Isn't spending time with family the best? Love to all my bc sisters! xo
-
Havehope: I love to hear this news! Somehow it's much easier when you can cross off the days on a calendar, isn't it?
I celebrated birthday #54 over the holiday weekend. It was an extremely quiet holiday but that didn't stop me from feeling so incredibly grateful.

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful summer.
The abdominal port is out! I finished chemo and the results are very good. I am once again NED and with good prognosis. The onc thinks it will not come back. I hope she's right!
Thank you all for your support and I wish you only NED years and a good summer!
xoxo

How are all my sisters? Getting "routine" mamogram soon--starting to get nervous, afraid to even say that don't want to jinx it. xo
-
Love my family: It is normal to be nervous for one of these tests. Sending some good vibes for a clean mammo.. And a hug too!
I go for an MRI at the end of October and I will be shaking in my boots so to speak.
Cheers
Mandy

Thanks Mandy! Prayers for all of us!! xo

Hello Divas!
I hope all of you are healthy and happy!
I am happy to report I am feeling great and I have just a few "leftover" side effects from chemo. My eyebrows are back and my hair has reached the 1 inch height! I am back to my regular weight and I am tyring to get back in shape.
I wish you all Happy Anniversary ( mine is on the 31st - 3 years!).
xoxo
-
Yearly mammo yesterday. Anxious. Just wanted to touch base with my chemo sisters. xo
-
This time of year again, my diagnosis anniversary is today, 3 years ago, wow time flies! Just made my appt for my yearly mammo, it's on the 31st, isn't that creepy, on Halloween!! LOL! It's been ectic around here, rough summer, but it's all better now, kids are back in school, we're tearing down the kitchen to do a complete remodel, nothing original when we'll be done, but now it's a huge huge mess around here.
When are you getting your results? I hate waiting, I always get mine right away, then I meet with my surgeon the same day so no waiting.
Havehope, glad to hear you're doing so well
I hope everyone else is doing ok.
-
My appointment is October 18th. My oncologist ordered a chest xray in addition to the blood test. I also had an annual bone density test because of the Femara. Sometimes it feels so much longer than 3 years. I'm grateful for every minute of every day!
Remaining side effects from treatment: thin eyebrows/lashes; numb fingertips; extremely dry skin, hair and nails; chemo brain never went away either.
-
Prayers for all waiting for test results. Got results of my yearly mammogram--
Normal!! Praise God! xo -
Have hope: So glad that you are doing well.
Love my family: great news about the good mammo results.
Everyone else who is waiting for a mammo: sending positive thoughts your way.
My mammo is on Wednesday,October 19. And I am scheduled for an MRI on October 27 but that may have to be postponed---fell off my bike and injured my wrist a bit--chipped bone and hairline fracture--I'm not sure I could go into the "tube" with that painful wrist and besides there's be no way to give me the IV for contrast since that is my "good arm".
But I send everyone hugs and positive thoughts.

Chemo brain must have set in. My mammo was yesterday--luckily I rechecked and went on the right day. Good news--all clear.

Yay Mandy!!!

Thanks so much "love!. They went back for more pictures and I just about had a heart attck waiting for the results. But I was lucky and blessed this time.
to all of you.

Havehope - Congrats on your 3 month check up
Haven't checked in in a while. Had my mammo in October, they called me back 3 times for more pictures!!! Ouch! I think the final count was 11-12 squishes, my breast was hurting for about a week after
They found some calcifications so I have to go back in 6 months for another mammo and U/S to see if it has changed. Ughhh.. Does that mean every 6 months until something happens? Geezz.. I was so looking forward to moving to every other year mammo, not going to happen for a while
In the mean time, I found out my cousin passed away a few days ago from cancer, 63 years old :(I didn't know her much since she was much older than me (my dad was a surprise, so my cousins on his sides were his age). She played and did voices in several children's TV show when I was little, so my memories of her are mostly when we were little and she would do the voices for us at Christmas parties, so this makes it even harder that she passed this time of year. Am I the only one finding it more difficult when people die of cancer rather than another reason? Through the grief, everytime, I can't help but to think it could have been me, people do die of cancer. And even though I feel very blessed and lucky to still be hear, it still scares the sh*t out of me and it takes me a week or two to get out of this mood.
I hate cancer!! And then that Christmas shoe song keep coming on the radio, can't listen, radio gets turned off every single time, way too close to home, I want happy jolly Christmas song this time of year
Tough week

Cebula, so sorry you had such an awful experience during your mammo. i was also called back for extra pictures this time--in addition to the squishes, i was stressed beyond imagination. you might ask your onc (or whomever prescribes the mammo) whether they would prescribe a breast mri for you.
take care and enjoy the holidays.
hugs
-
That's a good idea, didn't think about that. When I go in in 6 months, I'm sure she'll recheck in 6 months so I'll ask for it then. She said I have very dense breast making it more difficult to read mammos, hence the addition of the ultrasound with it.
-
Caroline, I know what you mean about reacting more to cancer deaths. Those tend to knock me sideways now because I know that you can feel well one day, and be fighting for your life the next.
Just the same, I count myself as very lucky. Most people want to learn how to live in the moment, but just can't quite get the concept. For all of us, it's so much easier. We "get" how to squeeze the most from each day, and we're more joyful because of it.
-
Just want to say Happy Hanukah and Happy Christmas. Wishing you all a new year of health, happiness and serenity.
Hugs,
Mandy
