Another summer lunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake?

The Canadian dollar is at $1.0135 compared to the dollar. Just a few weeks ago it was at $1.06. The U.S. dollar has tanked recently.
I'm with hrf, plastic always works well.
See you all soon,
Bren

Looking forward to meeting you all!
-
We wish you all a wonderful time of friendship and support in Niagara!!
We are glad you'll have the banner to identify each other. That said though, the banner is nothing special. So, moving forward, we are going to have a banner made (and designed -- and designed and named by our members-- You!). We used to have a BCO cybersisters banner that was signed by all. We are going to start this again, and get tshirts made as well. You've (re) inspired us!!!
Enjoy!!

Thanks Mods! What a fun idea!

Thanks Mods what a great idea!

Thanks from me too, Mods!
Just to let you know a couple of things:
U.S.$ are accepted in Niagara Falls, NOTL, Fort Erie and stops in between.
The Peach Festival is on Saturday (with the main street closed), not Sunday, although St. Vincent de Paul Church which is two blocks up from my house is doing their own festival on Sunday. There is also a classic cars show in town, and lots of golf courses and wineries of course.
I'm also running down the menu I have so far:
Cold meats and cheeses; potato salad; quinoa salad; spinach/orange/almond salad; 7-grain salad; focaccia; hummus and veggies; fruit tray and dip; smoked salmon appetizers; "snacks".
Double chocolate cake in honour of dear Konakat; fruit.
And for drinks: still water; Perrier; V-8; other juices; Konzelmann Chardonnay.
For those of you who hadn't decided what to bring, hope this helps! And if I've left anyone and their food out, surprise me!!!
Oh yes, rain is predicted but the weather person does sometimes get it wrong!
See you soon!

(((Mods)))
Make sure you raise a glass to Konakat, too!
-
Mods - thank you - that's very thoughtful of you.
I will wear the T shirt if it has your blue and yellow - but not if it has pink - lol! You should consider designing an "I hate pink" line.
-
Athena beat me to it - would LOVE a tee shirt - that we can all sign when we meet - not pink, oh please not pink, Yes Yellow - - Pleasing Purple - Beautiful Blue - oh, please not pink.
Shall we met in NM next year???? Hillck made the suggestion - ooohh, what an idea
Happy Weekend, all.
-
I guess I'm in the minority .. I like pink.
Linda .. thanks for the heads up on the Peach Festival. I thought it was on Sunday too.

I SO wish I could join you all in NOTL. It would be fantastic to meet you all face to face, but I will be in Oakville racing with my BC survivor team. Anyone in the GTO area who can't make it to Niagara is more than welcome to come cheer us on!
Otherwise, I will be thinking of all of you - have a fantastic day!!! Rain or Shine
-
Thank you Mods - but if it's Pink (the T-Shirt) I WILL NOT WEAR IT.
Marjie: Wish you could be with us - perhaps next time you're racing you could give us a head's up and we'd come and cheer you on.

-
Hope you all have a wonderful time!!!!! It sounds like it will be a weekend that will never be forgotten.
ENJOY---DRIVE SAFELY---Eat a piece of chocolate for me in honor of KK
-
Linda, sorry we are missing the peach festival but will we be able to get peaches from the other location? I predict it won't rain much
-
Ah geez .. it's already started raining here. I've packed my umbrella just in case. Going to bed early as the alarm is set for 6 a.m.
Can't wait to see everyone!
hugs,
Bren

I can't WAIT!

hrf -- Lots of roadside stands! I recommend the Fruit Shack on hwy 55 just outside of Virgil (very close to Hillebrand Winery). You can always depend on GOOD fruit there. But if you're driving home via Lakeshore Road, a good place is Quiet Acres, about 4-5 kms outside of NOTL.
Weather forecast is sunny tomorrow, and possible rain on Sunday (yes, the weather guys are always changing their minds!).
-
Mmmm...I bought my peaches last week at Fruit Shack. They also sell homemade kettle corn and really good organic frozen meat. That's my favourite fruit stand.
-
We took advantage of the clear WX and spent the evening on the US side of the falls. Now we are at the hotel in Canada. We had a great day but I am wiped. See y'all Sunday. (Hubby was quite bummed they don't sell Beer after 9PM!)
The BCO'ers will be on the US or the CA side tomorrow?
-
Canadian side! No beer after 9?! Silly Americans!
-
Oh and can I just say my hair is destroyed.....I will be a frizz monster by Sunday.
-
Cookielegal:
Are you kidding - no beer after 9 p.m.? On the Canadian side??? Where?? That's soooooo unCanadian.
Sandy
-
Insomnia. I guess I am just excited???? Anyway, will be leaving in a couple hours for the airport. Woo Hoo!.
-
I kept waking up throughout the night, afraid I'd wake up late for the plane. Look for me at the airport, Barb! I'll be the one with hyooooge bags under my eyes!!
-
When does your plane get in?
-
'Cheers' ladies. Have a great time.
-
((((Sharon)))) How nice to hear from you!
-
Sharon, I'm pretty sure a toast will be made on your behalf on Sunday too...you got the closest to Elizabeth and gave her our hugs!! For that I, personally, will always thank you!
-
Sharon, also known to all who loved KK as FRIEND EXTRAORDINAIRE, hope you are doing well.
Also hope next year's gathering is the Largest Ever ( those of us "new" to the Real World, will recognize Bren, she'll be the one in a BCO pink shirt....tee,hee...most of us in purple, blue, yellow)
Happy Weekend everyone.
