Rosemary, Congrats!!! How cool! You will do fine with the reheasal dinner! All the best!
-
It sure seems everyone has something doesn't it?
I hope the Aromasin works. It didn't for me. That was the first AI my Dr. put me on. I was so stiff I could hardly use my hair cutting shears. Femara was better, still some joint pain and my hair falls out a lot and the generic pill is cause slight headaches. All documented s/e.
Susieq....I don't want to scare you, but I've learned to not trust everything that has been told to me. You have to be your own Advocate. When I started this whole thing almost 4 years ago I was told my lump was 'squshi' not to worry. But I didn't want any stones to be left unturned so I insited on a biopsy and guess what? You know the rest of the story because I wouldn't be here posting in this website. Take care of yourself.
-
Rosemary - how wonderful. Hope you all have the most memorable experience. Such a happy occassion.
Artsee - I looked up the SE's for Aromasin - YIKES! The tiredness, weakness is much more than shown for Arimidex. And HAIR LOSS - thanks, but been there done that. Darn. Looks like it's Arimidex. TIme to really, REALLLLLLLY hope/PRAY the clinical trial going on ow - for women who have been on an AI for at least 4 years - shows that 9 months ON the meds, and 3 months OFF works as well as the everyday we do now.
SusieQ - I second what Artsee says about being your own advocate - so true. Don't be afraid of really being insistent about what you want.
-
Just checking my new tagline. I do kill myself laughing sometimes. heheheheh!
-
Artsee - it's not a breast lump but a lymph node - much different situation as I have had a cold virus.
-
I'm feeling like such a rock star. Did you ladies know that my every word is being watched. hahahahaha! Oh well!
-
Are they at it again? Sheesh.
-
Oooohhh...Blue - lets sing a song to who ever is watching...where art thou being watched - pleeez don't tell me the review site is at it agaain....or has some banned person come back as a newbie???
eta - nope, not the creepy review site - thank God - if it's a site where you used to post, I don't go there ;-))))) Off to my Botanical Art class - would anyone be surprised if I said it was RAINING, RAINING....oh, my....SUN, please?
-
Sunflowers, doesn't matter. I'm such a thriller......they just can't help themselves. hahahahahah!
-
Sunflowers. I am very interested in learning more about gluten free or anything else that will help my aching body. I was on Tamox for 2 years. I got used to the leg cramos, aches etc. Then I started on Aromasin almost 3 moths ago. It was great at first and the I have been on a downward spiral. My feet, hands, hips...everything aches. My hands are feeling so bad now that I have a bit more difficulty writing for any length of time. Trying to squeeze fruot and veggies in the produce departartment is just to hard for me. I'm only 50 and feel like I have tuned 90 in a matter of weeks. Do you think the gluten free and any other anti inflammatory foods will help. Any info or names of books would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Beth
-
Blue - you are a thriller

'OVER THERE' is THE most ridiculous place I've ever been - are they mentally disabled maybe? They have the hide to ask for donations???? What's up with that - no credibility whatsoever.
-
Susie, if it's not about me, I don't read it. hahahahahaha! My ego is getting bigger by the minute......I love it!
-
All I know is I'm proud to be a libtard.
Edited to add-and sometimes I almost wish I was Canadian.

Pickles, I found this site for gluten free recipes. I haven't looked through it, but it looks like there are many recipes on it.
-
Thanks Blue. I will read it when I get home.I just watched a documentary called Forks over Knives, and although I am a true skeptic at heart, the subject of diet was very intriguing. It's the inflammation and aches that are driving me crazy I'm off to a gluten filled restaurant with the girls to celebrate a bday.
I appreciate your reply.

hello all.
I am trying really hard to be productive at work which means I read the forum a bit and post the occassional kvetch but the fact remains, I cannot keep up with you people, you are too darned chatty!!!! Darn all of you!

