Don't forget Amazon!  If you can buy online, what more do you need!  I used to be an ebay groupie, even selling for awhile but spending more than I made.  Hey, can I get points for my wallet going down?

Thanks n3ypb - I'll try that next week! I would never have thought of that! I usually cut and paste someone's so I don't have to type it all. Lately though, my computer hasn't been letting me paste in this box - or bold or italicize either. I'm guessing maybe a BCO glitch......

Anyway - I'm wondering how I'm ever going to get the extra exercise in for the 24 points. It's a holiday, it's over 100 degrees every day so walking and weeding don't sound fun....... I don't like to get up REALLY early or walk after dark.....sounds like excuses, but I'd really like the 24 points. It almost guarantees the 2 points for weight loss. There's extra snacks in the house though and DH and DS x 2 home.....which means extra food.....

Deep breath - one step at a time - we CAN do it!

Hi 2hands4me, don't think of it as 25 pts you have to make.  Break it down - Water every day = easy 7 pts.  Friday check in - easy 3 pts.  One hour of exercise for 6 days (or 1-1/2 hours for 4 days)  and 30 mins for the 'I don't feel like it' remaining day.  Hardest part actually is the 2 pts for the weight.   We have this week and next week to get there.  We can do this, holiday food notwithstanding (yeah, my DQ today doesn't help!)

Tip on the exercise - did you do any housework today because it counts.  Make a bed, sweep a floor, vacuum a rug, clean the litter box, it's all movement and burns calories (I know because I did all of that today).  Have steps in the house, walk up and down ten times.  Do wheelies on the LR floor - okay, maybe that's a little over the top but you get the idea.

Enjoy everyone.  I have more movement to do today.  Later.

I defrosted our upright freezer with DH help. I figure at least 1 1/2 hours of lifting, bending and reaching as quickly as possible to get it unloaded and then reloaded before everything thawed out! DH did the ice melting and carrying boxes inside by the air conditioner. Whew! Glad that's done for a couple years! I wasn't planning on it but when he suggested it and it's been on my list of things to do for months - I sure wasn't going to turn down the offer of help! It looks SO-O-O-O-O-O nice all clean and organized. And there's room! And I got points too! Thanks for the encouragement patoo!

Val, have a great trip!!!! You have earned it!!

I have been working with another woman decluttering my house, and yesterday spent 9 hours straight working, running up and down stairs, moving furniture, etc.  I was sore this morning! Actually, we took a lunch break and a couple of other short breaks.  Now half my house is usable again!!!  Laughing  And I got quite a workout!

Linda, I could use you at my house for some decluttering motivation! You killed two birds with one stone..... getting a workout, too. Yay

Val, It sounds like an amazing cruise. Enjoy every moment!

2Hands, nice to have "defrost the freezer" off the list, I'm sure! My ice maker quit working this week and I almost panicked.  No fun drinking water in this heat with no ice.  Got to get the daily water requirement in Wink.

The 4th of July festivities had me up a couple pounds, and I'm trying my best to get them back off and a net loss for the week.

Til' tomorrow........ and remember to eat less, move more.

Good Friday morning.  I hardly know what day it is anymore.  Since sarting my new job I have yet to have a day I watch the clock for quitting time. (Well maybe the day I came home from Vegas at 4:30 am and went to work at 7:00 am).  I am more surprised each day as to how fast it went.

I am having problems with my weight and know exercise would improve it.  I shoudl start walking again, but the temps are over 100 when I get off work, and they stay that way well into the evening.

Hope everyone is having a nice summer.  You gals are still an inspiration to take these pounds off.

Hmmmm..... my post disappeared!!  So here I go again ....

Anyway first of all congratulations to Zogo and NM on your personal bests.  Meece sounds like you are enjoying your new job.  I'm really nervous as I might have to try and get a job - but I've been self employed for the past 25 years and I've never had to put myself out there - I don't know where to start and I'm not trained for anything.

Anyway I've really let things slip since my recon surgery 2 months ago.  I've gained 14lbs!!  I checked back on my food/diet diary and it took me 8 months to lose 14 lbs and then I managed to gain it all back in quarter of that time.  So no more backsliding, the surgery is done for a while, the scans and tests are done, Mum is still in the nursing home and it seems likely thats going to be a permanent move so I can't use those as excuses to comfort eat. The only problem now is seeing how stressed DH is about no work/income and I must say it's causing me some sleepless nights too.  But undoing all my weightloss work is not going to help matters so I must just get myself motivated and stick with it.

