RANGERMOM! (Sorry) I had to yell that! LOL That is just so awesome. You must be so relieved! Now you can go live big, girlfriend, live big! Ok...don't mind me while I burst into tears of joy!!!!!
-
Profobe and Rangermom, great news!!!! thank God! I will continue to pray for those coming up for surgery this week.
Its a blessing to read all these posts now, such a far cry from back in the beginning of April eh?? Thanks Merilee for the info on the hair, can't wait!
Seeay, loved your comment about summer, that gave me a good and much needed laugh!!! so true.
Today is my oldest grandson's b-day he is 11, I can't believe it!!!! His party for tomorrow had to be canceled due to Irene, I felt bad
but we will go see him after dinner for some cake and hopefully cheer him up. To be 11 again and have such problems... lol
I have had worse chemo mouth, burning tounge/throat this last time so far, not to mention another bladder infection which happened after #2 also. From what I read se's go away by week 3-4??? These next couple weeks can't go quick enough for me
Thinking of you all, take cover and be safe if you are in the path of Irene!
-
YES! REasons to celebrate! Woo hooo!!!
I'm finding the laptop is really too heavy to pick up! It's getting in the way of my posting!
Take care. Make sure you get anything you may need before the hurricane comes!
-
Everyone back east stay safe!!
-
Nice news RangerMom! And you too Profbee!
We're getting ready for the hurricane here, or better said, should be getting ready for Irene. After living in the Caribbean for 18 years, and 4 years living in Miami, this is my first hurricane. Todd was scheduled to fly to Japan on Sunday night from Albany. So we're waiting to see when his flight gets rescheduled and what that all means. My sweet son is spending some time at his grandparents house with his cousins and we miss him so much!
I can count the number of chemo sessions I have left on one hand! And I don't even need all my fingers! (4 to go!). This last infusion was fine. I still can't sleep the night I get infused. But got a wondeful nap this afternoon and I plan to watch Doctor Zhivago tonight. I am definitely starting to feel the tinglies in my fingers and toes (neuropathy). Tomorrow, my plan is to get some water and batteries, etc. and batten down the hatches.
Real quick funny from my best friend. She was walking in Manahattan this morning and saw a poster for the showtime series called The Big C (about a surburan mom diagnosed with cancer). And she said to the poster (yes, she's a little nutty) "C is for Carla...in your face cancer!" She made me smile and I want to get that on a t-shirt!!
Be safe fellow East Coasters. And the rest of you Be Well.
-
thanks to everyone for the good wishes. I'm not so great with all the names. So good to hear are recovering well. Sincerely hope the hurricane does not do damage
-
Profbee and Rangermom - Congtatulations on your successful surgerie's and hope your recovery goes well sending healing vibes to you both xxxx
Ginger-mea - I also had bladder problems when going through chemo and started using cranberry supplement tablets and since I have been taking them no more cystits. I was drinking the cranberry juice but there is a lot of sugar in those juices so figured supplements are the best.
All the best to everyone especially those in the path of the hurricane.
Love and light to all
Sarah Sweety

Carla - love the t-shirt, you should do it.
Merilee - Today I put on one of my shirts that used to be tight across the bust, and layred it with a white camisole beneath. I feel great. Maybe the layering helps me feel more covered? but wanted to let you know. I'm happy to see I can now wear this shirt without any pulling across the chest.
My prayers are with those in the hurricane path that you came through this unscathed. You've got enough on your plate!
-
Sarah, thanks for that info, is there a specific dose on the supplement? Ginger
-
Ginger, I take 3 soft gel capsules a day but you can take up to 6 a day, I tend to take all my supplements first thing in the morning cause otherwise I forget. I think its a bit like taking the Evening primrose Oil start out taking a higher dosage then reduce it down until you feel like you have got the right balance.
Hope this helps

-
Okay Girlfriends - I need to hear your input on something and I'll digest all your thoughts. My ex who walked out on my after my daughter moved in texted me last night. Said that he loves me, thinks of me all the time, couldn't live with my 2 dogs and my daughter in the house any longer, hoped I could forgive him someday and that God will forgive him and said he will love me forever. He didn't ask for anything, just this message. I'm thinking if I text him back it opens a dialog that I'm not sure I want to open. ? Also thinking, he never answered any or my calls or texts after he left, if he loved me, how could he have done that and ignored me and for that fact, walk out when the toughest part of my cancer treatment was coming up with 4 more treatments and surgery? Wasn't it selfish of him to leave just because he couldn't live with me any longer with my 2 dogs and my daughter? Should I open the door to communication with him or leave that door closed?
-
Closed. And you have just said everything that needs to be said. That text was for his benefit not your's. March forward, there is a wonderful life waiting for you, full of wonderful people.
-
RangerMom I agree with Merilee. I think he did that because he was feeling guilty about what he did to you. Now doesn't it make you curious if he will continue texting or just send that one. I am all for forgiving, but if I were in your shoes I would sit back and see exactly what he does next.
-
Yes, I'm sure I'll be hearing from him again. for the meantime, i'll leave the door closed and treat him as he did me and not answer his text. See how he likes it, just ignore him as he did me. At least one thing gives me some comfort, ....I wasn't so easy to walk away from. We did have a lot of fun together, danced, traveled, shopping and just a sense of discovery, church, etc. But I'm not responding to him right now, I'm going to pray about this and ask for God's guidance. I've got the candles lit for Articat.
-
Sorry ranger mom not to hurt your feelings, but I don't see this fella sending you flowers with a love note apologizing or anything close to sincere. A text? You deserve much more. I still say NO!
-
RangerMom -- I agree with Merilee and Axtella.....and you.....on that one. Keep it closed.....at least for now. He doesn't deserve a response from you after what he did to you. I know it might be hard to ignore him, but you deserve so much better. Be strong. Hang in there. We're all behind you. Glad your surgery is over, with good news, and you can keep moving forward in life.
Thinking of you, ArtieCat. We'll all be anxiously awating your news.
I had Taxotere #7 last Weds. They almost didn't give it to me because my white count was so low, but the doc said, "Let's keep going and get this over with." Agreed! Get it over with. He said we would go ahead with #7, but I would have to have a Neupogen injection, which I did. Blood work this morning showed white count to be A-OK. So hopefully I will have #8 on Weds. and be 2/3 done with Taxotere.
Hugs to everybody! I hope everyone was okay throughout the hurricane.
-
Suzy
So glad you were able to continue treatment. Those shots really work thank goodness. Do you have an end date Yet? Seems like this group is on a role with good news regarding treatments working.
Windlass-We have not heard from you in a while. You doing ok?
-
Hi, Merilee: I'm here. I think I've become roller coaster woman from the treatments. I'm either on top of the world or scraping myself off of its shoe. I'm in shoe-bottom mode now. Again.
And dreading renewed "serious" chemo on Wednesday.
Hugs to all.
-
hi ranger mom! you are so much more than a text!! i wouldn't respond! but that's my thoughts...he bailed when you needed him the most and he should love your dogs!
thinking of you articat!
{{{{HUGS}}}}} to all!
-
Y'all are the most amazing women! All we go thru, and the love and support is stunning.
What they said, rangermom - text, indeed, how tacky...something my high schoolers would do, geesh.
Prayers and candles ( and crossed fingers, eyes, and toes) for
Windlass, hang in there, friend, the roller coaster does indeed go up and down, doesn't it?
