Hummingbird Karen333 checking in
Fri. checkin = 3 pts.
water = 7 points
exercise = 3 pts.
weight gain = 0 pts.,
for a grand total of 13 pts.
-
Well, crap. Forgot to check in on Friday AGAIN!
Linda, checking in with the Flock:
Lost weight gained = 0 points
Exercising = 5 points
Making the Friday Check-in = 0 points
Water = 7 points
"Extra Credit" = 1 point again this week for going to consult (PS consultation)
Total = 13 points
I have 4 medical appointments this week, including one with an integrative health specialist, one with RO, and 2 follow-up appts with PCPs. Should have the "battle plan" in place by the end of the week, with dates firmed up. I will be struggling to meet my own challenge. Zogo, I didn't mean to steal your thunder on this.... just hadn't seen any challenges recently and forgot who won the last one.... anyway, let's get rockin'!
-
Rockin Robin checking:
Friday? nope........0 pts 2 weeks in a row is awful...back on the program next Friday for sure
Wt (175.6) loss 2 pts
elab low 1 pt
exercise 8 pts
water 6 pts
Total 17 pts
My goal for the week is to meet, or better yet surpass, Linda's "12 Activity Point Challenge"
-
Late check in for the roadrunners.. It looks like I'm not the only one - missing the birdie's around here.
Friday check in - 0, water intake - 7, weight the same - 1, exercise - 9. Had to take DD to emergency room and watched DGS's and taking them to school next day. Didn't care if I was late for work = 1 pt for independence!
Total for week (a bit weak) = 18
Aimn, I know what you mean about the weight just not going down. I've been with this "program" close to a year! AGH, and all I've ac-cumulatively lost is 8 lbs. What's with that? Sometimes it's the same one to two pounds. So, I get down about it and just hesitate to post.
Are you taking a medication that might hinder the weight loss because you do a lot of exercise. I'm writing down what I eat and don't see anything that could be "bad". Yes, occasionally they have a birthday cake at work and I have a small piece but since I'm single and fix my own meals I pretty much have "control" over what is in the meal.
I do the exercise and really try to out do the past week but with my schedule I can only get to the gym three days a week. When I cut the grass on Sat I count that as an hour since I'm out pushing the lawnmower and really sweating! Aimn I think you're lucky to have the WII to have at home and be able to use it when ever. You have done such a fantastic job of losing, it could be that fact that you weren't able to do exercises after the surgery, and I also think that the body takes time to adjust after such trauma to the body. (((hugs)))

Seriously late check-in for an errant Hummingbird.
Or am I early for this coming Friday? LOL! Too goofy to be upset.
Thanks for the baby congrats. We will fly out a week from today to see the newest bundle. They live in CO and she has 3 big brothers: ages 8 and 4 and 2. The mama says that she is the 'easies' of any of them.... which is a good thing, right?
I too am in the "I have fallen off the wagon and need a personal trainer to come and wrestle the spoon from my mouth and then beat me with it -- as they chase me around the block.
I can't even fake a total of points because I have totally forgotten to tune into the concept.
Dang.
Ainm and Samsue.... it is a whack in the head to realize that this effort is FOREVER or we backslide over & over & over. Dang. Wouldn't it be awesome to have an easy fix?
So after nearly 4.5 years around BCO on a 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 times a day basis, I find that I am only 'remembering' to pop in every several days. I don't know if that's good or bad or indifferent, but I've spent all summer attempting to figure out this whole blogging thing. I'm seriously making progress and give myself a LOT of points for that total.
In the past any given blog post might have garnered a couple dozen views.... big time was a post that inched up closer to 60 or 70 views over weeks & weeks. My blog post today took me nearly ALL day to write, and then 'connect' but it has had over 427 views in under 10 hours. The post is about my newest picture book, which is 911 related, so this was the day to pour all of my efforts into that focus.
Needless to say -- I am making progress on this regard. Too bad that its such a sedintary effort, but it gives me great joy to think I can figure this out. It will make an enormous difference for me professionally.
I take the time to tell you all of this, because I don't want you to think I'm deserting the team effort and all and each of you without some sort of 'purpose.'
Now, I just have to figure out something about balance. Getting up off the couch/laptop and sustaining some movement and then returning. That will be my goal this week: I promise!!
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
LUV to each of you as we continue the LONG HAUL efforts & attempt to sustain the progress we do make, in the midst of all that life brings our way.
***Technically this newest baby is my 'step' grandchild..... but my biological grandchildren entered kindergarten earlier, with the twinzee babeeez going to their first official day of PreSchool on Thursday of last week. So I am a gen-u-ine, no kidding yourself grandma, too!!! I claim them all. It's funny to tell people that I have 7 grand-children. LOL.
-
Well, I was out on vacation, then working an insane schedule getting ready for art exhibits (sold work - yay!) so I'm not even sure where I am. So I'm starting over. I hope to be able to get on a scale tomorrow, then we'll see where I can go from there. I'm so tired I can't focus, so I'm signing out and going to bed. Hopefully, I'll be back on Friday. Droopy Roadrunner signing off.
-
I know it's only Monday... but I was reading through the posts and noticed how many of the "birdies" are missing. Have they flown the coup, given up on the "game" (that was a pun). Where are our fearless leaders who are counting the points???? How are we doing, who's flying at the head of the pack, or whatever it's called when birds fly.... Anybody out there?
-
Samsue, I know what you mean! There are way too many birdies missing in action. Wish we could get them back here, but I know how difficult it is sometimes - life gets in the way - we start out with good intentions, backslide, have multiple interruptions.... etc etc etc..... I think you are on the only team that seems to be hanging in there for the most part. Should we PM Meece to see if she knows what's up or has ideas? Or maybe we should just vote for anarchy and do the individual thing, but I sure like the team approach better... if anyone else is out there, PLEASE COME BACK!!!!
-
Linda-n3y, This thread actually keeps me in check on what I'm eating and how much I exercise each week. I'v kept a log on my data book to keep me "legal"... Being accountable is always a good way to lose weight so I hope that the thread doesn't start drifting away. Keeping track of the points gives me an incentive to do more... eat less, and drink all the water I'm supposed to.
-
Hey Gang, I'm checking in early for the Roadrunners as I will be away from my computer until Sunday. I may be able to use someone else's over the weekend but I'm not sure so I thought this was a better idea
Not sure if I can claim 3 points for a pre friday check in??? but at least 1 pt!!
Fluids 7pts
Exercise 19pts
Weight Down 2 pts
Dr. Visit 1 pt (extra credit)
I guess that's a total of 30 pts and I think it also makes me eligible for 'the challenge'.
I'll check in Sunday - must go now as I must gather some bits and pieces together to take with me and then 'get drivin'!!
Hope everyone is smiling!
-
Hey all of you birdies I am still around and reading the posts. I am attempting to get myself motiviated once again. The job front is looking a little promising. I may know something in the next week or so. Please say a little prayer that this works out it would be perfect. I would be working with a friend and an ex-coworker / ex-boss. She and I got along marvelously. She called me last night with the possible offer. She has to get the job first then me.
As for weight loss I know it was hard for me I gained weight while on Tamoxifen and now I'm on Arimidex I haven't gained but haven't been able to she a pound. I see that it's going to take more than the normal things I usually do.
Good Luck Ladies and I'm still here
Renee
-
Dear mimi, I don't remember meeting you before but will send up a prayer for your job to come through. I gained quite a bit of weight on arimidex and it has been a bear to lose - I have found just watching your diet isn't enough, you must exercise faithfully each day to lose a lb. Karen

