I met a gal from Texas who swears by a bowl of spinach every night for her leg cramps. If she misses a nightly bowl, her cramps come back! Who woudathought!

enjoyful ... I suppose you have already tried eating bananas and/or taking magnesium?  Glad you're back ... we miss your quips when you are off having fun elsewhere :)

I'm pretty sure Requip is what my sister takes for restless legs.  It works for her ... but I bet that's why she buys purses in every size, shape and color Wink  Last time she was here she even sucked me into purse shopping.

Raw or cooked?  I wonder if a spinach smoothie would do the trick?

I was actually trying to make a complementary -- complimentary pun, but it really didn't work very well. Thanks to everyone who tried to help out!

Any type of spinach, I believe. Spinach Smoothie? Sounds wonderful! I had a Kale smoothie yesterday... was a tad chewy. I probably didn't spin it long enough!

I can't remember why I tried it or who told me about it - must be chemo brain even after all this time :)

Linda - I was being punny again.  :-)

WR - I live on bananas!  I didn't have this problem before Arimidex, so I'll blame it on that.  I also blame Arimidex for the oil spill in the Yellowstone River, the debt ceiling debacle, global climate change, and the dog hair that attaches to my black pants.

When I was still working as a nurse, alot of my patients swore by the soap remedy. I have suffered severe RLS since I was a small child and actually tried the soap because I didn't want to be on another medication. It didn't work for me at all but it did make the sheets smell good! It's just like any other tx... very individual to the person's body chemistry. So while it works for some, may not work for others.

I also wanted to thank all of you amazing women! I keep up with most of your posts and I have learned so much from you all. I must sound like a stalker!!  I feel like I have gotten to know you by reading so many of your posts. Thanks to all of you wonderful ladies so much!!!

So a guy walks into a bar and orders a beer.  When the bartender walks off to fill the order, the man hears a voice saying "Wow, what a great tie!  Good choice with that shirt."  The guy looks around, but sees no one.  The bartender comes back with his beer and guy grabs a handful of peanuts and takes a few gulps of beer.  Mid-gulp, he hears the voice again "Your eyes are amazingly blue!  Are you related to Paul Newman?"  He whirls around, spilling part of his beer, but no one's there.  When the bartender returns to give the guy a refill, the guy says "Hey, I keep hearing voices telling me how great I look, but nobody's here.  Am I going crazy?"  The bartender says "No, not at all.  It's the peanuts - they're complimentary."

    E -- Guffaw, guffaw!!!!

Hi alamik -- good to see you here!  Actually, the soap seems to only work (and I guess not for everyone) for leg cramps, not RLS.  If only it did <sigh>.   But, as you say, my sheets do smell good!

This will sound stupid - but I have to move my legs because they're HOT at night.  Maybe I should wrap my legs in frozen peas before I go to bed?

Blue~~ also wanted to say that I missed your posts when you were banned. I still don't understand why you have had so many problems. You seem like a perfectly lovely woman with a brilliant sense of humor!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. It's sometimes hard for me to post as the chemo did a number on my vision. I finished it a little over a month ago and waiting for the vision to get better. I have the font up extremely large just to read!

Hey E!!! I was thinking about you today. I think the frozen peas is an excellent idea. I was telling someone today that I wished I could get those great leg massager things they put on your legs during surgery. Aaaaaahh one of the many pleasure of going under. Laughing sending PM

Hello ladies...I've been reading but not posting...these past few days have been crazy. I had my niece stay with me for a couple of days...I don't know how you parents do it. I am so use to my single life..I swear I've never been so exhausted.

Hahahahaha Linda!  I meant the old lady version of hot - hot flashes and whatnot.

Alamik - Yikes!  Sorry you're having vision problems with chemo.  Has it started improving at all yet?

Thank you Alamik.  Hope your vision problems are temporary.

E, do you think the peas would be cooked by morning.  You could kill 2 birds with one stone.

Seriously, I have one of those machines, "Oxyflow" which helps with the legs.  Helps with the circulation.

I have no leg problems except a sore hip which I blame on Femara. AIs are the cause of all evil in the world.

It helps relax me E.  I take l-dopa so can't say if its the machine or the meds that do it for the RLS.

The eye doctor says it should be getting better soon. Some days are worse than others. We have this huge tv in our bedroom and at times I can barely make out faces on the screen. Thanks for the concern. I have used a heating pad to help the RLS. Used to crack up the hubby at night in bed (that didn't sound very complimentary/complementary).... I would do the bicycle. Hoist the legs in the air and ride away. haha!! It actually helped some. And some say that sex helps too! Sorta relieves tension.

As described here, RLS sounds like a SE I had during my first few chemo sessions. No cramps, but I just couldn't stay in bed at night. I wondered whether I was losing it at first. I'd lay down and pop right back up to go... where? Didn't know, didn't seem to matter, but I just had to move. I'd end up pacing the apartment for hours. Every time I laid back down, I would tell myself to "stay!". And the second my concentration wavered, I'd pop right up again. My onc blamed it on the steroid bursts I got before each treatment (which it could also be).

Thankfully, it went away about midway through chemo. I can't even imagine having that sensation forever. (((hugs)))

Welcome Alamik. E good one. I don't have RLS (fingers crossed) so I can't help but I will ask around for other remedies.

Morning Athena. Getting some nectar of the gods.
