The E-LAB Project

Sandee - I'm still on Thursday, and I thought you were jumping the gun until I saw your mention of Halifax - you're already into Friday while most of us (not blessed with insomnia) are sleeping. Just a little LOL for me - the silliest things make me giggle at this time of night...

End of September Challenge
Remember to post your personal water requirements and progress today! Names will go in a hat and a winner will be drawn.
Best of Luck to all the Birdies!
-
Checking in for "The Flock" (I think most of the Robins, Cranes, Hummingbirds and Roadrunners have flown the coop) So we birdies (that haven't gone south) have to stick together.
Friday 3 pts
Wt Down(172) 2 pts
Exercise 10 pts
Elab low 1 pt
Water 7 pt
Total 23 pts
End of Sept Challenge...My cup is 16 oz and I drank (all of the recommended) 5 1/2 cups on one day. I hit 4 cups one day and over 2 all the rest of the days.
-
Roadrunner checking in:
Friday check in = 3 points
weight is 224, down 3 lbs from my last check in! = 2 points
exercise = 2 points
water = 7 points
extra credit: got through a sinus CT without having a panic attack! Of course, now I need sinus surgery. . .
Total = 14 points
-
Another Roadrunner here 3 pts
Weight Down 4 lbs from last week (doing a happy dance!!) But I still have about 17 lbs to lose to get back to my E-LAB low. 2 pt
Water 7 pts
Exercise 17 pts
Extra Credit 1 pt (I got a temporary job starting next Monday for 2 weeks - and this will assist in me having a healthier lifestyle)
Total 30 pts
ZOGO
According to your formula I think I should have been drinking just over 70 ounces of water a day, but I was only managing about 50 ounces of water - just found it too hard to drink anymore water, I was drinking 70 ounces a day but at least 20 ounces was tea!!
Don't know how I'll manage for the next two weeks - I don't think I'll have time for my Wii Fit in the mornings and it will be late by the time I get home - I'll try and go for a walk during my break time. And I probably will have to cut down my fluid intake a bit so that I don't keep disappearing to the bathroom!!! What an adventure - it's been 25 years since I last 'went out' for work!!
-
Roadrunner here - another disappointing week. Not exercising because I hurt; hurting because I'm not exercising! Shoulders tight and knotted and the massage while it felt good at the time just made my back hurt a lot the next day. Getting better though. Also sleepy early - need exercise!
Gaining from prior week = 0 points
Exercising = 1 point for each 30 minutes of exercise = 12 pts (again most from last weekend)
Making the Friday Check-in = 3 points
Meeting daily water intake; think I only made 3 pts this week.Total = 18 pts. 2 weeks in a row below 20. Gotta shake this.
-
Roadrunner checking in.
Friday check in - 3 points
Weight - down a whole pound - 2 points
Exercising - 11 points
Water - 4 points
Total - 20 points
According to that formula, I would need to drink over 90 ounces of water a day. That isn't happening. If I can include regular tea (no sugar), then I might come close, but plain water makes me feel queasy if I drink more than about a quart a day.
-
Robin checking in:
Maintaining from prior week = 1 point
Making the Friday Check-in = 3 points
Meeting daily water intake (yet to be determined) = 7pointsthat makes 11 ponts
"Extra Credit" --well I did persue getting a different job that might be less stressful, which would definitely be more healthful for me, does that count?
-
Hummingbird Checking in
Making the Friday Check-in 3 pt
Maintained: 1pt
Exercise 1 point for each 30 minutes of exercise: 8pts
Meeting daily water intake 1 point per day 7 pts
Total points 20 pts
-
Humingbird cheking in for Karen333
water 7pts
friday check in 3pts
exercise 6pts
total of 16
o2b (that's me) am having a dismal time losing weight so am taking a little brake
-
Forgot to list weight loss, for 2 pts, so total is !8. It was only a 1/2 lb.loss.
-
It's still Fri in WI. = 3 points!!!!!!
I'm so proud of those first 3 points, because as everyone knows I've been a slacker.
I'm also thrilled to say that my weight this morning was 143.6 = 2 points
Exercise, made it to yoga by walking our BIG hill and walking home and then continuing in that spirit and taking myself for daily walks, breaking up computer time with jumpin about nonsense and other spirited moments during the day = 9 points
Water. Hmmmmmmmm. I'll claim no points there as I really haven't kept track and maybe taking no points will give me a wake-up call in that department, especially while zozo is working so diligently to get us to increase there. SLACKER = Moi.
Extra point. We have gone out to a local orchard and farmer's market and picked up tons of fresh, local and organic produce for the coming weeks = 1 point
I'll claim 15 points, which enough to get me back on the horse again. (Barely, but horse-side rather than being stampeded.)
+++++We had a HUGE storm blow in last night. Knocked out electricity all over our paradise peninsula.... tho ours returned after about 12 hours out. In our little condo development there are two MAMOTH trees down. It is truly a miracle that both fell away from buildings into areas that missed ANY apparent damage. PRICELESS>

