Another summer lunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake?

Cream cheese and rasperries are very healthy - and you have to have something to put under them. Brownies are just a foundation for all that healthy stuff.

Hrf: My trusty Apple is in the den on the main floor.
To all our guests -- cooler weather is coming in and possible rain Saturday night and Sunday morning. Suggestion -- pack an umbrella!
lassie -- chocolate is my favourite "foundation"!

Keep the rain away!!!!

I was just wondering what the weather would be.

Weather:

Looks like it will be raining for sure. But nobody knows, the forecast here changes every hour.
I'd like to say this again: anyone who needs a ride from the northern or western GTA is welcome.
-
Yan ... thanks for the weather link. I think I will pack my umbrella just to be on the safe side!

The banner arrived today - speedy service from our faithful Mods! Thanks, Mods!

E, how big is it? Do you need an extra bag? I was going to just pack in a canvas tote or backpack, but I can bring my rollaboard to put it in if you need it.

Enjoyful .. how exciting!
Happy .. I'm going to overpack so I need my carryon luggage! ha! I need a couple of pairs of sandals, flipflops, sundress, a few pairs of shorts, shirts, blow dryer and all that stuff. I know, I'm crazy to bring so much stuff!
hugs,

Bren,
When I lived in South Asia and we traveled throughout Europe for six weeks at a time, I learned how to pack light. It has always been my downfall to try to pack for a couple of days! I have been getting better, though, especially as I remind myself that there ARE stores where I am going! Wearing shorts, shirt, shoes & socks and appropriate underpinnings on Saturday. Capris, shirt, crocs & unders for Sunday. New shorts, shirt, socks & unders for Monday. Toiletries, blowdryer, nightclothes, and something to read. Maybe iPad. MP3 player. Done!
-
It's tall, narrow, and light. Maybe 3-4' tall and less than 1' wide. I'll have to carry it on separately, no biggie.
-
OK -- let me know if you want me to bring my rollaboard just in case.
L
-
I am gonna have to sit outside because of the kitties, so pray for a break in the rain!
-
To all you lovely ladies - I do hope you have the most wonderful time - fingers crossed I might get to come next time.
Thankyou all for being here and keeping me sane, I really appreciate your friendship.

Thanks Susieq -- Think of us as you're having dinner in London on Sunday!
Cookiegal -- Not to worry, we have a covered deck! But do take a benedryl for added protection!
-
I'll sit outside with you Cookie, cause I know I'll get overheated with the rain humidity....sigh. My own little furnace, I wish I could bottle it and save it for the winter months...sigh.
-
Hahahah, Barbe -- DH says the same thing about me. When I put my hand on him while we're sleeping, he says, "Stooooop! You're BURNING me!" Sometimes I'm even too hot for the cat -- he will move away from me and just put a paw or his tail on me to make sure I'm still there!
L
-
Happy .. Tim says the EXACT same thing to me. My job is to warm up his side of the bed in the winter before he goes to bed! I'm a human hot water bottle!
Can't wait to see everyone .. only two more days!

I know everyone will have a wonderful time.
Those of us--like myself--who can't make the gathering can be there in spirit and with spirits. I will be lifting my glass of absinthe to Elizabeth at the appointed hour probably from a ferry in Seattle.
I look forward to the pictures!
-
Starting to think of what to pack and all of the errands I have to run tomorrow to get ready. Got the water bill paid. Last year when I went to see my grandkids, I forgot to pay the water bill. Poor Mr. Tim, they shut the freakin' water off on him!! He's asked me four times already if I paid the bill. Bless his heart! I made sure he'll have plenty of water.
Can't wait to meet everyone!
Bren
EDITED: I just checked the weather for the weekend .. pack your umbrellas!
-
Crazydaisy...it has been a long time. Good to see you again.
Sorry that you won't be able to join us though.
-
Even if it rains we will have a good time. What's a little rain for a group like us?
-
Hope you all have a wonderful get together!! I'll raise my glass with you in Elizabeth's honour.
-
woo hoo.....see all y'all soon!!!! I posted the below for dream but it made me thing of KK!
By the way...this sound dumb but do people use both US and Canadian money in border areas?
-
-
Checking in to wish you all a wonderful time. Green with jealousy doesn't begin to explain how much I would love to be there with you all, but I'm there is spirit. As 3monst says, I will be there at the appointed time to pay tribute to our dear sweet KK.
Can someone post here when you are about to raise a glass to her? I would love to join in .
Bren, glad that Mr. Tim has plenty of water this time.
Heat: I must have a resting temperature of 100 degrees. It's the damned hormone therapy that does it, IMO.
E: Did BCO send you all a banner? How cool! Make sure we see it in the pictures.
Hugs to all!
-
BCO did send me a banner, Athena! In a long and thin triangular box. I haven't opened it yet but will wait until NOTL for the grand unveiling.
-
Canadian money is worth more than American these days but border towns might accept either. Credit cards always work
