To enter through my window when suddenly

The front door squeaked...... and I heard a high pitched  voice say "Surprise"......

 it was a good thing that it was her instead of my boyfriend. We were supposed to be going shopping for garden gnomes today.  He was so looking forward to it. Maybe I'll tell her I'm meeting Reginald in 10 minutes - she won't want me to keep him hanging about.
