I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

Well I'm still here. There have always been end of the world scares but no internet. Sometimes I wonder if it's a good thing then I think of you all, of course it is. But I really don't know if this is the first Rapture scare since it has not been around for very long and a lot of Christians don't believe in it.
My grandson was talking about eating spaghetti and eyeballs (meatballs) yesterday, then he said something about eating toes so I hold him you can eat pigs feet and thought of Medigal Then my DH said what about tongue, which we have eaten and I said you know you can eat a cow's tail. Hee, hee, hee, two old people grossing out a 4 year old with food talk. Isn't it usually the other way around?
I was afraid I'd scar him for life if I started talking about eating brains or beef hearts. His mom has not exposed him to a lot of the things she ate when she was little, but that's okay, I never made her eat brains as my parents made me!
-
They say you are what you eat, which would explain a lot in my case. Don't think I could do some of our more exotic discussion topics. I can gross out my grand kids talking about vegetables. They think food must come from a box or a store with a drive in window.
What are the zombie symptoms? I think I may have some of them. -
This has been making the rounds on the 'net. There's not much evidence that it's real -- it could be a photoshop gimmick; but one website alleged that this billboard did appear in a town in North Carolina on May 22:

P.S.: kadeeb, what did you think of the tornado program on Discovery Channel last night? I was disappointed. It seemed like just another hodge-podge of poorly-edited amateur videos of funnel clouds. Maybe I felt that way because we've seen much more shocking and heart-wrenching storm coverage on our local news channels in the past 3 weeks. We drove through Tuscaloosa on our way west 2 weeks ago, and across the paths of 5 tornadoes on our way back (on U.S. 78 and U.S. 280) last week. Day before yesterday, we drove through Ohatchee on our way to Guntersville.
And now there's Joplin, MO... <sigh>
-
My heart goes out to all the people affected by the tornados. Prayers for all of them.
Kadeeb, my zombie symptoms included looking at my DH and thinking 'food' and also a strong craving for brains.
-
Barbara, IMHO a lot of people could use some more brains!

This is what my Ray got me for my b/d. They are Mucha signed prints, individually framed. Art Nouveau.
-
Oooh! Love art noveau! I have several Maxfield Parrish prints! Nice!
-
Blue .. love your prints .. I know they will look fabulous in your home!
love ya,
Bren
-
Saw this and couldn't resist!
-
Linda,
Where did you find this. I want to copy it and can't from here. It is priceless!!!!
-
Cheryl - I sent you a p.m.
-
Linda, LMAO! Good for you, Cindy! Enjoy!
-
Thank you Cindy. I'm a pre-raphaelite fan myself, Waterhouse, etc. Had never heard of Mucha, but fell in love with those 4 ladies. Ray is a keeper. He has been there for me through thick and thin!
Enjoy your new foobs and percocetland is the perfect place to be.
Linda LMAO!
-
Mmmm... percocetland. What a great place to be after sugery. Take good care of yourself and your new foobs, Cindy.
Blue-Gorgeous art!
-
Missing Athena and Medipal.
-
Missing Athena and Medipal too!
Hugs to all,
Bren
PS .. Yikes .. tornado warnings issued to the county to the west of me .. storm is heading east. I hate this weather .. I get so scared.
-
Holding your hand Bren!
-
Me too sweetie. The weather this year is nuts.
-
I'm such a big baby ... I wish Tim was home. He left for TX this a.m. What worries me the most is I can't get my dogs down into the basement. I have an outdoor entrance to the basement and those silly dogs won't follow me down there. I can't blame them .. I hate it down there. Maggie (my border collie) would follow me down there, but the other two blockheads won't! arghh.
hugs,
Bren
-
Blue: Your home must be a museum! I love ALL the art but this last one on the horse is my favorite! Your are so fortunate to have a DP who can afford to fill your home with such beauty. Thanks for sharing!
-
Medigal - hugs gal pal. Missed you.
-
Bren, you are SO NOT A BABY! I'll be tuning in to CNN to track the storms and am keeping fingers crossed that it will pass you by. As for getting the pups into the basement -- if you have some fresh meat, would they chase it into the basement if you threw it down the stairs? I can understand their (and your) reluctance, but we know it's the safest place.
Keeping you as close and as safe as we can, sweetie!
Multihugs, Linda
-
Thanks Linda .. I'm so worn out from being so stressed. It's pretty quiet out now .. so I'm just going to stay up until the tornado warning expires!
love to all,
Bren
-
Bren, are you okay now? This terrible weather has everyone on edge. Maybe once your storms calm down and daylight comes, you can start "training" your other dogs to follow you into the basement. Could you bribe them by giving them treats if they come down the steps?

-
Otter, I too was disappointed. Your assessment was on the money. This weather is nuts. I've been in the Huntsville area and Culman looks like a war zone. Came through Guntersville and the state park. OMG that place looks like another planet.
Bren, hope you can avoid any windy events. -
Prayers going up for all the folks in OK City, AK and KS. What a nightmanre.
-
Have to say - GO CANUCKS and GO LIGHTNING!
When the Bolts beat the Bruins, the Canucks better watch out.
-
I hope everyone is safe.
Remember the CDC Zombie preparedness blog? I ran across an interesting piece on the Wall Street Journal health blog (as an aside my 37 year old daughter replied that she didn't think she needed a zombie preparedness kit but that she thought she would put together the regular kit which would also work in the event of a zombie apocalypse - so the funny blog post worked better than previous Mom nagging has):
"...Now the CDC is following up Khan’s message with a video contest. The agency is asking people to create 60-second videos showing how they’re preparing for any emergency(“hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, zombies…”) by June 3. Winners will be chosen by the “CDC Zombie Task Force.”
Best of all for Khan, who admits to posting the blog without approval from government higher-ups: his real message seems to be getting through.“People who read the blog actually are going out to get an emergency kit and make an emergency plan,” an excited Khan tells the Health Blog, citing informal data and reader posts. “This has been off the charts. Who would ever think a server would crash because people were trying to get public health information?” (As we noted, the page with the blog post crashed midweek because it got so many hits.)...""
-
The page with the blog post crashed? Hmmm...maybe zombies have more power (and brains-no we knew they had brains-at least for lunch) than we thought.
Edited for clarity
-
I don't think the zombies want us to be ready for them.
