Prayers are going out to Roman from VA.

OG, I'm so incredibly glad for you about your news. I got some bad news today and it was just what I needed to remind me of how wonderful it will be to see God's will fully reallized at the end of all this, even if it take awhile. Thanks for that.

KC, it is going...I am just trying to find all the joy in my daily life. I found a part time job to hold me over financially until I have my NE nursing license back, (had to do a refresher course because I have lived in NY for so long). Things are not going well with my husband as he has decided I guess, to be incommunicado so I doubt we will be working through this, however I am at peace most of the time with this, you can't make somebody love you if they don't. I am surrounded by my family and friends and feel so supported and loved and he has no one if things don't work out with his new girlfriend. So it sux to be him, and he isn't in touch with God either. Aren't you glad you asked LOL

I would appreciate continued prayers for my prodical son. He acknowledges God, but he's more into money and the world. And pray that he gets off steroids. He wants muscles and bulk. I see it doing bad things to him and he can't see it. Kids in their twenties think they know it all. I just don't want him messing up his life and regretting it later on. I shouldn't be stressing out over him, but all the time he's on my mind. I wish he was still little and I could protect him from the ugly things in life.

Eve, a son in his 20's is STILL little. He has many, many years to 'grow up'. I know you want what is best for him now, but if he gets this out of his system now, when it's age appropriate, he'll settle down nicely later and maybe not do something silly when there is a family involved. My son is in his 30's and I still think of him as my little boy. It amazes me that he has a very involved job as a mortgage specialist and other people look up to him! Your son is in my prayers, but more so, I pray you have peace with his 'experimenting' at this time. So far it seems innocuous.

Do you know the side effects of steriods? He believes the kind he is taking is safe. He bought the sterioids over the Internet. He has a mamagement job for a forune 500 pharmasucal company. You'd think, he would know better.  He turned 26 this summer...I wished he was 30 and married. Lives with a few friends he's known since highschool.

I think any parent would be concerned for a child hooked on any type of drug. Just don't want this to hurt him. I pray for him all the time. I am more concern for my son then I ever was over breast cancer.

Eve:  I don't know what kind of problem your son is having, but I will pray for him.  My youngest son (22) has been "difficult," over the past five years.  In and out of court for alcohol and drug-related offenses all behind the wheel of cars.  DH and I didn't know how to respond over the years.  We've spent many nights praying because our son didn't make it home safe.  Police knocking on the door telling us our son (Jamie) was in an accident.  Very frightening times we had with him.  Our two other children would be very upset with him as they saw how much grief it caused us.  By God's grace our son did not destroy himself through this.  I can only advise to continue to pray.  His last episode left him with a 12-month jail sentence for a drunk-driving accident.  It was an opportunity for DH and I to write to him about God's plan of salvation.  Every week we would write scripture in letter to him.  He has to go before the judge at the end of October again to prove he has satisfied the requirements.  He has not used alcohol or drugs in six months now.  It's been a long haul.  Will keep your family in my prayers.  Jean

I have just not been myself for the past few weeks.  My faith isn't shaken, but I have found it difficult to do things that I enjoy, such as visit BCO.  I just had to "force" myself to get my computer out this morning.  I haven't been on a computer for anything non-essential in a long time.  I really appreciated the call from you, Eph.  It made me feel like someone cares, although I know that each and every woman here does.

As of Monday I am a permanent employee at work.  Unfortunately Monday was my first day on Jury duty.  I was called up in the first wave of prospective jurors and despite my desire to go back to work, I was chosen. The judge said no hardship claims because case is supposed to be short, We are in deliberation so I will have missed three work days.

Matt is doing okay.  He is active duty until Oct. 25th.  He clarified that last night when he brought his girlfriend for us to meet.  They have been attending church with my parents for several weeks .We think she is a nice young woman and I think she will be a good distraction (and I don't mean that in a demeaning way) while he waits for his medical plan to be clarified.

I have read up on all I missed here on this thread.  It is the first one I check.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you, Barbe!  You must be so relieved.

With so many posts being deleted I feel out of the loop, but I hope that you are at peace, Evebarry. OG, it looks like you were placed just where you needed to be to receive direct love and support from family and friends during all of this.  So sorry for the circumstances, but happy you you have that peace.

Lynniea, so happy you are past the halfway mark. It feels good to see the light at the end of the tunnel, huh?

KCL, what is the status on Roman's condition?

I went to a check up a couple of weeks ago with my GP.  We discussed my recent weight gain and exhaustion/fatigue.  She is ordering a thyroid test, however she wants it one week before my next appointment in early December.  In the meantime I sleep whenever I get the chance, and miss out on a lot of things.

On the lighter side, I had my folow up CT of my lungs which have shown lesions.  They have been monitoring these lesions and the results of this latest test came back "Normal".  Although they will follow this in the future, I will not have to have CTs every six months for awhile.  Thank you, Heavenly Father!

    2hands4me,

Amen. I agree, and I am so glad you posted this thank you. I have been doing just that for the last week, changing my eating to include whole grains, a variety of veggies, and fruits and legumes. I was eating semi healthy before, but I have really brought it into balance ,and a positive attitude is huge, in this journey.Smile

Meece, i'm so glad you're back/ i missed our "fearless leader" glad you're ok.. why don't you try to get the dr. to do the bloodwork NOW? i know fromexp if it IS the thyroid, (you Have the symptoms) they always start with a synthyroid kinds pill. he could watch your progression, by dec. that way.. if they wait too long ( like they did me) it can become serious.. ya oughta  try; if ya have the strenghth to call and ask, at least...

im glad Matt has a nice girlfrined, and you like her. he's got  a lot on his mind, so someone to spend time with; never hurts. glad he likes his grandparents church.. i'll be praying for you to get some rest.........3jays

Thank you so much for the advice, 3jays. I think I will look into that.  I am usually an early riser and spend from 4:45 to 6:00 am watching news and catching up online, but lately I lay with my eyes closed and jsut listen to the news.Definitely not my typical behavior.

Well, despite serving on a jury, I still went in to work before jury on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and on my Tuesday lunch hour.  The case was finished yesterday so I went in afterwards and stayed late.  I don't want to make a bad impression by letting my work get behind during this closing week of the month which also happens to be our fiscal year close as well.
