My Fellow Deletees and The Cyberbullied Sisters

Shokk .. if I believed what you're saying to be true, I would 'buck up.' But I sincerely don't think that's the case at issue. I don't believe the woman/group you're talking about is behind the deletions. There is no reason to think that. What happened on the Circle thread was years ago. Everyone has moved on.

Madelyn you are not listening to me..........this is so not about blue.......this is about all of us......shokk
-
Bren yes it is...........shokk
-
I understand that you guys are questioning me......I have been having some discussions behind the scene......and Medi this has nothing to do with the other site......you guys have got to get past what has happened in the last couple of months...........shokk
-
shokk: Who has that much power that they can destroy two entire forums or would want to? Unless you explain yourself, I think you could be opening a can of worms you can't control. Why can't we just let things be and just make a truce between the two groups not to interfere with each other. If this person is a member of both groups, we should be told but the insinuations do not help.
-
Shokk - I don't know whether you are correct, as those problems preceded the time I joined this board. . I cannot prove that lizard person is a member of your other site, but the very first person who came last night and posted a copy of a post made on that site, certainly is. What was the purpose of that? Why did she feel a need to post that if not to stir up trouble? Seems to me you need to do some convincing over there before you start on us.
-
Medigal .. the person Shokk is referring to is not a member of any other site. She's a member of BCO only.
Bren
-
I'm sure it was not her idea to post that. I think she was just following orders.
-
Bren do you happen to still have that old yahoo site by chance?.....if you do can you make it private by password only???????
and Bren this is a message to you.......I am sorry about the way I treated you at facebook.....as you can tell I too have been hurt by all of this....we do need to talk away from all this other stuff....but we really could use your help......please think about.......and I don't want to lose our friendship at cc or any other place......shokk
-
shokk - if you would like to show good will, a good place to start would be to remove your offensive tagline.
-
Alpal and everyone..........we are going to have to go back and work all this out between each other later..........please believe me.......that includes my side as well as you ladies to the left of us.....
I personally am really tired of the hacking and deleting chatter........we need to try and focus our chemo induce brains to work together as a team........shokk
-
shokk - since you seem to be a conciliatory mood, may I make a suggestion? You might want to start with finding out who told your web site owner that the system had been hacked into and that your pmails were posted here at BCO. This info was posted by the owner on a public web help site and the Google Bot was there. She clearly stated that her members had told her this. So - someone on your site made up that info and passed it on to her. Does this mean that the person you suspect is in cahoots with people on your site?
-
Shokk .. I'll think about the YUKU site ... don't even know if I remember how to get in there.
We're cool .. by the way.
hugs,
Bren
-
shokk ... I heard what you are saying. I just don't believe you are correct. It's as simple as that.
I have my own ideas about who/what and I have seen absolutely no evidence that your old enemy is behind any of this. I think you might be engaging in wishful thinking.
But if you have some evidence the proper course of action would be referring that evidence to Melissa. Not trying to form a posse of vigilantes here. IMO
-
Alpal I am sorry but I haven't been to the other site very much in the last couple of days.........I will not speak for my comrades or tell them what to say or to think or post or anything else.....but Alpal you have to believe me this really has nothing to do with what is said in the last couple of days.....
we really need to move on and work together as a team.......is anyone getting blue reinstated?....who else was deleted yesterday......
and ladies look at my tagline........

I am serious about us all working together......I don't want to stop Canada anymore.....shokk
-
I think Melissa has done everything she can.....there is only so much she can do.......shokk
-
Guys I am really sorry but I have to get off the computer for a couple of hours......I have something I have to do.......Bren please check your facebook.........and check in with Barbara.......she has a request....shokk
-
Hey listen if you guys don't want to get involved with this that is really ok......I just want to ask a favor to everyone......as an experiment......don't anyone (right or left) hit the delete button......
no matter what is posted.........let's all just take a breath........
it might actually be easier to handle this on a smaller scale..........
ok I have to get off the computer.........I am so late......shokk
-
There is a lot Melissa can do.
I think the last 2 episodes have gotten serious enough that she is going to have to do something to track down the offenders. There are liability issues for BCO when it reaches the level it has recently.
Getting another brouhahaha started ... just pointed at somebody else ... is not going to help the situation. Again IMO
-
I have no doubt that Melissa and the tech team are trying to figure this out. They must be pulling their hair out about now!
Bren
PS .. Shokk, I agree with you about the deleting .. and I pledge not to hit that button.
-
We are taking care of things right now, working on teasing apart all the issues.
Best,
Melissa and the BCO team
-
Thanks, Mods. I won't delete. I would rather let it stand for all to see.
-
Thanks Melissa!
Bren
-
Thank-you Shokk for offering the olive branch and wanting us all to work together to make this a better place. It would be nice if we could go back to our political or whatever debates without meanness or deletions. There are people very dear to me on both sides of the debate and I love to read what they all think about stuff.
Hugs,
Elizabeth

Shokk, I think you are mistaken in attributing this whole mess to one thing (if I understand you correctly, at any rate). Proof is that Athena has been banned for posts she thought she would be banned for three days ago after she lost the edit/delete access to them. Then, the ban happened last night amidst this whole lizard back-and-forth.
And she has no idea what you are referring to regarding an old poster of the old wagons thread, and yet here she is, banned.
The point is, there are too many things going on and no one has the explanation for everything. I know I don't.
There are a number of subplots that sometimes merge and sometimes do not. Where SOME of them converge is that they are affected by the lack of moderation capabilities, the ease with which posts can be deleted that do not violate rules, etc..... Any other hostility out there, any accusations of hacking, libel or anything else are all being sucked into this no-moderation system. It is also about politics, Muslims, etc... etc... In fact, no matter what the topic or the personal vendetta or the real or perceived crime or false accusation, the thread tying everything together is that we have here a system that allows one to play hide and seek and the law of the jungle prevails.
We can't resolve --on this thread and this web site-- the fact that we disagree, or the fact than one person may have done something wrong to another or that some may have a past. Not having a Facebook account myself, nor being a visitor of any other other bc site, I only know what I read here.
So whether it is about any of the above mentioned topics, or about something related to cancer, the law of the jungle is what can make a bad situation, whichever it may be, much, much worse. That's why this thread was set up.
The trouble is that with all of these underlysing sub-plots, it is easy to get sucked into who did what to whom, and thus forget to work on our main goal HERE, which is to achieve more transparency.
-
Just saw Melissa's note. Thank you.
-
nearcatatonia...then, why can't you just say what you did without hiding behind another name?
-
Excellent question. The answer: Because my real name has been silenced.
-
So the ability to remove a post goes beyond the time limit for editing a post? I'm not seeing the reasoning for that - just seems like a bad idea IMHO.
-
But you could still say who you are. As it has been pointed out before, having several user names seems to be okay on this site.
