    Karen,

You are doing so good on the weight loss!!! I know they say no food after 7 and yet here I am having not eaten dinner yet!  Maybe that is part of my problem!  Note to self, must get better about eating earlier!  SO glad to hear that what we applied to quitting smoking is helping here too!

I am an animal lover so totally GET your Godmother!... I don't have too much experience with cats but wow... a 22 lb cat must be a sight to see and, if I'm not mistaken, could be considered to be an honorary dog!  I have only ever had dogs and I know how your Godmother felt, in that, my dogs were truly like my children, in that i had to make sure they were ok before I could turn in!. My beautiful fur-baby passed away last summer and it was so very hard.  We are to the point now where we are entertaining the thought of perhaps getting another pet.  Not sure that we are quite there yet.

If it's not too personal of a question.. who took in Bubbies and Cowboy?

Glad to hear that you enjoyed a really great reunion! That had to be really wonderful!  Try to stay busy as best you can on the weekends!

As much as I loved my dear fur-babies, it was only a fraction of the love they gave to me!

I know that your Sundays are so hard and I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

My godmother's son moved back home 3 yrs.ago and was her caregiver for 1 and 1/2 yrs., and did a wonderful job.  Cowboy and Bubbies live there with Sam. my godmother left the house to Sam and his brother.  He is the type who can't watch Animal Cops on the Animal Channel,  Bubbies became his pet when his former owners moved away.  Sam was already feeding him and brought him back to Conneautville.  My next story will be about Cowboy.  Seaside - thanks for listening.  I know how hard it is to lose a pet, when you are ready you will have another pet to share your life with.  By the way Cowboy is terrified of Bubbies, I have seen him walk a big circle to get around Bubbies, as far as I know he has never hurt Cowboy.

Seaside, I love that "honorary dog", I'll have to share that with Sam, he'll get a kick out of it.

Hi Birdies, here's some encouragement to get out there and get some exercise:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/17/magazine/mag-17exercise-t.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1

NM - hope you're feeling better and able to get up & out, maybe take that dog for a walk?

Ainm - you've done so well, 2 steps forward and 1 step back, this is just a temporary step back.  And of course there's all that the pre-surgery stress.

This is a place to feel accepted and safe and loved and motivated to do better.  {{hugs}} to all

I'm trying to do well and be well.  Taking yoga class twice a week.  Walking every day.  Eating (mostly) healthy.  Drinking lots of water.    Bought an aromatherapy lamp ring (it sits on the light bulb and releases scent as it warms) and tangerine essential oil for cheerfulness and energy at work.  May try something soothing for home...

Hi ELABers!  I have been sick all week, getting lots of fluids but not alot of food.  The good news is I have lost 4 pounds, bad news is no exercise.  I have an appointment with my doc tomorrow, hopefully i will be on the road to recovery soon...

Sorry to hear so many of you aren't feeling well.  I had that same "bug" a few weeks ago and I stayed out of work in bed for 2 days and ran a high temp.  It took me over a week to kick it.  It was tough!!! I hope all of you feel better soon.  The diet will wait and you can get back on the wagon when you feel better.  Don't beat yourselves up.

Wondering how I will do since the doctor changed my med from Tamoxifen to Arimidex.  Any of you taking Arimidex?  Has it affected your weight loss ability???

o2bhealthy - Hope you are on the road to recovery now.

mimi1964 - I have been on Arimidex for about nine months now. I do find it harder to lose any weight but not sure if I can blame it entirely on that. I was on Tamoxifen for 11 months before I started with Arimidex and I have to say I was able to lose weight while on Tamoxifen. I think my age (53 has a lot to do with it). I just try not to get too discouraged.

Hope all of you have a good evening.

It sounds like True Confessions here, so----Ok, so after a HORRIBLE week at working VERY long hours, I got home from church tonight and decided to stop by the store and get some Hostess Snowballs.......hopefully my diet and water this week will help counter-act them.  Morning weigh in will tell.

Oh, are we confessing?  An entire bag of m&m's.  Another one started.  Sigh.  Very, very stressed.  Two more days and then I get a break from one stressor.

I laughed about the snowballs - my partner thought someone was using them as boobs.

First hope all are feeling better.

Those with set backs, just don't let it get you off track and off the wagon completely. WE HAVE TO HANG IN THERE!!

    Checking in for the hummingbirds:

    Friday: 3 pts

Exercise: 8.5 pts (way high for me)

Weight: same as last week. 1 pt

    Water: 7 pts

Extra: I want to claim one point. It is our Passover Holiday here. I have not eaten any matzos.

I had 18 people at my house for Passover meal, and I did not eat any dessert (pannacota and flourless chocolate cake - more like a chocolate bar...)

These Jewish holidays revolve around food and I have maintained my weight. So 1 extra for me. OK?

Total this week: 20.5 pts (I think my highest till now)

Good for you, Don23!  I have got to buckly down.  I finally got a job and start on Monday.  I will be away from the kitchen and fridge more now.  I need to figure out where I could walk safely at lunchtime.  It is in a more industrial place.  That doesn't bother me as much as the strip place a couple blocks away.  One real ice thing is that it is within 5 blocks of my cardiologist, I could actually walk to my appointments faster than I could drive to them before!

That's a big step to make an appt.  I am so tired of going to the dr, it makes it tough to pick up that phone, but that is much better than suffering longer.  Hope you feel better soon, NM.

thanks, Meece,  What's going through my gut is "lung mets"  "brain mets" "sinus mets" My head is whispering "just a virus, probably"  It's the 'probably' that gets to me after a while.  Will I ever get over this hypochondriac stage?????

I asked my dr. if I would ever get over thinking the worst, and she said I would.  She's not my onc, so I don't know if she really knows.

It was a bad case of bronchitis that finally made me go to the dr, and show her my original lump, I would have waited a bit longer, but my SIL was dying of complications from bronchitis at the time, so I didn't put it off.  I was more afraid of the lung thing than the lump.

Don't forget my challenge for this past week.  If you exercised for four days in a row for at least 30 minutes then you'll go in a drawing and I'll pick a winner and send them a little prize in the mail (just a little prize).  Let me know if you qualify to be in the drawing!

    Checking in for Rockin' Robins/Cranes

Friday check in - 3 pts

    Weight down (133 - yeah) - 2 pts

    water - 7 pts

    Exercise - 8 pts

extra credit - 1 pt (really cut down on food intake this week and tried to increase the exercise)

    Total - 21 points

It's amazing to see on the chart that the more points I have the better the weight!

Ditto that - hope everyone's health starts to improve.

    Roadrunner checking in:

    Friday = 3 pts

    Water = 5 pts

Exercise = 18 pts (Yay for better weather)

Weight = 0 pts (up 0.4 from last week)

Can't claim extra because eating habits still bad - my confession is a whole bag of strawberry licorice twists over 2 days!)  But I did list it on loseit.com (put me over the top both days).

Total = 26 pts - my most in a very long time.
