SusieQ - I'd love to "sign" your petition, please put a sunflower next to the Lion's pawprint.Tongue out

eta: just went to the Alt, Compl/Holistic whatever the F they call it Forum to read what the mods have added - it brings to mind, that all time favorite line from a waaaaaay back when movie:

    "You're gonna need a bigger boat."Sealed

Linda, congratulations. Sending over a bottle of our best bubbly!!

Bren, I've decided there's not much difference between being a chaplain and a bartender. Both listen to people in a place they feel free to be themselves. Maybe my next job. Plus, bartenders get tips!!

Chaplain .. I tended bar when I lived in Utah the first time in my twenties.  It was a part time job.  What a hoot.  Except in Utah they don't serve mixed drinks.  You can buy beer in the bar and mixers, but that's it.  You have to carry in your own booze!  During the day I drove a forklift for UDOT.  I had a blast back in those days!

I can't believe it's been 30 years. They've gone by so fast. I was a child bride(21) and I still feel like I'm 21 until I look in the mirror. Laughing

    Thanks, Rosemary and Bren!

I am very envious of the hot weather everyone else seems to be getting. We made it to about 73 today here in Seattle, and we have more rain and cooler temps forecasted for the rest of the week. Sigh.

Ohmygosh .. Mary it is so freakin' hot and humid here.  And according to NOAA it's going to get hotter in the next few days.  I wish I could send some of this heat your way!

I'll take the heat-please send at least a little of it my way! I wore a down vest and long sleeved shirt yesterday. That is just wrong for July 17th.

    Edited to add: Thanks Blue!

We picked a good date to tie the knot, didn't we Mary?  Congrats on 30 years!

Had a lovely dinner and more dessert and wine than I should have, but what the hey!

Thanks so much for all your good wishes -- hard to believe we're still alive and kicking lo these many years later.  Thank goodness for a healthy sense of humour!  (Right, Mary?Wink)

Linda-a sense of humor is vital. There have been many things in my life that if I couldn't laugh about them, I probably would have cried.

If anyone thinks it's pathetic that I'm on the boards rather than going out for my anniversary-we went out last night. The waitress said she couldn't believe we'd been married 30 years-she said we looked "new".

Aww, man, Britchick is leaving us??? I've put a little space between myself and BCO lately. And as hectic as my life is geting right now, I may just take a hiatus myself till mid-August. It's that moth to the flame thing that I just can't get control of, ya know? And then, I'll find someone on another forum who hasn't been answered yet, who needs a little information, who needs some encouragement, and I can't just leave it alone.

And, really, I like my friends here...But BCO has changed during the 9 years I've been here. And not for the better, lately.

Mary, sending another bottle of champagne your way.

I'm really sorry about Britchik. I sent a pm asking her to stay, but have not heard back.

Sending a last call. I need to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow. Anyone want to take over as bartender for the night?

Linda and Mary, congrats from me, too.  I am secretly envious of women who met their future husbands much earlier in life than I did and have been together as long as you have.  Mr. otter and I discovered each other just 29 years ago and have been married 23-1/2 years.  Those have been very good years, though.  I'm happy for that.

Britchick... I hope I didn't contribute to your unhappiness by asking for clarification of a comment you made on the Alt forum.  I was feeling prickly that day, so my question might have come across as less patient than it should have been. I've enjoyed reading your posts, and I hope you decide to stay around even if you post less.  (But, I would sure understand if you do leave.  I've considered walking away half a dozen times in the past month or two.)

Well, we saw Harry Potter 7.5 this afternoon (that's how it was advertised on the board at the theater:  "7.5").  All I can say is, "Wow."  I do have some questions; but I think I'll have to read the books to find the answers.  I suspect Mr. otter and I are the only people on the planet who saw all the HP movies without having read any of the books.  Everything was a complete surprise.  That's not necessarily a bad thing, because we weren't comparing the movies to the books like other people were.  BTW:  You don't have to see HP&DH2 in 3-D format to enjoy it.
