Another summer lunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake?

As I said earlier, I'm planning to make homemade hummus and bring pita chips. If anybody wants or is planning to bring a veggie tray, I can make two different dips (hummus and something else). How does that sound?
-
I'll come, now it's for sure. Can bring a veggie tray, or two.
I only need an address.
Also, who needs a ride from TO area? Dream?
-
Yan, Dream has been having WBR for skull mets. I asked if she was coming but didn't get an answer. I reminded her that Frankie came just after being diagnosed with brain mets. Maybe you could PM her to let her know you could drive her.
I've also tried to get Frankie to talk to me, but she's still in the dumps. Her sister has been our go-between.
Okay, okay, I'll bring either veggies or fruit tray, whichever looks better when I go to buy it. I WAS going to bring baklava for those that maybe don't like chocolate (gasp!), but glad I asked.
Remember holding up our chocolate piece in the pic for Elizabeth last year?
-
Barbe: I may be wrong but I think dream said her WBR starts on Aug 8. I wonder if she'd feel up to coming to Niagara just before? I'm sorry that Frankie's out of touch - I think of her often - so good that you check in with her sister.
-
I thought I might bring an appetizer of smoked salmon and crackers etc. OK?
-
Okay, confirm me for two different homemade dips (and pita chips).
I'm also sad to hear Frankie's in the dumps as I think of her often, too.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
-
Barbe .. I vote for fruit plate .. guess the melons just sound good right now.
Can't wait to see everyone ... won't be long now!

Luah, I knew she started then, but it's only 5 days and she wouldn't be driving. She'd still be high on Decadron probably. She might like being surrounded by people who 'get it'. I know it helped Frankie last year.
But I guess you're right, that's just the week before!!! Too funny, time is not sorting itself out properly for me.....doi!
-
No Barbe - my mistake! I was getting my weekend dates mixed up... thinking NOTL was this one coming up and she'd be starting after. Dumb, chemo brain, whatever.
Aren't we a bunch?!
-
Sorry to hear about Frankie. I was hoping to see her again. Barbe, is there anything, as a group we can do for Frankie? How about a card that we all sign and send to her?
-

Yay - we look forward to meeting you Sandy! I'm coming from the other direction on the 401 so can't help you with getting there.
edited because I can't type this early in the morning
-
I have sent Alexis (Fran's sister) a message to see if Fran is in any shape to come again this year. I will keep everyone posted.
Sandy, we LOVE new people because we know everyone else.....hehehehehehhe
-
Sandy, would love for you to join us. Some of us have met before but we really don't all know each other. We are a very welcoming and inclusive group
-
Sandy, please go...we'd love to meet you!
Travel tip: I went to Niagara (Great Wolf Lodge) this past Sunday from Mississauga and the QEW was very slow as there was construction. It slowed down approaching the Skyway in Burlington and was stop and go through to around Casablanca Blvd. We went mid-morning and it took us a lot longer than usual. I just wanted to let you know as I think traffic could also be slow on the 14th so we can factor that into our drive.
-
Thanks, Sugar. Barbe and I plan to be on the highway by 8:30 am
-
I have $10 Canadian burning a hole in my pocket can someone PM an address I can send it to as I'd like to donate it to the purchase of Elizabeths cake. Sounds like you girls are going to have a very fun get together, wish I lived close so I could join you.

I was really hoping I'd be able to come. I know you'll all have a great time. I won't be in TO until Monday 15th and am staying overnight as I have meetings that afternoon and early Tuesday. Anyone close to downtown and want to get together for a couple of hours Monday evening?

I know one week....do people dress up or let it all hang out?
Yan I am excited you are coming.
We are leaving Friday afternoon! This is really our only vacation for the summer except the 4th of July!
-
Cookiegal .. can't wait to see you. I think I'm going to wear a little summer dress for the luncheon and shorts on Saturday for the trip to the falls. Will you be going to the falls with us on Saturday afternoon?
I'm making up cell phone index cards for everyone so we can keep in touch.
hugs,
Bren
-
I don't own a skirt so it will be my usual summer duds - capris and a shirt (it's always good to wear a shirt of some sort as a public service).
-
Capris, a shirt (for the public service part) and Crocs.
-
Shorts and a tee shirt with flip flops or boat shoes. My summer uniform.
