Yay!! Thanks Deanna for posting to the moderators! I was missing out thread!
Go Slinky! (Love the name). It is maddening, but many of us had a rather healthy lifestyle and still got dx'd with BC. I believe that we've poisioned the world with chemicals and toxins and even changed the composition of our foods. We're bombarded. Within our lifetimes, prior, I believe 1 in 25 women got breast cancer. Now it's like 1 in 7 or 8. Genetics don't change in 50 years, the environment does!! Anyway. OFF SOAP BOX!! Exercise is good! You be the work out girl!
Today was 30 minutes of weights at the gym. tomorrow, we're going to the theater in the evening to see "Blue Man Group", so if I don't get the ellipitcal in tomorrow, then hopefully biking Sat and Sun!! I think it's supposed to be another nice weekend! Also have some gardening to do!
-
Love the blue man group.
Treadmill again for me today. Had 2 people this week ask if I was losing weight. YES!
-
Wonderful day here yesterday, out and about for a walk and fresh air....ahhhhh....just the sounds of children laugjing and motorcycles vroom in the distance helps...spring is on the WAAAYYYYYY!!!! Everyone enjoy their weekend!

Blue Man Group was great, If you ever go, make sure you're on the ground floor and not balcony!
today was bike riding!! 75 degress here, sunny, no wind, no humidity!! The perfect day! Tomorrow, biking and gardening I think!!!
Enjoy the wonderful weekend, no matter the weather!
-
Sunday! Weights at the gym and 45 on the elliptical! HAPPY WEEKEND!!!
-
UGH! We've been in the midst of an awful Winter storm for over a week now. C-C-C-Cold and windy, rainy, its been terrible!! YUK and guess what the week's forecast...more of the same! Geez, they even shut down I-80 heading to Lake Tahoe for a time, the conditions were just too dangerous.
My DD ended up having her 3rd eye surgery Thursday, no time to plan! She called me 5 min before I left work last Wed and said there had been a cancellation so we took it! I was baby Savannah's caregiver and DD's caregiver, I was soooo tired that day! And all that lifting the car seat and stroller up and down and in and out of car, really wreaked havoc with my body and not in a good way.
Baby is 2 months old now, can't even believe it! I've enjoyed my time with her and am so blessed to have her nearby. I danced with her yesterday all around her living room and did some leg exercises with her (my legs haha), but my shoulders ache. I did take their dogs for a walk before coming home yesterday, brisk 30 min in the C-C-C-cold weather in between rain storms.
Off to the mall in 15 minutes for my lunch hour mall walk. Can't wait for nice weather!
kmmd, great on the people noticing your weight loss comment! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Kari, hope DD's eye is getting better! It sounds like you are really enjoying your grandbaby!
It got cccold here this morning, but warmed up by the afternoon. I had the space heater on in my office this morning!!
30 minutes of weights today for me! Tomorrow elliptical...
-
HAPPY SPRING, EVERYONE!
Harley

kari, 2 months old already doesn't seem possible.
Ha! Managed to get exercising in every day on vacation except the last travel day. Of course, got a lot of walking in getting across airports. One day I almost didn't and the people we were staying with said, no, we'll wait for you, we're not going to be the ones to mess up such a good streak and how well you are doing. Feels good to have things starting to pay off and not run when someone brings out a camera
-
kmmd,
YAY!, for you, exercising EVERY DAY!!! I wish I could keep a regular schedule. Yesterday, I was just TOO busy to get any exercise in. Can U believe it? I never thought I would say that I was TOO BUSY! me... the Queen of Boring!
Well, I am gonna try to get a run in today, before super cleaning the house, before a friend from bc.org comes over. She's in town, and I can't wait to finally meet her! I wish MORE of my breast friends would come to the Myrtle Beach area, so I could meet them!
Have a great day, all! It's gonna be a GREAT DAY!! Beautiful, sunny, and, my personal favorite: WARM!!!!