    Anyway..........Roadrunner Checking In   3 pts

    Water   7pts

    Exercise 14pts

    Weight Waaaaaay up    0pts

Extra for anxious wait for test/scan results and physio   1 pt

    Total     25 pts

Well ladies I hope you all have a good week.  I will spend the week trying to resist food!!  I must E-LAB !!

    Checking in = 3 points.

The following is a post I put up in the garden-of-prayers:

This has been a hard day.

I have just learned, via my parents, that my older brother (who is a life-long single man, somewhat of a hermit of a person) was in a serious fire in his home at the beginning of the week. He has been in intensive care since the fire on July 3rd. They have him in an induced coma all this time.

They have just now been able to determine his identification (by locating his cell phone in the remnants of his place) and were able to ascertain how to get ahold of my parents.

He has some sort of machine directly into his lungs to help w his breathing. Apparently the smoke inhallation/damage is of the gravest concern at this time. They hope/plan to have an 'operation' (term?) to remove the lung/breathing machine and go with a trach. My parents were able to approve that intervention on his behalf this afternoon. They would like to do that procedure on Mon if all continues as planned.

He lives in southern FL. My parents are in Augusta & have their own health concerns. We're up here in northern WI.My neice Kelly, (the one recovering from thyroid cancer -- that we prayed for a while back) is getting married in two weeks. That's my sister's family.

Presently there is nothing 'to be done' for my brother -- other than prayer.

I've just gotten off the phone w my mom and I'm sure I'm in something akin to shock.

The other major need of prayer is my daughter, Sarah, (mother of the 3 WonderPeeps). She called early this afternoon in the midst of a hypo-glycemic attack. I quake at this situation. I can't even type out that story as it is too close to my heart and I might come unhinged in sharing the details. She seems to be 'ok-ish' tonight. Sun she had an episode and Scott was there and called the squad. I don't think he'd seen her that bad before. Scott is now on a mission -- so she's there on her own.

It's times like this, I realize how far in over my head, this life here on Earth can be. I need your prayers on my behalf -- for my where withall in the face of these various stories that I can't actually impact directly.

Thanks for your continued presence here. I knew that I had an immediate place of refuge.

Thanks birdies for letting me share. I'm sure I must have earned some points this week, but for the life of me, don't know and certainly can't think straight enough to add them up.

Everyone please take very good care of yourselves. You've each come to mean a great deal to me.

    xx00xx00xx00xx

Oh, my, Faithy!  So much to deal with in one week!  I am praying for you and all  your family.  What your brother probalby has is what is called an endotracheal tube--a tube going from his mouth into his windpipe.  The tube attaches to a breathing machine.  This approach is used in an emergency, during sugery, and for short lengths of time (as in a few days to a week or so) after an injury.  The trach operation (a tracheotomy) opens a small hole in the windpipe below the level of the the voice box, and allows for a tube to be put into his windpipe without going through the vocal cords like the through the mouth tube does  This allows the body's normal reflexes prevent mucus and such from getting into the lungs.  The through the mouth tube can allow mucus to trickle into the lungs and cause pneumonia and other problems.  With the tracheotomy a person can eat and drink normally and there is less risk of damage to the tongue and throat. It's a safe and surgically easy procedure that has a lot of benefits for the patient in situaitons like this.  I'm sure you are in shock right now.  Such a hard thing to find out about!

Sarah's hypoglycemic episode is frightening, too.So much to deal with in one week, Faithie.  I have faith in your strength, and am praying God sends you even more.

Hugs faith! We'll certainly pray - for your brother and parents and daughter and YOU, too. God is in control and He IS able!

Maintaining from prior week = 1 point (still 172.6 - but had gained briefly so I'm pleased to be                                                                                      back down to my low!)
    Exercising = 14 points
    Making the Friday Check-in = 3 points
    Water = 7 points

    Extra credit = ????

Total = 25 points !!!!!!! (Thanks again for the nudge, patoo!)

By the way - I was unable to cut and paste, so asked my son and he figured it out! You now have to click on the "Text symbol" (7 from the left in the bar above where you type your message). This will bring up another box, allow you to paste, then click on the "insert" box in the lower left cornor of the box. It will put it in the message box! I'm not sure why or how it changed.....

Everyone have a good weekend! Eat less, move more!
