I want to say something but I don't know what...us and them?  No.  Umm, I suppose like anyplace else, there will be those that are there for no purpose other than to stir the pot.  And in the cyber world, one can do so with complete anonomity.  Oh, and I remember marie's post being totally hijacked and put up on another site as someone elses post - word for word.  Where there exists a discussion board, there will be someone who seeks to abuse it, hack it, attack it and otherwise have a sinister plot to somehow put everyone at odds.  We don't know who is for real sometimes - the moderators are pretty good at spotting many of the offenders but they get better and better and then with multiple accounts - it makes it appear to be a 'group' of them when, in fact, it is only one person with some sort of an axe to grind. 

We are easy prey.  Sadly, internet predators are very good at what they do. 

With that said, (and a congrats to Athena), I am off and will leave this thread to its intended purpose - funding BCO.

Glad you have good news, Athena.  However, how do you cope with Zometa?  I tried one IV severeral years ago and it caused me so much pain, I ended up back on the Onc's table the same day!  I am just sticking with Vit D3 and a calcium tab once or twice a week when I can take it due to certain "problems" the calcium causes.  So far except for some Osteopena in one of my hips, he says I am doing fine bone wise after 7 years on Arimidex.  Glad you can endure the Zometa.

Grea news Athena. I have taken Zometa for about 4 yrs now. When I had my kyphoplasty a couple years ago, the bone doc told me that there were no signs of cancer inside the vertebrae and he said that it was because Aromasin and Zometa are working. He said they are a wonderous combo for many people. Hugs, Mazy

riley702:  Did Melissa ever reply to your question about being required or optional etc.?  If it's optional she is just giving certain deleters more fuel, imo.  I noticed she has not replied to my question on the other thread yet.

WhiteRabbit, I agree.  I don't think that the problem that we needed to have solved has been solved by these changes.  And I worry that the changes will cause spam to increase again.  I'm disappointed.  I hope that there is more to come.   

I just deleted a spam post -- another member had reported it before me and the post said "edited by [this other member's name, not the spammer's name]"

My report made the spam go poof -- now it says "deleted by the community" and "edited by AnnNYC" -- so there does seem to be naming of the reporter, but only one at a time, and thus only the last reporter.

Also, there are now 2 buttons to report a post, either "report as spam" or "report as rule violation" (and rule violations are concisely defined as "threatening, hateful or abusive language").  This is the only way to report -- hit "report as spam" or "report as rule violation."

Read the first and last page of this thread (all I have time for today) and think targeted ads could work nicely.  Not just for products like hats, wigs and prosthetics, but also inspirational/informational reading material, nutritional products as well as cosmetic products.  So many of us new to our diagnosis are looking for the right products that may be, perhaps, organic in nature, or inspiring to our health.

When the time permits I will read the other posts.