About the gluten thing-- a coworker went off gluten and noticed a significant difference in a couple of weeks. She tells me that stopping for a couple of weeks and then having a sandwich was enough--because of how bad the bread made her feel--told her she was intolarant.
DH says he is going to go gluten free starting in two weeks. He tried it before but I don't think he noticed too much difference (I think he was sneaking french bread and cheese, thats what I think!). Not sure what the heck he plans to do with all the pumpkin beer he has been brewing. . . . .then again some people say that the alcohol/fermentation process eats up the gluten.
Tonight is the last night of our local farmer's market---boo hoo! I am very sorry to see it close for the season as I love the social aspect but then again, it will make Wednesdays easier as Wednesday is also yoga night.
Fresh roasted salmon for dinner with probably potatoes and some salad. Wish I had thought to make a dessert.
in haste!
-
Sandy sweetie - please check in! Concerned friends need to know how your appointment went!
Blue, you're totally a rock star and always have been. I can't read anything in the alternate universe; the proudly rampant misspellings, blinking-jumping-barfing emoticons, and blithering hatred is too much for me to handle. Yes, I said blithering. For those interested in spelling, here's a cute link:
http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling
I hear that gluten-free eating is gaining traction in the general public. I've tried it before and didn't notice a difference, but it can't hurt to try again. Who knows? Maybe it'll work this time.
-
Enjoyful- "blinking-jumping-barfing emoticons". Ha!
Mary
-
Pickles,
In addtion to gluten free, there are so many things - check out the AI SE's thread started by Lowrider in the Hormone Forum. I also know that acupuncture has really helped me keep mobile.
-
E, love the link.
-
Seriously, BARFING emoticons. No further comment on that topic.
Blue - you can order a spelling poster at that site. Isn't that a wonderful thing?
-
Can Canadians order one too?
-
I don't see why not. Though some of the words may not have the Canadian spelling.
-
Good to know we aren't disliked by everyone.
-
I love me my Canadians!
-
Over there is so over.
-
E........blithering, I like that word....heehee
Sorry for you guys having SE's
What a crazy nite, should have turned around and gone home at the first clue, things just went from stupid to ridiculously stupid and ended up with me smashing into one of our agency vehicles with another agency vehicle.........ahhhhhhhhh!! Great! Guess I'll face the music in the morning!
OTO...........Canadian girls rock!
K......need a stiff one after tonites fiasco!
-
Gosh I am still laughing about barfing emoticons - fits - everytime I've gone "over there" I've felt like barfing and whoever said over there is over was right.
O.K. according to the echo report I have severe left atrial enlargement and moderate pulmonary hypertension - PCP is sending me to a cardiologist, they have tunnel vision just like some oncs do and I find them very frustrating to deal with - as I told my PCP I haven't studied up on the heart the way I have on everything else - she thought that was pretty funny - anyway she doesn't know why the enlargement as it was normal last August she said it could just be the way my heart is going as I age but obviously it has to be checked out - they may give me drugs and I obviously won't be running any marathons - I wasn't planning to anyway and I do walk a lot and that isn't going to be curtailed in anyway - the funny thing is I feel better than I have in the last three years - I hate that this has happened.
The good news is my blood report was back and PCP was very pleased everything was great - shoot even my LDL was lower - almost to normal so guess now I'll wait for the appointment and see where we go from there.
We're having quite an interesting evening here in Burlington and probably through most of the region - very heavy rain and high winds - poor dog has been drenched twice and has gone to bed - I managed to dry her off but she sure needs to be brushed - she looked like a drowned rat and I felt like one.
-
Sunflowers and 3moms: Thanks for the info. What is the AI Se's started by Lowrider? Do you have a link?
Thanks
Beth
-
Well girls - I made the appointments for next week. I also called the breast clinic to find out if they do cover the axilla when they do an ultrasound - they do. They were SO nice and even put a doc on the phone to talk to me. She said the surgeons often send people back for another check and not to worry too much. Now we have to hope the goitre biopsy is OK.
