Welcom, Alamik and good morning to everyone from your resident lurker <pulling cape over face and hunching over, ducking behind corner>. Barbara, I've already had my elixir of life -- I can't leave the house without it. I am a public menace uncaffeinated, and to tell you the truth am a little worried about having to be caffeine-free in the hospital. PS said no caffeine in the hospital, but I can have my one 12-oz cup/day once I get home. Gonna have a GIANT migraine -- hope their spiffy pain drugs work for that! No schedule yet, just ... anticipating. And if you weren't talking about coffee, Barbara, I apologize!

Welcome alamik
I live in southwest Michigan so we are almost neighbors.
I am leaving now have to go get my hair cut and get highlights. I always was my natural color(with some help) before chemo but since it grew back I have been getting highlights and sometimes lowlights (with semipermanent dye which I was told was okay). My DH doesn't like it all that much but it's my hair and I am proud to have it and I feel like I worked hard to get it even though all I did was watch it fall out and then watch it grow back.

RLS is like a bunch of worms in your legs and you just can't shake them loose. Horrible feeling. I'm off to my Movement Disorder Specialist and then to the Mandarin (like I need it). I went from 114 lbs to 130 and I feel absolutely fat. Don't know what to wear.
I don't know if I can colour my hair yet....gonna ask today,
-
Good morning pony, hope your mood is better today and you don't go asking to have all the threads deleted.
-
Don't have RLS, so have no suggestions to offer. I have heard about the soap for leg cramps, but since I have been eating more bananas, my leg cramps have eased off, especially since I finished my tamoxifen last year. Make it a lavender/chamomile scented soap, and you can make your bed a sleep enhancing aromatherapy experience.
Maybe try some "Mineral Ice" for cooling and relaxing the legs? I used the horse strength product, simply because it is what I have always used since being a trainer, but they have people strength product also. It's kind of an icy/hot sensation, and I imagine in combination with a fan, would aid cooling. However, the smell is strong, and not conducive to romance!
Welcome Alamik! I have several Komen sisters in your area. Hoping to be able to get there one day for their annual breast fest.
Hugs to you, Happy Libby! I agree that an uncaffeinated life would suck! I'll have an extra cup for you today.
-
Thank you all for the warm welcome. Wishing you all a fantabulous day!
-
Hi Y'all!
On my third cup of 'nectar' this morning. I overslept so it takes twice as much coffee to wake me up!
Welcome Alamik! Wishing you a wonderful day too. I'm sorry to hear about your eyesight. I hope it improves quickly ... as it must be very frustrating for you.
Some good news .. Tim has recovered and is getting ready to go back on the road this a.m.
Have a great day everyone,
Bren

Happy Wednesday - boy, a lot of action while I was sleeping, but think folks missed the sweetest, well, I thought it was sweet/funny, response to a request from the BCOB&G, which Blue kindly offered "as long as you want it shaken not stirred."
Well, I smiled, and commiserated with women, most of us, who have to use humour to deal with such serious, serious situations. Love the words, cartoons really feel like an interruption to me, but there we are.
Enjoyful - nice to see you, hope things are becoming easier for you....sunflowers
-
alamik, Welcome and hope you have a great day.
BinVa glad Time is feeling better.
Such a welcome sight ha raining already this morning.
-

Sunflowers .. for you from my garden!
-
Thank you, mods - best option all around.
I am on my second nectar, as my first spilled all over my bag!
Lovely sunflowers!
-
SUNFLOWERS
They really are heartwarming. Thank you.Hope weather is cooler in VA, and DC. It's lovely up 'north' (being relative of course)
Must've missed what the Mods did - but if Athena agrees, then I'm sure I would too.
Welcome, Alamik.
-
Sunflowers .. the weather sucks down here already this a.m. The humidity is off the charts and the heat index is already pushing 100.
Athena .. are you talking about that other locked thread? I think it's a good idea it was shut down before things could really get out of hand.

Gorgeous sunflowers. Still HOT here but it is FL in summer. Coming up on 4th anniversary 7/28. We are taking another cruise (not as extravagant as the last one) so that will be when we celebrate. We will just go out for a nice dinner on the day. Tomorrow DH's band plays at Caddy's on the Beach starting at 7. Should be a great sunset and cooler.
This is a fun place. http://www.caddysotb.com/

Bren -- Speaking of temps, the last few days were verging on 90, but today it's sunny, breezy and a balmy 76! Hope it's that way in mid-August
. Now to go outside and enjoy it! -
Good morning all and welcome alamik!
Alamik - my eyesight got so bad during chemo that I had to change my reading glasses twice in 6 months. Not only that any bright lights would really bother me. I am happy to say that this does go away after a period of time.
Off to ride my horse today and then a 6 mile hike up the canyons so it will be a very busy day for me.
-
It might -might- rain today.
Barbara, when the weather improves here, I hope you make it up to my neck of the woods.
-
Jancie~~~ Thanks for the encouragment!! It just gets infuriating since I had perfect vision before all of this.
-
alamik - hope you are done with the chemo soon - or the chemo drug that did this to you, at any rate!
-
Athena, when I come up, I usually stay with my BFF in Kensington. You near a Metro? Looks like it may happen in early Oct but not sure yet.
-
Oh no Athena - what a waste of good coffee to have it spill! My day doesn't get started without one, preferably two cups of coffee. And to add insult to injury, you have a mess to clean without enough coffee to function. Those are the days a person should just go back to bed and start again an hour or so later. Hope your day is improving.
-
H, ha - I wish I could. Actually, it did not stop me from doing power yoga this morning either.
Barbara, yes I do.
-
Overcast and cool here today. Thank Heavens! Last night's NBC Evening news said Owensboro KY was hottest place in U.S. yesterday. I think they said the heat index was 126. (could that be right?) So, looks like we win! What an honor. Woo Hoo! Kentucky is finally first in something, besides lung cancer, obesity and teen pregnancies.
Hope everyone has a nice day. Haven't even thought about dinner but I'm having cold Fricken Chicken for lunch!
-
Some people are so rude!
Sorry, other thread is very irritating...
-
Yes, Ang, I absolutely agree ... and you are NOT rude!
L
-
Alpal, LMBO!
Ang, my head is exploding. Cannot even think about it.
-
Thanks. I am going to have another cup of coffee...
-
Bren and Athena ... we finally got a cool down today. Hopefully it's coming your way too.
-
Ang7, I just "visited" to see what you were referring to, very, very troubling. I find those postings acutally bothersome, like glaring neon lights. Really don't understand, or want to get into, why anyone would condemn a thread, then ask for it to be deleted, and then post on it.
Houston, we have a problem.
and it's more then my poor spelling
-
Alpal -- one more first to add to your neck of the woods -- Lexington is apparently the most "sedentary" city in the U.S. Can that really be true?
