I am 3rd day after 2nd chemo and feeling ok, slept so much of the day. Nauseated again but its manageable. Had food, probably what I shouldn't have, ate toast w/ jelly, then 3 chicken nuggets and a baked potato, later watermellon, yummy loved that. I read that I shouldn't eat fresh veggies are fruit but since it has a thick skin i'm hoping it ok. For dinner just had some chicken noodle soup, it was good.
Since I do have some anxiety I do try to stay away from too much info, it only makes me more anxious. I do visit or try to visit this board daily, even though I don't post often. I am wishing ya'll the best and we will all be ok
Good night and God bless, sleep well May Ladies

txladysara, it seems day 3-4 are the worst days after chemo. I always feel good the day after and then go down hill for a few, then start to fell better again. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi everyone. Feeling great (and wide awake) on my post-treatment steroids!
Blonde lawyer, you must be on the I-Spy 2 Trial. I didn't qualify for it b/c of the low-risk Mammaprint score. But, I am doing the same regimen; 12 weekly Taxol+Herceptin and then, , 4 bi-weekly AC. I feel good enough on Taxol to continue to exercise. Why won't they let you do more exercise, if you feel up to it? Is it out of concern for your blood sugar?
Candice, I am so happy you have a plan. And, you start tomorrow. I think you will feel so much relief after the treatment starts. I know I felt like I was going to go insane while waiting to begin. Good luck tomorrow. You will do great.
Steff66, you don't have a poor prognosis. Yours is early stage and you are very treatable. But it's so difficult to deal with the "what if". I don't think it would be normal if you didn't feel scared and a need to read everything possible. It's overwhelming, though. So, every now and again, I try to do something mindless, like watch the Real Housewives of Orange County or something. LOL.
Anyway, I have the Look Good/Feel Better session tomorrow. I hear it's great so, I will report back.
Good night, everyone. Here's hoping you all feel good! -
Katarina, thanks. I don't know if neo-adjuvant is truly the best way. It took some getting used to; the idea of not removing the cancer ASAP. I got a second opinion just to be sure.
. It buys me a little time to think about surgery choices, too. How are you feeling after your hospital visit?
-
Taxol #7 for me today - Lord help me and all of us facing the chair!
-
schedule for today-labs at dr office at 8 muga scan at hospital at 9 back to office to wait for results, if results are good back to hospital to check in. Start an iv drip of liquids and wait for chemo to arrive. Chemo usually doesn't arrive until 7 or 8 pm. so that means in the hospital until 8 pm on friday. Kinda nice to get the break in the hospital, but also kinda getting tired of it, it gets really boring.
Hope all goes well for you mamav and others having treatment this week.
Laureen, you are probably feeling pretty good at this time! I have felt pretty good this week, even worked a little!
-
Nuelasta yesterday, you are not kidding bkj66 day 3 today and I was just in tears from feeling so awful. I'm armed with all the meds to fight the SE, but mostly just patience and the focus on the goal.
-
Good to hear from some you that haven't been on for awhile. Laura, I'm in the same spot as you...Nuelasta yesterday and feel crappy today, although not as bad as I did after 1st trt. Anyone else have jaw and cheekbone pain? I don't remember it from last time. Neck sore too.
-
Sue53, I did have jaw pain and neck the first time when they gave me neulasta plus 3 nuepogen shots. when i had only the neulasta it wasn't so bad.
I passed my muga and blood counts, so now I am in my hospital suite waiting for my chemo.
-
My chemo went good, got out at 1245pm no nausia yet, hopefully none will come.
When I was going to the hospital for the test pre chemo, I was going to the information desk to check in and they called me by name. That tells me I am there too much. LOL Even with the 13" cut off my hair.
Today I went to a different enterance, they didnt call me by name.
I go back tomarrow for a shot.