Today is 45 minutes on the elliptical, I am coming here to make myself do it!!!
-
Keep going Spring. My legs are shaking, great work out today
-
I have been sooo busy this weekend and first of the week. On Sunday I went over to my adopted family and we searched the sound for shells. And then we had a bonfire and cooked on it. I got home late. Monday my friend was having a melt down and we went out to eat. She talked I ate. She felt better afterwards. tonight she decided I needed a new cell phone and she gave me one without directions. I almost threw it out but went back to the store and got a crash course on it. I hate technology somethimes. I have no patience for it. No exercise for a few days but off on Wednesday and will exercise and yoga! Going to visit my DS on Friday and my future DIL and granddaughters. Enjoying the warm weather we are having. turning cold this weekend again. Everyone have a great week.
-
Nice Joy!
I did the elliptical - 45 minutes, but BOY did I NOT feel like it. But I did it anyway!! Just did not enjoy it very much tonight! Felt very tired. Glad it's behind me!
-
WOW! You GO, Spring!!!
-
Ok, I'm soooo SICK of rain!! That song "it never rains in california" is completely WRONG! LOL seriously, i am counting the days until Sunday, the first day in over 2 solid weeks of cold winter storms. First day in a long time I didn't go out of the office at lunch time today, just too treacherous out there today. Going to see Grandbaby girl after work and hang out with DD. Her eye still has an air bubble and stitches and is healing nicely though, although it looks pretty scary. She is bummed though that her vision is still not lined up, she was hoping the surgery would fix that, she had so many things done to her eye but at least she has a new lens!!
You all make me smile when I read your posts, I just love you gals! xoxo
-
So I did the weights last night and I am supposed to do the elliptical tonight, but again so pooped feeling! I may get on and see if I can go for 10 minutes. The 10 minute rule!
Vacation next week. I think I must need it!
Kari, kisses to your grandbaby!! Does DD need to keep her "head down" with the bubble again?? I hope not....
-
I was thinking that same thing, I remember the bubble and how awful that was. Oh, Kari hope DD is feeling better soon
-
Last night I tried the 10 min rule on the elliptical and did 25 minutes. Not my usual 45. I am thinking this is at least better than nothing!!!
Weights today amongst finishing up at work and packing... leaving tomorrow. Hopefully next week will be good weather for cycling...
-
absolutely better than nothing Springtime! 25 mins is nothing to snicker at on that machine!! Have a safe trip...I see you on that bike!! Have fun!
-
No exercise yesterday! UGH! Just kisses to grandbaby!! DD had to be face down for 5 days, so she's past that, and had a good report at dr. today! Her and baby picked me up for lunch today, going over her house after work again, we are both going to do yoga with baby! Our DH's are both out of town.
I got up and did 20 min on treadmill this a.m. and some planks/tummy work. Spring, sometimes our bodies just need a breather I think! Glad you get a break next week!
kmmd, still doing yoga by firelight?
-
Hi, all ~ Life has been totally nutty recently, so I've been reading but have had little time to post. Still no word on whether DH's car will be fixed or totalled, so, as you might imagine, he hasn't been a happy camper. DS dealing with a painful kidney stone again, although it's one that was there before, and we're hoping that the changes he's made to his diet are preventing any new ones. Lots of company coming and going, including this weekend and next week. I've also been house/pet sitting for friends for 3 weeks, which has been time consuming. I've managed to get in about 45 mins of walking most mornings, until this week when I spent a day in the ER with DS, day of doctor appts. w/him and yesterday with a cousin who is visiting from FL. Not getting in my walks sure adds to my stress level! Hoping to find another health club when life calms down a bit. I desparately need upper arm work before it gets any warmer!
Have a great weekend, everyone! Deanna
-
Deanna, I was just thinking of you the other day! Nice to hear from you, sounds like lots going on and you are still walking! good for you.
We are at the beach now and we walked about 30 minutes on the beach today. I am so looking forward to the week off!!! We brought our bikes!
Kari, how did your DD manage the baby having to be face down with the bubble for 5 days?? Good grief!!! (PS I am sure the grandbab kisses burn calories galore!!!)
-
Kari, I am still doing yoga by firelight. I'll almost be sorry to see warm weather come I've enjoyed it so much
-
KMMD, It's freezng here! Your yoga by firelight is safe for a while!
So today I found weight machines (not as good as my home gym) but I did a great routine, then we walked for an hour, and then biked for 30 minutes! And it was cold here too, but we didn't let it stop us! I biked in my winter coat, ear warmers, hood and gloves!
I once heard, "A rainy day of vacation is better than a sunny day at work" and we put that to the test today!
Hope all are doing well!
-
Spring, the week DD had her eye surgery was the 1st week her DH went back to work. He surprised us the night of her surgery, he came home! and stayed with her the whole time!! I was exhausted that evening so it all worked out! And yes I must be burning a zillion calories kissing that scrumptious little one. I've been exercising too! YAY!
Deanna, I didn't know what happened to your DH!!!! Car accident? and so sorry about your DS kidney stone issue again. Poor guy. Hope you find some Deanna time amidst the appts and visitors.
We finally have spring here!! About time the sun showed up...
-
I've been so busy with tons of family in town last week & this week, and only an occasional moment to check here, emails, etc. I've managed to walk about an hour each morning with my sister; then today we went to the Kraft-Nabisco LPGA tournament in Rancho Mirage and walked the course for a good 4 hours.
Kari, glad that little one is giving you so much joy. And, yes, DH got rear ended by a young girl who was probably texting. It happened 3/8, and we're still not sure if his car will be fixed or totalled, which kind of makes us sick to think about. Glad your DD is doing well after her surgery.
Hi to Joy, kmmd, Spring and everyone else not on this page. Enjoy the rest of your vaca, Spring! Hope the skies clear for you tomorrow! Deanna
-
It was raining like crazy here today but we still walked 45 minutes (and got soaked!) and then shopped liesurely, and then cycled before dinner for almost an hour. No rain that time! Tomorrow is supposed to be a slightly less rainy day. We are powering throught the rain anyway!!!
Great for you Deanna, walking even when busy and with family! Kari, smiling thinking of the zillion kisses and calories!!
-
Deanna, great you got to enjoy the LPGA tourney! Sorry to hear about your DH's accident...Keep us posted!!
