I am okay thanks.Just got home from spending a week at my parents in TBay.I find visiting very stressful but they are doing okay.My brother who lives there in the same town really takes good care of them so I need to stop feeling guilty about not being able to help much.We all do what we can.

Eph3_12,
Wow, I just notice you are an Oregonian :O) We are only three hours apart. I live in Coos Bay. I have relatives in Medford. We go up there a few times a year. Do you ever come to the coast?
-
I live in Oregon as well. I love the weather in the Portland area. The beach is a little too windy, but enjoyed a recent trip to Lincoln City.
-
hey gals, just a fly by to say hello, and wish everyone a great weekend coming. i have company; so i'll check in from time/time. my son goes to court tommorrow, and we all need the prayers. it looks like a continuance, which would be very helpful... and, they start me on a new med sat night... prayers this one i'll tolerate.. im still trusting Him to heal me, as He chooses..in His way; His time......3jays
-
You are (still) in my prayers 3jays, special ones added for Mecca, my friend!
-
That's a beautiful pic of the moon....wow! Popping in to say hello to all. Weekend is right upon us. Got real cold here last night ....a taste of what is to come. Prayers for all the situations posted here... meds, biopsy results, surgery, healing, favor in court, peace, rest, safety. Jean
-
Hello Everyone! Wishing everyone a great weekend! I am feeling under the weather, but ready to rest and relax. (((Mum))) ~ I totally get what you are saying. We all have different roles when it comes to aging parents and so don't feel guilty. Your parents are very blessed to have your brother there to look after them.
Like Jean I'm praying for all needs... Hugs to all!!
-
Just want you all to know God was listening to your prayers and for the first time in 2.5 years I had a clear MRI and Mamo, so now I can move to yearly check ups and can put the stress out of my mind for now! I like this guy NED alot and hope he isn't a cheater too
Praise God and all of you who are in need of prayers I will be praying for you too. Thank you so much...I was with my Husband this week and don't know how this is going to turn out but I have turned him over to God and we will see what he can do with his bad child, but not having a new BC or a reoccurance or even another biopsy is priceless!. -
OG-Awesome!

God is Good!

Praise the Lord, OG! You needed this!

Ladies please can you pray for a friend of my DH and I... he was in a car accident last night on his way home from work and is in critical condition. Roman and his wife have three children. Thanks so much!

-
Prayer for Roman: Father God, this morning we come before You humbled by Your majesty and Your great compassion. We ask for total healing of Roman so that he can resume his life with his wife & children. May Your will be done in this situation and we ask for comfort & peace for all the family & friend. In Your Son's Name I pray, Amen

Thank you so much! I will keep you posted on how he is doing. Last I heard he had a broken spine, scapula, elbow, and ribs. He is unconcsious and on a respirator. Our God has Roman in his hands, so all we can do at this point is pray. Hugs to all!

Last weekend was a Prostate Cancer seminar in LA with top speakers from UCLA, John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, City of Hope, and University of Toronto. The conference was well attended by 700-800 men and some women. There was excellent information on a variety of topics specifically pertinent to prostate cancer. Some information is generic to all cancers, so thought I'd share a few of these with you, in case you are interested.
One of the biggest points that was made over and over again was regarding diet - cardiovascular disease is the #1 cause of death in males and females, so we all would do better to live a heart healthy lifestyle.
Diet = whole grains, fruits and multi-color vegetables, legumes and a small amount of animal protein. 20-30 Gms of fiber per day. Avoid mega doses of supplements.
There's a NEW prescription drug available October 1, 2011 - EXERCISE!!!!!! At least 30 per day. You don't have to like it ~ but you WILL feel better!
Another point that was well made from a physician living for 13 years now with prostate cancer ~ fear, stress, negative thoughts etc. decrease our immune system! "Cancer is something we have; NOT who we are!" "We are NOT cancer survivors; we are living with cancer!" "Don't hang around with someone who sees you as sick." "Learn to receive ~ it's a gift to the giver." "Replace negative thoughts with thanksgiving for even the little things God brings into our lives daily." "If we live in fear, we're out of Love" (Perfect Love casts out fear).
Lots of food for thought! Wish I could find a breast cancer seminar with such great information! It really helps to hear it from knowledgeable people in a concise, organized way! Each year that we go, it seems like we gain more, or it sinks in a little deeper.
Love and prayers for all.

Sounds like sound advice, 2hands.
Praying for Roman. May God comfort his family and bring quick healing and recovery.
My 71 yr old aunt "Hellie" was teaching Sunday school when she got hooked up on a chair and fell to the concrete floor. She broke her leg just below te hip and has had surgery to place pins. I ask for prayer for a full recovery.

Just thinking of everyone, checking in to see how things are going with you ladies. Had surgery Monday. All went well. Had a hard time waking up from the anesthesia, but I think it was because it was a late afternoon surgery. Little Advil for discomfort. Praying for you all and the situations that have come up. I can shower today, so I'm trying to get the nerve up to see what sort of dent is left. I don't do well looking at wounds.......queasy me! Love to all. Jean
-
Well, here's to good looking divots, then Jean!! I pray for an uneventful healing time for you...
-
Thanks Barbe: I got brave and changed the dressing on the right side. Saw the stitches and had to stop. I'll wait for DH to help me with the left side wound. My left breast is totally bruised and mis-shaped. Have you gotten any biopsy results? Keeping you in prayer. Jean
-
I reached the Biopsy department at the hospital who said the report was just completed and they'll fax it to my doctor today. Now I wait for The Phone Call....sigh. At least I wait with Jesus so I am not alone.