-
Linda, checking in with the Flock:
Weight stable = 1 point
Exercising = 10 points (short of the challege, but better than the last few weeks!)
Making the Friday Check-in = 1 point
Water = 7 points
"Extra Credit" = 1 point again this week for multiple healthcare appointments.
I am doing well overall, felt "sucker-punched" one day this week when reality sort of hit me, so I decided to focus on all the other stuff in my life for now, keeping busy with lesson plans that I may have to hand off to someone else for a bit, enjoying the fall weather, wondering why the heck my tomatoes did so poorly this year (plants look great, lots of blooms, just no tomatoes!), and getting ready for a trip to Washington, DC next week for a conference.
I am participating in a walking challenge at work: we are taking a virtual hike from Seattle (Pike's Market) to Mt. Ranier over the next 2 weeks. So far, I am only about 6000 steps short of this week's goal, so will set out to get an extra 2000 per day for the next 3 days. My pedometer has been a constant reminder of just how many or how few steps I take each day.
Elimar, I am FINALLY getting some relief from my peripheral neuropathy, and Effexor was the drug that is helping. I have tried so many I can hardly count them all by now, but it was amazing that within 5 days of starting it I was getting so much improvement, my mouth and fingers feel so much better. I am still not gaining weight on it, and I do get some nausea, but overall, eating is less distressing than it was before I started it.
Sandee, good start this week! Keep up the good work! Karen, samsue, mimi, bookart, faithandfifty, michelle, chabba, patoo, patmom, nativemainer, and all you others (sorry if I have forgotten anyone) - hope to see you checking in soon!
So far, Ainm and Zogo have met the 12-points for activity challenge. Please PM me with your mailing address for your promised reward (it might take a while, but I promise it will be worth the wait!) and anyone else who makes that 12 points, also send me mailing address. I will check in later this weekend to see how you all do. And Zogo, the next challenge will DEFINITELY be up to you!!
Have a great weekend all, - Linda
-

I can relate to the lack of motivation but coming to this thread (I haven't even signed on to BCo this week until now) helps. I firmly believe that my scale has a minimum and so I will never go below 180 - that's my story...Eating has been so bad this week I also did not log on loseit.com. It's just been a busy week at work; church activities have also started back up so it was hard and I have to come up with a plan to get back on track - that's my challenge for the next month.
-
sorry you're not feeling well bc - rest and get better (chocolate helps)
-

this week I get to visit the dr - first visit for eventual colonoscopy. Goodie. Need to call bs for follow-up appt, also. Maybe I'll bump up my pts for next week.
I'll also try to get by the gym and weigh. Maybe someday I'll buy a scale. I keep trying to force myself to food journal, but so far total fail - I know it would help.
-

Fluids 7 pts
Check in 3pts
Exercise 17 pts
Total 27 pts
I'm having such a bad run of this eating thing!!! When are you suppose to stop!!! I just seem to spend all my time thinking about food, eating and planning what I can eat - what has happened to all my good work - I worked so hard to lose 100 lbs and now I'm just piling it all on again. I start every day with good intentions but before long I am stuffing myself and then the cycle starts. And I know I'm being needy but sometimes the interaction I have on this site is the only social life I have!!
ZOGO
My mug is 10 fluid ounces - can't wait to hear what you have up your sleeve!!!
