It has rained here in Western New York for what feels like 40 days and 40 nights, tomorrow we are supposed to have no rain, temp, in the 70's and sunshine, everyone is so excited.  Feels like the calm after a huge snowstorm.  This has been the rainiest spring since statistics have been kept, but when you see the pictures of the tornadoes and floods, it feels like we have been lucky.

There was actually a small tornado sighted and verified in our area.  Well, 20 miles away, but close.  We have had rainy and gloomy skies for days, then this morning the sun was so bright it hurt my eyes.  Tomorrow it is supposed to cool down again.  Makes dressing for the weather difficult, and by this time, I usually have my sweaters all packed away!

MEECE!   That was just about 19.9 miles too close! I'd be TERRIFIED!

How do you sleep at night knowing this can happen without warning???????/

The tornado that hit my area the end of April was about 5 miles from my house. That was the night we evacuated to the church when the watch was severe.

Today was a warm day, the ladies at my church had an art booth at the Art in the Park in Lenoir. We were displaying the art of quilting, as well as selling raffle tickets for a hand quilted queen/king white quilt that was made to help restock the kitchen in the fellowship hall. I ended up with a little bit of a sunburn (as usual).

    Hi Ladies,

I came home from my cruise on Sunday to 87 degrees and sunny.  We sat out on the deck for dinner and enjoyed the sunset.  80 yesterday but now we're expecting more rain and temps in the 50s and 60s.  Will warm up again on Sunday.

Hope no one has been caught near any more tornados.  My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Joplin Mo.  How terrible!

I have 2 sets of  friends with multiple children @ Ozark Christian College-every single one of those kids left Joplin on Saturday & are safe with their folks.  Amazing!

It has been mild here, in the 80s this week.  Last night we recieved a touch of rain.  Probably just enough to make the day humid.  It's all okay, we are going to be indoors today.

Hot and humid.  In the 90's everyday and no rain.  Took my baby grandson swimming today in the pool.  He loved it.  I'm going to Phoenix on June 6th and looks like it will be much hotter there.

The weather was windy and dreary today.  DH is sick and stayed in, and I stayed in quilting most of the time other than a couple trips outside to check on the fish and the garden.  DH's health will dictate what I do tomorrow.

The sun is peeking out around the clouds, which are supposed to clear out today.  It was 65 when I got up a couple hours ago, humid from the thunderstorm last night.  There's supposed to be a breeze today, when it comes up I'm going to go work in the garden!  Yeah!  Finally!

    Hello from Westcentral Wisconsin!

Last Thursday night it got down to 32 degrees. Yesterday it was 85 and very humid!  Today we have 40 mile per hour winds and the sun is shining!!  Temp.....mmm...around 75 degrees.

If you like variety, come to Wisconsin.  If you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will change!

It was nice and mild here today, but about 6 the winds started kicking up.  Have I mentioned I dislike wind?

DS is in Okinawa where a typhoon hit on Saturday.  He said there was lot's of clean up to help out with.  They were not allowed to leave base, even for church Sunday.

The wind blew in dark clouds over night, but the weather guessers say 0% chance of rain.  It sure is gloomy.  Really doesn't matter for me at work as I have no window in my office.  I can look out through the lobby and see outside a little.

mid 60's, breezy, cloudy, wiht the entire state under a "possible severe thunderstorm" advisory for this afternoon in particular.  Got a bit more than a quarter of the garden weeded the other day, sweating like a stuck pig the entire time, then got muscle cramps, the shakes, nausea, even threw up.  First day of working outside and I give myself heat exhaustion.  Took a couple hous of napping and drinking salted iced tea to straighten out.  So much for drinking a liter of water before going outside to work!

What happened to Spring? Normally we have 1 day in May over 90, this past May we had 5 days over 90. Today was in the middle 90's.

When I was in the high school marching band, the band 'moms' made homemade gator-aid by the gallon - green koolaid made with sugar and added salt to replenish the salts we were sweating out.  During any practices, when we had a break, we were handed a glass and told to drink it down. when you drank it fast it wasn't too bad. We competed in Florida at a national band competition and didn't have a single person pass out from dehydration during the parade and other bands had several people passing out all along the parade route.

It is 80s  here today and humid.  but growing more pleasant as evening arrives.  cooler.

Sounds like you ladies are drinking a version of gatorade.  I agree with Shelia, it is so hot here in the 90's everyday.  I'm going to Phoenix on Monday and the high there will be 101.

NM, Tuesday I was nauseous all day long, but I was at work in air conditioning.  Tonight my DH is sick and has been all day.  Not sure what is going on.  Just too hot to be outside.

    Mary,

90's is way too hot for me. 101 sounds like a nightmare!! I hope you and your husband are feeling better soon.  Stay inside in the air conditioning.  Sending "cooool" thoughts your way!

Mary, what we drank in the high school marching band was homemade gatorade. I still don't like the green gatorade.

I looked at the outside temp this afternoon and my gauge said 95 degrees. Right now it is 73 outside. I will open my bedroom window again tonight to let the fresh air in since my window unit is in the living room.

We may reach a high of 78 today with showers tonight. The weather this year is so odd.  We should be in the 90s on a daily basis by now.

Well a storm blew in last night and by 11:00 the wind was howling and the rain coming down.  Only got about 4/10" but that is a huge amount for one storm for us, let alone a June storm.