Roadrunner checking in - 3 pts for Friday
I did pretty good with the water - I'm taking in more than I thought, but not anywhere near 100+ ounces per day. But I did do 48+ ounces most days. - 7 pts
No idea of weight. One of these days, I'm going to have to buy a scale so I don't have to remember to go to the gym on Friday nights.
Exercise - 8 pts
18 pts
-
I was being stubborn on Friday and didn't check in... sorry Roadrunners! Since we're really keeping track for ourselves - and the monitors have flown the coup.... I'm with you Zogo, we still have to stay together and get this weight down with the help of who ever or whom ever shows up. Guess I was just bum'ed because my weight was up - after being down all week! ARG. I could have checked in on Sat but I was away from the house all day.
So, I don't get any points for weight, nor checking on on Friday....
But I get 7 for drinking my water - I did good on the 5 1/2 refills for my water container but like Ainm I did have tea too. I added some lemon.
I exercised for 13 pts - I also traced all my food with the help of loseit.
Went to a PCP app't followup again... the tracking food or the PCP should give me an extra credit.
So, the total points for not losing this week are 21.
Aimn, you said you had to take time during your break to go to the ladies, so you must have gotten the job you were looking for.... congratulations!

CONGRATS TO ALL NON-MIGRATORY BIRDIES!!
For finishing the month of September strong!!
I was thrilled that so many actually measured cup/ mugs/ bottles /glasses and reported the size. I think we actually paid attention to water intake and that was the whole goal. Just awareness!
I have drawn a name from all who participated in the challenge....and the winner.....
BOOKART
Keep up the good water work ladies!
-
Thanks zogo for giving us the inspiration to drink, drink, drink.... water that is
-
I'm honored! I would like to thank the members of the academy, eLab and zogo for this award. Ok, I'm being silly. Now I have to come up with a challenge and an award. I have an opening reception this Friday - I'll try to figure it out before then and post it early.
-
Whoooohooooooooo!!! Go Bookart!!!
-
First of all, I am SOoooooooooooooo sorry. i have let you all down by being AWOL. Life has been pretty hectic and frustrating these past few months. No excuse. You gals have been faithful and I commend you for that.
I am working on getting weights updated in the header so if you would, please PM me your current weight if it needs to change up top.
I am going to try to commit myself to being consistent here. I have been gaining a lot of weight lately(probably at my highest yet) and when I sit down I want to fall asleep. I am exhausted all the time. My dr. said she will test my thyroid but not for another 8 weeks. She thinks exercise will help me lose weight, but I am so tired! But enough about me...
Let me know how I can be of help getting the information updated, and again...I am sorry.
-
Hi everyone! I've been a little AWOL as well. I've had much going on too. Hoping things will improve also. Haven't been on the dreaded scales for a few weeks but currently have about 3 prs of jeans I can get in and this time last year I was wearing much smaller sizes. I am ready to get back on the wagon. I went grocery shopping yesterday and bought some salad fixings and low cal salad dressing, etc... I was reading the thing about the water, WOW!!!! I will give that a try
it certainly can't hurt anything. I officially started my new quest to change my eating habits once again today. Leaving off breads, small quantities, if any of pastas and definitely doing without sweets. Hope this will help and I'm going to get the hubby to pull out the treadmill. I will start slow. For the last 5 weeks I haven't had a job and this sitting on your bum is for the birds. I'm use to being up and moving even if it is up and down and minimal throughout the day. I was not born to sit at home. Hope the new job I applied for comes through... in the mean time let's try to rock this weight loss thing. Remember even if we don't lose the pounds to start with we can lose inches and that will mean as much. I know it's hard when we are taking these meds for breast cancer. Somehow they seem to mess with our metabolism to some degree and make it hard to drop pounds or make us add them.

Congrats bookart! Welcome back all who wee AWOL. We certainly do understand the time crunch and are just thrilled whenever anyone shows up, especially on a Friday. Meece, I'm not going to PM my current weight for update because it's up. So when it comes back down, and it will, I will shout it loud and clear. Renee, I agree that our meds are making it much harder to keep the pounds off. Just think if we were not exercising where we would be.
-
I am slowly looking back through the posts, newest to oldest, to see if I can update the header with info. Haven't found many numbers...yet.
-
Well Meece I'm heavier now than I was when you first did the header so I'm now using it (either figure) as a goal!! Nice to see you back !!
-
Meece I am the same weight as my low posted in the header but I like seeing I lost those few lbs way back when...cannot seem to get my body to shed anymore

-
Did I say I am gonna be down this week?
-
Hi Meece, have not done as well as I did at the beginning, need to buckle down and get back to my routine. My weight now is 182. Good to have you back. I'm with patoo, gonna be down this week, Karen
-
Hi all started the dieting thing yesterday and have done very well. I did cheat a little tonight and have pizza for supper... what can I say? I only had a bowl of cereal for bfast and a small salad for lunch, so I guess a couple of slices of pizza didn't ruin the calorie count too bad. It's the bread I'm trying to do without. Tomorrow is another day. Pizza trully is my one and only weakness and it's hard to cook for your family and then prepare yourself something else to eat. What do you ladies do? I mean, my little granddaughter said, "Mimi, I want pizza" so you fix her pizza! lol
-
Patoo - LOL!
Meece, last dr visit I was at 211.7, so better than my high but not down below low. I will re-weigh when I can. I had gotten up to close to 220, so this is better.
-
One of my downfalls is when my scale stopped working. Some people say don't weigh often, but it sure kept me in check.
Thank you for sending me your wieghts. As you can see, I am getting them posted up top as I get them. You ladies are an inspiration to not give up.
