Hi everyone, i'm not doing well at the minute. Had chemo 5 and it really knocked me back. Due no 6 this thursday but i'm getting a cold so i don't know how that will effect things. Had to stop working - too tired. Don't mean to be a moanie but feel terrible.
-
Yes I'm doing the double mx...and damn if my relaxation CD just skipped and stopped working! LOL! Arrrgh. 3am and can't sleep, but need to get up at 5:30 for an ealry Boston doctor appt for my son tomorrow. At least I'll be occupied!
-
Bernie hope you are feeling better soon- I have also stopped working for now. Hang in there the end of chemo is in sight.
Profb, good luck at the appointment today. Hope all goes as planned
-
I am wishing my hair looked this good
-
Merilee - How is the growth going? and how many weeks out is it now? I never thought my hair loss would bother me, but I guess we never know how we will be affected by this having never been here before.
Last day on my steroids, and this is my last time!!!! RAD appt. on the 29th, looking forward to moving ahead...
Hugs
-
hi everyone! yes!! i am ready for some hair!it has been 4 weeks for me and the only hair growing is the hair that has grown this entire time!! it hasn't started filling in yet!i have a new razor too and can't wait to use it!by then i might be too tired from the rads to want to shave my legs!!
hang in there ladies there is a light at the end of this long tunnel!!
-
Profbee good luck with your surgery you will be just fine! Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes, my trip was fun. I had my last chemo today and the nurses blew bubbles on me and I gave them all hugs! Wish I had my camera! Next stop with the radiation oncologist Sept. 1st!
-
Profbee: Your surgery is tomorrow right? I have said a prayer for you and will continue to do so all day tomorrow. I will light a candle for you if you tell us what time.
Much love to you, my friend. You will do great, and it will feel so good to know the CANCER IS GONE!
Sending hugs, and strength, and courage, and healing, and health.
-
Hi to everyone, thanks Merilee. starting to feel better now. Just slept for days. Warm thoughts to you all
-
2;30 EST I'm supposed to start surgery. Think of me girlfriends...I will really appreciate the love. I'm trying to stay positive, and imagining you all (and other friends in my life) sending good thoughts my way today is helping to relax me. Thanks! Looking forward to my happy and healthy post surgery post!
love,
Cris

Sending positive thought your way Profbee.
Hope your cuts are healing Merilee.
What creams are you guys using for radiation? I should be getting ready for that soon.
God bless you all!
-
Profbee - thoughts and prayers your way today and looking forward to your after surgery posting.
-
Sending Healing and Light to you, Profbee! And will do so all day long, with an extra burst at 2:30pm.

I have been a lurker on this thread since I started chemo in April, but for some reason couldn't find the words to post. You ladies have been an amazing resource and source of comfort and inspiration and I have kept you in my prayers through this journey.
That being said, I was wondering a couple of things: 1) for those that are finished with chemo (yay!), are your SEs starting to go away? I am just 2 weeks PFC and am so over my twitchy, watery eyes, exhaustion, baldness, etc....any hopeful news from anyone that these will subside soon? 2) how are you dealing with friends and family who think you should be "back to normal" now? I still have rads and a months of herceptin ahead of me, but I feel like everyone else has had enough of this BC and is ready to move on....thoughts? -
Prof b I will light a candle at precisely 2:30 on your behalf.
-
Profbee - sending you lots of love and light and healing vibes, looking forward to your post op posting. Good luck and best wishes to you.

Profbee - XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX!!!!
Lola - I finally got to the point where I could tell people to bug off - if a sweet and loving way of course! Depending on the person - what I really need now is support...there are many different levels of cancer treatment...I dont care to hear this right now...or how about - you try this and see how you like it!!!!!!
-
Profbee - thinking of you today. Best wishes for an easy surgery and quick recovery.
Sarah246 - I still have 5 x weekly chemo left and then a few weeks break before rads. I'm already preparing the skin with Acqeous cream as instructed. Do you have that in the US? It's ultra hydrating, non fragranced, paraben free and making my skin feel deliciously soft. It's also cheap as chips for a huge pot. I don't know why I spent years buying more expensive moisturizers from the shops. I've started using it all over. I'm supposed to put it on daily now and slather it thickly when having rads.
I can't believe I've done 4xAC and 7xTaxol and can finally see an end in sight. The 6 months have flown by! My hair is still growing back since starting Taxol and I'm finding it Tuesday before I know it and I can cross another one off.
My weight gain and hot flashes are another thing entirely. Both are depressing me. I'm promising myself I'll do something about it when chemo finishes.
Hi to all and here's to a good week. -
thinking of you profbee!! its 3:00 here,hopefully they have taking you back and you're not waiting any longer! i hate that part!{{{{HUGS}}}}
-
All I keep thinking, KiwiMum, is that I can count my remaining chemo sessions on one hand!
-
Profbee - Fingers, eyes, and toes crossed, not to mention prayers...
Lolam - my approach to the "now you're back to normal" expectations has been to say phase I is done, the weekly chemo, and I now begin phase II (rads) and then phase III (Herceptin, or as I tell folks, chemo every 3 wks even tho Herceptin isn't chemo, it's too hard to explain to most people). I don't go into detail with most folks, but I'm leery of those expectations that my life is now back to where it was 8 months ago. -
Carla - do you have 5 left too. I seem to remember we are on the same schedule. I hope Taxol os treating you kindly.
-
jackifp i am totally with you! people just don't get the herceptin thing! and i can say i don't think i will ever be the same. that could be good and bad....
-
I will never be back to "the same". I have to create a new normal. This is a life changing event to say the least. Just because one is done with treatment does not mean we are done with the side effects. That will take some time and effort.
-
I agree will never be the same.... Moving forward is not as easy as I thought it would be mentally and emotionally
-
So very true
-
YOu all are so amazing. Thank you so much for the prayers and the candel lighting. sorry I haven't been on here sooner. Everything went well. I'm a week plus 1 day out from surgery and am so thankful all went so good. My incisions are healing nicely. The drains are still in and should come out in 2 days. My sister left today to go back to GA. she's been taking good care of me this week and its been so good to have family here. Anyone about to have surgery, I can tell you the same as the others told me, its the anticpationg that is the worst, and once its over its nothing but a huge relief to have it done. Please keep me posted so I can light a candle for you too. Love to all and thanks again for your prayers and positive thoughts
-
ProfBee: I am sending tons of good energy your way today. I know this is the "pain killer haze" day, so you won't see this for a few days, but when you do, please know that we've all been pulling for you.
RangerMom: Phew, those words are music to our ears. *huge, non-painful hug* your way.
Welcome, Lola! I can say that the SEs are nearly gone for me now, three months out from the end of A/C, and my hair is coming in strong. I have energy and feel great. Glad you finally decided to speak out and join us! Dive in, we're glad you're here.
Now I start Taxotere next week, and get to go through it all again - losing all this thick hair and going back to being "on chemo" again. Am I going to be the latest gal here still doing chemo? I get two months of Taxotere, so that's September and October. Anyone else still doing "hard-core" chemo up til the end of October? I don't start rads til November, and won't be done with them til around Christmas.
Of course, all of this is a small price to pay if (given that!) it will totally kill the cancer.
Love to you all.
-
Happy to see you back Range Mom