Just got back from mo. My WBC only 1.4. She will be injecting neulasta day after next tx.
Does anyone know how long it takes for WBC to bounce back? I cant remember what mo said, but now I'm a little freaked out going into a weekend, well almost. Looks like I'll be staying home again. I was hoping to go to a movie. -
Debrox, mine got down to .8 and they told me to be careful in crowds and avoid if possible. I don't don't know how long it took to bounce up after shot, but at me week after appointment I was up to 10.
38y/o, glad you finally had chemo! And happy to hear it went well! Now the chemo is kicking some cancer a$$.
Just a warning to all, I am in the hospital for 24 hours and bored, which equals ......serial positings!!!!
-
Sue - I had that a little bit. Bone pain? I had that a kittle the first time. Take it easy.
-
Patriotic: Yep, I'm on iSpy. The exercise restriction is part of this ACTIVE program I'm in. The idea is to reduce the chances of fatigue, so they don't want you to exercise too much. But this is just frustrating for me, so I am going to talk to the doctor about it. I see the PT for the program tomorrow and then the doctor on Monday. I also see my oncologist on Monday so I will talk to him about it too.
-
38 - glad you are finally receiving treatment. The waiting is truly the hardest part!
bkj66 - post on, sister!
-
beaglesgirl,
thank you for the concern! i have been stressed lately, thus away from the computer. I have been asked to move out of the room i was renting for almost three years and now still looking for a room to rent in the bay area. the owner of the house couldn't have picked the most perfect timing to ask me to step out! ha!
i'm staying with a friend for now, still looking for a new home. i am really crossing my fingers to find a new place soon. nothing could be more stressful than having chemo and not having a roof over your head!
i'm hanging in here. will go back for my #3 on monday.
Laureen
-
katarina,
yeah, i started losing clumps of hair on day 16. today is my day 26 and still have few stubbles left. hope all is well with you.
Laureen
-
cyborg,
yeah, i missed a lot lately. i posted earlier the reason why i have been off-line. i have cancer, i'm on chemo, and i'm homeless right now. nothing could be worse, believe me.
what was the vaginal mass message that read from you earlier? sorry, keep me updated, i have been out of the loop.
hope you're doing okay.
Laureen
-
bkj66,
same here. day 3 and 4 are my worst, too. hope you're hanging in there.
Laureen
-
Laureen - what awful timing for a move! I hope you find a new home very soon.
-
Cyborg - any news from your appt?
-
DebRox - my WBC dropped to .8 or lower after every AC. Even with the neulasta!!!! Never got higher than 5.0 and that was three weeks later. Except for going to work, I was homebound the whole time on AC. Hang in there!
Laureen - that is just WRONG! I wil pray you find a new home soon! So sorry you have that stress added to cancer and chemo!
-
Laureen: so sorry to hear about your situation. It is completely wrong. I don't think your landlord has a conscience. Wishing you the best. (((hugs)))
MamaV: thanks for the info on WBC. Makes me feel a little better to know that is normal.
Neecee: thanks as well.
I'm feeling very tired today. Probably due to feeling low and down. Met with MO and bloodwork shocked me. I hope my WBCs bounce back quickly on their own. Don't know how long that takes. Looks like I will miss my BFFs sons graduation ceremony. I don't want to be in a large crowd!
Another day towards the end of chemo nearly done. Thank goodness! -
Did anyone's hair hurt when it started to fall out? Mine felt like someone was trying to shove the hair back in my head. I finally had to shave.
-
blondelawyer.....I'm a triathlete also and I'm still riding my bike. A little afraid the first time to get aboard, but I love the freedom. Feel good after, but have a bit of a downer too if I doo too many miles. Only up to 20 now cuz I have a ride for my hospital later in June.
-
Urethral diverticulum. Surgery after rads. Minor surgery.
Laureen- dang, girl. Moving? NOW??? Of course you're stressed.
I am going to re review this thread and other threads. -
Debrox, Be sure to take the claritin 2 hrs before the neulasta shot and then again about 3 hrs after....it is like doubledosing, but supposedly it helps A LOT. I took it today also because for sure I do not want to feel like I did the last time.....instant arthritis! I get my shot again tomorrow since they were so far behind on Wed., I went back and got my actual chemo today and they just left the needle and tubing in me and put a big plactic bandage over the whole deal and let me go to work yesterday. Normally I would have gotten the neulasta today, but they never give it the same day as the treatment the nurse said. It will go up pretty quicky...when I had my blood work done one week after it had gone all the way to 39.9 from three something the week before.
My hair hurt when the wind would blow on it before it started coming out. I am still on the fence about the wig...went to the wig place tonight, but also have a lot of scarves to try.
If you really want to go somewhere, don't be embarrassed to wear a mask. I double masked the last time I flew and to tell you truth if people are so rude as to stare, I just honestly do not care....let them get the germs.
-
Had my second Taxol treatment on Tuesday. Experiencing a lot of diahheria again--my oncologist thinks that it is from the experimental trial drug I'm on, so I'm off of that until I get "normal." Started to feel really tired again at the end of the day today--which is the same timing of the first treatment. If it is similar to last week, tomorrow will be my worst day. I have PT, but nothing else scheduled, so hopefully it will be okay. The SEs really frustrate me, I'm not good a feeling so incapacitated!
Today is an emotionally difficult day--13 years ago I got engaged and 7 months ago my husband died.

(((((blondelawyer)))))

Thanks for the suggestions marybe. I've stocked up on claritan.
Hugs to blondelawyer.
Another day closer to the end of chemo.
