Baby it's cold outside

Congratulations on the higher paying job NM. I can't wait to hear about your cruise Jo. I love to travel vicariously through other and of course love it when I get to go someplace.
19 degrees this morning with a wind chill in the single digits. Where is spring. I'm really not happy. I know we get snow in april and sometime may but usually it isn't this cold, we usually make it above freezing at this time of year. I don't know when we're supposed to get above freezing and I know I'll be depressed if I look at the forecast.
-
suswez, I'm right there with you, could stand some decent weather. It is snowing again, was 12 degrees last night!1 I am in Western New York, sounds like our weather follows the same pattern, lucky us.
-
Hello everyone. I'm back home after going to Louisiana for the week to my SIL's funeral. The weather was exquisitley beautiful the whole tie and the azaleas were blooming so beautifully. All the cars were coated in yellow pollen. Temp is 70 tonight. Mys sister came down from Syracuse. She shoveled her car out to get to the airport and will have to shovel again tonight to get her car back in her drive way. I hate all cancer and what it does to people.
-
mbticsw01--please accept my condolences on the loss of your SIL. Cancer sucks.
Suwes--I haven't got the job yet, I've got a second interview on Friday. But no matter what job I end up taking I'm going to be making a lot more than I do teaching. I am so looking forward to not having to scrape for every penny every month!

INSTALLING SPRING...
████████░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░
33% DONE. Install delayed....please wait.
Installation failed. Please try again. That sooooo sums up how it seems here in Phila, PA!!! We had a 75 degree day last Friday. I saw out front on my porch all evening/night 'cause I knew it wouldn't last, but I didn't realize we'd have snow again this week, and stay in the 30/40 range. We're more than 10 degrees below normal and there's a big difference between 40 and 50!
-
P.S. to NM - good luck hon
-
haha marlegal. Saw this on your FB & thought that you had attempted to post something that hadn't completed. I didn't look at that closely & now I see it here, it makes total sense! Install of spring has definitely failed as far as weather goes, but we have forsythia, daffys, croci, hyacinths, and violets blooming outside my house!
-
Love the install of spring, I think Michigan is at 10% though dang it. yesterday we made it up to 30 degrees (20 below normal) and today we're at 33 degrees! It is sunny and that helps so much.
Mary - So sorry about your SIL. Cancer does suck! I absolutely hate it. May your SIL rest in peace.
Good luck NM, I'll be thinking of you on Friday. Really, they wonder why there aren't enough nursing instructors to teach the new nurses which results in long waits to get into nursing school. I make more money than a lot of the nursing instructors at our university (MSU) - I'm glad I make that much but what a crime that they aren't making more.
To our Deadliest Catch (DC) ladies on this thread - I just saw an ad - I think the new season begins on April 12th.
-
I was up the mountain in Blowing Rock NC this weekend for women's retreat and this morning we woke up to freezing fog on the trees. weather channel is calling for snow showers tonight through tomorrow morning!! where is spring at?

Sheila, we had a bright sunny day, but it was 25 degrees - brrr - I too am waiting for spring. Tomorrow high of 41, so we are going in the right direction. Karen

It has gotten hot already--high was 87 today. I have my pool cleaned out and heated up to 80 degrees so the grands can swim anytime they want. It is supposed to rain most of this week and we really need it. Sending warm thoughts to all my northern sisters.
-
Last Monday and Tuesday we had temps in the upper 70's to low 80's. today we had high temps in the 50's. Last week when it was warm, I turned my heat down to 65 but today turned it back up to 75 just to keep myself warm. My heating system is a kerosene fueled monitor heater in the living room and the rooms away from the heater are cooler so I keep it turned up higher than most people would run their forced-air systems. Tonight I am going to put the big quilt back on the bed. This week they are calling for temps to stay in the 60's and rain 4 of the next 5 days.

It has poured rain today---YEAH. It is supposed to rain until Thursday and we really need it. The sound of thunder was really cool this evening. 66 degrees and still raining
-
I can feel the warmth Sheila and Mary! Snow is all gone at our house. I drove 3 hours north today (I'm in Gaylord for a couple of nights for work) and there is a good 5-6 inches of snow still on the ground. I told those women (who contract with Michigan State and my department) that they should have their meetings in April and October but OH NO! I knew there would be freakin' snow on the ground. Wednesday I have the pleasure of traveling to Marquette for two days which is another 3-4 hours north. I love my job
Really I do and am dang thankful for it!
Supposed to drop down to 6 or 7 degrees tonight and up to 34 degrees tomorrow here in Gaylord, Michigan.
-
Oh Suzette, I just cannot imagine how cold that is. Spring is on the way. Enjoy your trips. I may be traveling again in May. DH goes to Hampton, VA at the end of this week for a one day trip. I'm hoping to hold my sweet GS soon.
"
-
Meece yours is on the way soon. They are such a joy.
-
Suzette, my hubby was north of Monroe MI Monday and he drove there kicking and screaming all the way 'I don't want to go where there is a chance of any snow!'. He is now heading back to SC. We didn't get snow here but the upper elevations (Boone and Blowing Rock - 20 miles North) did get some measurable snow. This morning we have 36 outside and a frost advisory temps expected to get to 60. They had predicted rain every day this week except Wed, well they changed it to no rain today and rain the rest of the week and highs not getting out of the 50's.

Sheila, If my family (and I mean the entire family, including all extended family) didn't live here and if it weren't so beautiful here in the summer, I'd be living in the south ASAP!
Beautiful picture Mary, he's gorgeous!
-
Oh, Mary, that picture is priceless! I have about 12 and a half weeks left. DS has been working out of state and DIL is getting cranky, bet DS is happy though.
-
Meece, my son's fiance was quite crabby for the last several months. She is stick thin and was so very uncomfortable as the baby got bigger and bigger. My poor DS was doing everything, cooking, cleaning and taking care of the two other children.
I got my results from my PET scan today and I am cancer free. What an incredibly good feeling and relief. It is 75 degrees tonight and supposed to rain again tonight and tomorrow. We are grateful for any rain fall.
-
Congratulations, Mary.
-
Congrats on a good report Mary, doing the Happy Dance for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yea Mary on being cancer Free!!!
-
let me add my congrats on the good report. we love to hear good news.
My hubby wasn't happy yesterday, he was once again sent North to Wisconsin last night, and is now headed back south to Illinois then to Memphis Tennessesee. We had a dreary day with scattered showers today and more rain called for over the next two days.

SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!!! Doors open, airing out the house, smelling the violets wafting in the air, wearin' pedal pushers & quite thankful to have an all clear from my bi-lat mammo last week in today's mail! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks everyone, I am so relieved, at least for the year. Joni, congrats on your good news. It is thundering outside with rain. Shelia, praying for your DH to have a safe trip. It is supposed to stop with the rain by the weekend. I hope so, I want to see my grandbabies.
-
Way to go, Eph! You must have studied hard to pass the test!
We are due to have temps in the mid 80s today. I have been airing out the house the past few days. It feels so good!
I took the screens off my windows in the fall and put them away. I need to clean them up, wash the windows, and put the screens back on.
-
Beautiful photo Mary you grandmas are so lucky.
Here in Toronto it is actually snowing again. This explains why DH and I are trying book a last minute trip to a warm sunny beach.
-
We had wild weather today. Tornado watches and warnings all day long. It has rained all day long. We found lots and lots of dead branches down in our yard. We are blessed we did not lose electricity and no damage. It is 68 degrees and still have a light rain.
-
Wow, Nancy, where are you at?
