
Been out to a Christmas Craft Fair today...didn't buy much as it was all too expensive , there were some very unusual things there, but I've stopped spending just because I like it, then plonking it in a drawer and forgetting about it. I DID get a very pretty print of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a pale pink chiffon scarf, 2 unusual plant pot holders, and a big enamel bowl filled with hyacinths which were just starting to bud. Went for a meal afterwards at a little country pub, log fires, candles on the tables .... a fantastic meal, great big gammon steak (I couldn't finish it it was so big) and the most decadent fresh cream confection you can imagine....couldn't eat that either ! The wine was good, so I had 2 glasses...I like my wine when I get going, and wasn't driving so hey...why not? And if you're wondering, I wasn't alone !!!!. Good day out .
I got back to bad news. My ram I bought last year....the ugliest sheep on the planet... had dropped down dead. He had suddenly become very thin over the last week. I had the 'foot trimmer man' come yesterday. He brings with him a very funny animal crush. You walk the animal in, then the machine turns the animals either on their sides, or upside down, crated up tightly so they can't move a muscle...and they all HATE it. The trimmer does all the cattle and sheep feet before they come in for the winter. The Jersey cows are just so indignant you wouldn't believe, they won't have anything to do with me this morning....but boy, can they walk better. While we have them upside down we worm everything, and give a shot of antibiotics, just as a cover against anything they might get coming into the buildings. The old ram ( well, not old, he was only about 5-6) got his feet trimmed, his shot, and wormer, but looked decidedly fragile. I was going to ring the vet to come this morning, but he had died overnight. I shall miss his ugly mug watching me whenever I drove by him...but he was not to be trusted for me to turn my back on him...I might have done years ago, but now have no chance of getting out of the way of an irate animal. We have a big bonfire ready to burn, lots of wood been piling up for weeks, so that's where the ram will end up tomorrow....consumed by fire ! No-one fancies digging a great big hole for him.
On that note I will retire for my shower.
Isabella.

hugs to all....uplifting ones, and comforting ones, and ones...just because
windows - we got two new windows downstairs a couple weeks ago and I called my next door neighbor to tell her I just now noticed the color of her house!!!! honestly, it's amazing how you just gradually get used to the windows getting a little darker..and then darker still, and then you just kind of stop expecting to see anything out of them. Now everytime I walk through my living room I laugh, cause it's like BAM, look at that!!! lol
-
marlegal - thanks for the hug and I'm thinking I'm one of the ones huh? Congrads on the new windows, I love getting new things added to my home, more especially when the items add a new enlightenment to me or the family. Fun and enjoyable.
Isabella I had a friend who walked into a situation with one of the goats on her farm. She was in her 60s and walked out to find the goat and two sheep in her yard. She went to chase them out and the goat turned and rammed her against the house. Put her in the hospital with broken ribs and contusions on her upper torso. Sound like things are changing a lot for you. It's funny how that happens when we go through these type of health experiences in our lives. Hang in there. Was happy to hear you got out and had what sounds to be a very lovely day.
Ginger I can relate. My kids claim I have half-timers since all this started. I laugh to myself as I feel very lucky to be able to blame my memory lapses on something like BC. Those lapses have been going on for some years. But now, LOL, it's not me it's the illness. Whose gonna argue.
SoCal- My father was killed in World War II and my first boyfriend - in VietNam. Thanks. Watch over them all where ever they are, and comfort their families.
3jays- I have a friend that's a vet and after seeing her home with her babies I am at the point of believing there is only one solution. Get that bottle of odor killer from Petco and keep it on hand because pets are gonna be pets. Now I will admit there are rare people with animals that have the perfect home and the perfect pets....just no one on this thread. LOL - and yet we still love those little twits! Go figure.
-
Awe Isabella, sorry to hear that your old dog passed but blessings to you for allowing it to go naturally.
Mt little dog gets naughty sometimes, particularly when it's wet outside and drops one where she thinks I won't find it. Thank goodness that's not too often.
Barb, glad to see you home safe and sound and happy that you had such a good time. Love your wedding dred by the way, and you look fab!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi ladies!
Wonder if you spirited wonderful ladies could lead a supportive hand.
In the "Not diagnosed but Concerned" forum there is an older lady in her 70's that is looking at a possible positive Dx.
Her US showed a highly suspicious area that the radiologist is highly concerned over.
I was thinking that perhaps some of you could be helpful in these early stages. She is a widow with no children and is scared (obviously) about this.
The thread she started is "highly suspicious ultrasound"
Thanks

