OK everyone. If you would like to send a rose or roses for a big pink bouquet for Lisa, please call Francis Florists 770-949-8711. Say that you would like to add rose(s) for $6.75 a piece to the Pink Rose Tribute-they will know exactly who that is for. We must have at least 12 roses (I purchased 2). If you prepare ahead of time what you want the card to say they will write it out and attach the card to your rose. The gentleman I spoke to said their business is doing the family flowers as well, so just saying Pink Rose Tribute will be sufficient. He warned it you try to do it on-line it will ask you for a delivery charge so calling is best. Joni2

At this point I know we have at least 14 roses for the bouquet.  I will ask Tina if she could take a photo & post in the next day or 2 on FB.

Hi gals-I just ordered 2 roses for Lisa.  I met her on the August chemo(2009) thread.  I made a Chicago Bears scarf for Lisa since she could not find the fabric in Georgia. Lisa and I shared the same DX date and had similar stats too.  I am deeply saddened that she is gone.  My prayers go out to her family and to all my BC sisters.

Thanks Eph for setting up things with the florist

The viewing is @ 4PM Eastern & so depending on where you are in the country, keep that in mind when you call. Mary when you call in the AM will you ask how many roses have been purchased so far? I posted the info on 3 threads, and by my count there is somewhere in the vicinty of 20 something, but the original info got posted onto a couple other threads by others that knew her from different threads so I'm not sure what # we are looking at. Lisa's daughter will post a picture on FB, she promised me. And I will make sure it gets onto BCO threads!

Jacee - so glad that you got an update on Lisa's mother.  I too, had wondered how she was doing - but hated to ask.  What an ordeal that family has been through with both being diagnosed and so closely together.  And the greatest cross to bear - loosing a child!

I sent a message yesterday evening (UK time) to the florist asking them to add 2 roses from me and asking about paying with PayPal. I have not heard back from them though. Looking on the web site I couild not see any other way to order online. I wouldn't mind about paying a delivery fee, just would like to be included.

I too had wondered about Lisa's mother and not dared to ask, glad she is doing well.

I got a break from my meeting and called the florist this morning around 11:00 to order a rose for Lisa.  And, as Sheila said the lady I spoke with was very nice and very familiar with us. She told me that they were just getting ready to work on the arrangement and that it was going to be very beautiful.

Hello Ladies, I wanted to share something postive and this is what I invented before cancer but having cancer made me motivated to acgtually do it and get it out there. Would love for you to share and lend support. I pray for each of you daily and as soon as I see a postin my email I read and say a prayer for what ever your needs are. Take care:)

I also wanted to share that I have loads of easy recipes to go with so anytime you need to know what is for dinner pop over and look something up. When I had my surgery I could not or was afraid to move my arms for fear of ripping a stich and using bags to do everything was a huge help and as a chef I had always used them but invented The Bag Holder to have a container to help me to everything that a bowl or plastic containers did. I hope you love it, share it and show some support. I was a TCH girl and currently in the neratinib trial with 4 weeks left. Since I thought I would be dead by now I moved quick and wanted to make things hapen, do any of you feel that way. Praying for a cure each day> http://www.thebagholder.net/  see me on face book too:)

    My dear friends from 09,

Sitting here crying reading the last couple of pages.  I haven't visited in over a year and then I logged on to BC.org and thought I'd check in.  I was stunned to hear about Lisa and so sorry I couldn't contribute in some way to the rose, etc. at the time.

I wanted to share, that Lisa continues to touch lives.  Because of the help this list gave me during chemo, I am able to help a coworker facing the same thing - giving her the bc.org information and urging her to start with whatever June/July list will be starting for chemo in 2011.  I forwarded to her the websites listed that everyone contributed and she so generously took the time to post.  Her kindness and love and yours as well continues to form ripples out to people you don't even know, even via way of a list like this - all of the friends, family, coworkers, neighbors we will help in the future.  Thank you.  My prayers are with everyone on this list.  Love, Kathy

Hi Kathy,  I'm sorry that you weren't able to be in on the roses, but I know that Lisa's family was very touched by our collective love for her.

I too have recently had to print out the lists, etc that Lisa & others made for us; a friend of mine has just recently been diagnosed with the beast & I have been giving her info & urging her to join BCO.

FYI @ our Relay for Life yesterday there was booth for Casting for Recovery, an organization that provides retreats for breast cancer patients & survivors @ no cost.  It's a lottery system to be picked to go & the focus is learning to flyfish, but there are other things at the retreat besides that.  Anyway, if anyone is interested it's at www.castingforrecovery.org  Sounds like fun!