So sorry to hear about your dog.((((((Hugs)))))))

For those of you who know about my friend Cyndi, who I knew from the treatment room at my onco's...she passed away last night. Her husband called me this morning. I visited her yesterday morning at hospice before leaving to come to my Dad's and knew it would not be long. It is just a dirty rotten shame.....she was a sweet good person and it was only in the last few weeks that she no longer gave me that sweet smile of hers when I would go visit. Even when she was shuffling along because of neuropathy and had arms the size of telephone poles from lymphedema, she would always say, It could be worse. She was my inspiration, the one who made me realize that I have had it easy. The sad part of this is that it was not cancer that killed her.....she was in remission when she stopped her treatments and stopped because the chemo had left her with so many SEs.....alas, the SEs never left, just got worse and she had congestive heart failure as well as swallowing issues from rads near her esophagus. I can't get the way she looked yesterday morning out of my head....it just seems so unfair.

so sorry Marybe...

BarbaraA, I loved seeing your cruise photos -- and the photos at the top of the page. (I was a certified scuba diver.) I also noticed that your diagnosis was quite similar to mine: 1b IDC, 1 cm tumor and me 1/3 positive nodes. Can I ask what treatments you had and how you're doing??
Many thanks.

Marybe:
So sorry about your friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Urrggghh, totally wacked out old bird here today !! I have just never let up for 3 days, and am really feeling it now. I have sold a whole litter of puppies since Friday. Just getting them ready to go, bathing, grooming, doing their ears and nails, checking out all their pedigrees and registration forms are done, then having to talk to a whole family who will arrive to pick their puppy up, repeating, repeating repeating 'do this' 'don't do that'...it is hard work. I used to love it, but now it's a chore ! Now I listen out for 'phone calls from panicking new owners for the next day or two !!
I am also having one h*ll of a ride with my new Alsation puppy who came on Saturday morning. She has been 2 days of sheer hard work. She jumped out of the car that brought her all clean and fluffy, and now looks like something that's just come out of the jungle. I have tried 3 different places to try and settle her, but all she wants to do is sit and throw back her head and howl. Last night was the pits...normally dog noises do not bother me, but this was something else !! She doesn't want her food, her water, her biscuits. She doesn't want any toys nor the big bones I was told she was mad about. She won't sleep in a plastic bed, a soft bed, a rug or on just a blanket. She won't go sit under the heater, which is only on low, and sits shivering on bare floor. I had her outside a while this afternoon today just padding slowly around the yard while I cleared my car out. She had to be 1" from my legs all the time. The day here was drippy and miserable and was muddy underfoot, so the dog is drippy and miserable with a muddy coat , and it ain't going to dry out sat miles from the heater on a cold concrete floor. I can't put her with anyone else yet as she came un vaccinated. I gave her the first shot yesterday, but she has another 2 weeks 'til the second shot, and being with other dogs. I've never had this trouble with a dog settling before, hope she will soon find her feet (AND the heater) and begin to eat and look half decent again. One good thing she is a very good looking dog, very alert, and she has been no trouble at all with the cats. She hadn't encountered cats before, so I was told, but she just sat watching them today, no sign of trouble there ...YET. I have very rarely bought just one dog on it's own over the years, it's much easier to get two, and bring them up together, never any trouble settling in, but having got one Alsation already I DO NOT want to end up with 3 !
My 2 Grandsons G/Fs have both got a new puppy each this weekend. The G/sons have bought them one each, early Christmas presents, both Chinese Crested dogs, like DD has. Names....Pixie and Tea Pot !!! I HOPE they will care for them properly. Both are coming over to see me tomorrow for their shots , so I shall be reading the riot act. One I know will be fine, but the younger GF is very ditsy, and HOW she will go on cleaning up after a puppy I dread to think! If she gets something a bit nasty down her long false nails there will be a call going out for an ambulance !! The ditsy GF called in to see me on Saturday morning still in her PYJAMAS. (that's how we spell it !!) Goodness knows what she would do if the car was to break down...this was 11.30am !!
Where would we be without these mad things going on all around us !!
Isabella.
-
Marybe, I'm so sorry. Lighting a candle for you both.
-
ohh, Isabella: there's never a dull moment with you!!!congratulations on selling the puppies, but all over a weekend, is mad. what a lot of extra work!!!
sounds like the Aliston has seperation anxiety, yeh? she'll (he'll) settle in soon, i hope. needs to just get used to the new "scene" good cause he doesn't mind the cats...
i hhope i'll find you in bed, resting with your radio today.... you deserve it!!!
im so sorry about the ram, dastardly; and im glad you enjoyed the trip to the pub for luck (with comoany, as well.. wink wink..) .....3jays

its good to see you here Maya.. myy MIL came home from the hospital today, a flurry of phone calls, and we finallly got a nurse to pick hher up, as Mur was at the airport , picking up his sister. she'll stay for a week or so, to let him go back to work...............................3jays
-
Isabella so sorry about your ram. Hi gals, too busy. Have I told you how much I hate my job?
-
3jays, thanks for the welcome. I'm very glad your mother-in-law is home. I hope she is feeling better. She's had such a hard time of it lately.
-
Isabella, I'm sorry about your dog and also your ram. What a weekend you had, especially with the "old" puppies and the new one too. I don't see how you do all you do, but more power to you! Re the pyjamas (see, I spelled it the same just for you), I've noticed around here I often see young girls and even (shudder) grown women in pajama bottoms in grocery stores and I simply don't understand it. None of us would ever dream of such a thing, but so it is. A few times I've even seen MEN in pajama bottoms.
3jays, glad MIL is out of the hospital and doubly glad about Mur's sister coming to stay with her!
Barbara, thanks for the pictures. The one of you and Marty is gorgeous!
Long day today. Had a dinner meeting at church tonight. DH cooked for it and spent the afternoon there so I had 2 year old GS by myself all afternoon---am colored, and blocked, and read out. When I left the church tonight I saw a big black dog, obviously hit by a car and obviously dead, by the side of the road, so called the couple I believe owned him so they could check. I'll find out tomorrow if it was indeed their dog (DD teaches with the woman) but I strongly suspect it was. I just do not understand how someone can hit an animal and just keep driving. That just put a damper on an otherwise good day.
Hope you're doing okay today, Marybe. Thinking of you.

I used to have a recurring bad dream about going to high school in my nightgown. It was a great surprise to me many years later while teaching to see students come to school on purpose wearing their pyjama pants - and occasionaly even slippers. What a surprise to see them doing on purpose what I considered a bad dream. When I asked one girl why she wore that, she said "because it's comfortable". Yes, it probably is - but . . . . .
Now I have occasional dreams about going back to teaching, not knowing what to do and having forgotten to wear a top. In the most recent dream, my trusty secretary had left a new outfit on my desk because she knew such things would happen. In reality, as a public service, I wear daytime clothes whenever I go out.
-
lassie always afraid you'll forget something for your class and leave it at home or the more common fear of being vulnerable in the class. I guess I figure as long as they don't come dressed in something made for Madonna we're doing okay. LOL
-
retired is the best gig yet. I don't have to remember stuff any more!
-
Here is something I did in high school 50 years ago. I was late and running for the bus when I saw a flash of blue. I screech to a stop, spin around, and race back to my house. The blue was my cancan slip! I had forgotten to put on my skirt, my pink skirt!
Today I can drive past any high school and there are girls wearing my cancan slip, boldly and apparently without fear of ridicule. I have to admit I wish I could have worn MY cancan slip without a covering because it was really beautiful. The top layer was a light blue chiffon, it had some little tiny ribbon flowers in some of the seam lines, very soft and it was so pretty.
