h&s76 ~ I agree! That DVR fee is worth every penny! Time is money!! :)  And AI sure does like those commercials, don't they!

And I know what you mean about it "spoiling" us!!  I also use it when I'm watching it "live" to "rewatch" a performance that just happened..... that way... sometimes the commercials will be over with by the time I'm done watching it a second time. :)

I catch myself listening to the radio in the car and when I miss something that was said... I don't know how many times I literally reach towards the radio like I would be able to "rewind" it! Tongue out

HAHA! I try to rewind the radio, too! I hate it when I can't have something repeated! And then they keep talking about it and I'm still wondering where the "rewind" button is so I KEEP missing what they're saying!

It's great to be able to replay something awesome or awful - we just pause it and can talk about it, or watch it over and over. I remember when Jason Castro sang, "Over The Rainbow" and I was blown away by that performance and the use of the lighting. We backed it up and watched it again.

I use it to record what few shows I like to watch, and then I watch them whenever I have the time. People used to say, "What's so different about it and a VCR?" A million things! But I gave up trying to explain, it's just once you have one, you know.

I'll probably fall to sleep during the 2 hours.  I was about burned out after 1 and half hours.   I can only take so much dragging things out.   Poor me!Cry

After my computer i love my DVR. We only pay $$11.95 a month.

Also I can program it from any computer if i forgot to do so.

There is one thing I wish they change cant program more than 7 days.

And always give extra time on Dvr when I'm taping it.

Did you notice they go overtime lots of time.

    Smile

Yes, Seyla - I have noticed they go over so often so we set ours to record it an extra 2 minutes. Probably should change that to 5 minutes, or else I'll hear, "and the winner is....."....end recording!

My son can set up recordings from his phone, so I guess we can do it from the computer, too. Ours does let you record ahead for 14 days, and that is a big help. My son set it up so it records automatically, in case we forget - like we would ever forget Idol's on!

Showtime! But I'll just wait a while so I can skip the commercials - have to run up to the drugstore anyway for some more of my drugs - tamoxifen!

The show is not finished yet, and Stefano's song made me cry.  He's really singing for his life.

Well, I sure was wrong about tonight's schedule!!

I must say, I watched the whole thing and I'm STILL confused! Not really, but it was kind of weird the way they shuttled the losers off, never to be seen again...

Wow...for the first time in AI history that I totally agree and in love with all 13 contestants.  It will definitely be tears at the end of elimination.

    Anybody miss Simon? LOL

I thought the top 10 was about right...there were a few more I though would have deserved second chances...but I will say there is a lot of variety in the big 13.

I have been a fan of idol since almost year one and I was a little sad to see Simon go but I think this panel is wonderful.  My Fav is Scotty but I would have to say I do not think he is going to win it all but I have a feeling the girls are going to vote him in  for a while

Regarding DVR...I don't know how I watched TV without it.  I rarely watch a show live anymore.  And being able to rewind is priceless!

I'm pretty pleased with the contestants that were chosen (by the time they are down to the top 10 or 12 I should have the names downSmile

For the girls, I love Pia and Thia.  The other young one, Laura or Lauren, is good, too.

I'm so glad the red-headed little guy is gone.  I thought he was pretty creepy.  Also, I really loved the voice of Robbie, but, I couldn't stand to look at him.  I know that's mean, and it's not a beauty contest, but he was hard to watch.  Good voice, though.

I think I may just have to put JLo's new song on my ipod workout mix!  Very upbeat and feels like it would be a great song to exercise to.

Oh, I totally agree about the guy who sang Rod Stewart.  I usually am not really attracted to blondes, but he is adorable!

You girls know that I will 'mention' that long staircase that Ryan descends on in the beginning of each show .. Please pleas please do away it!  I realize it give the 3 judges time to wave, blow kisses to the crowd  -- hug each other, check themselves out in a mirror, have a smoke, finish their cocktails ..

okay .. so I am adding a little more to it Okay, now that I am done with my rant about Ryan's entrance ..  I was pleased that there are 13 idols.  I see a double elimination coming up in the next few weeks - just to get back to 10 contestants. I am happy with the 'Top 13',  and surely will make for an interesting few months.

It was a bitter sweat moment, when I saw the guy .. karaoke singer, name?, not put thru .. America votes .. remembering that he .. kicked out 'Jacee' the young guy out of his group, during Hollywood week .. curiously, if he is now having second thoughts of being so rude and obonixious.

This will be tough to watch the eliminations next week!  I really like the ones they picked for the most part.  I know who the 13 are.. but need to watch the last hour on DVR.. there was no way I could stay awake that late (I work early in the am :).   I'm excited to see the wildcard performances.. I heard Naomi broke down after hers??

I thought I would miss Simon too.. but I am realizing that I really don't miss the often unnecessary cruelness of his comments to the contestants.   Sure Simon was entertaining.... but so is Steven!! And he doesn't have to be mean to be entertaining!  I'm really liking the new judge panel and am SO glad it's down to 3 and not 4!

I was glad all my favorites made it into the top 10.  I respectfully disagree with all 3 choices the judges made in their wildcard picks though - did not like ANY of them.  I think the guys are much better this year than the girls, but I really like Pia and Lauren (I think that's her name...I'm still learning - the country one).  Scottie is good and so is the rocker guy.  Should be a good season!

I'm also enjoying this year's show. I haven't watched much of it the last couple of years.

Steve Tyler definitly adds some spice to the show, a better spice than Simon! ;)

I wasn't sure myself how JLow would work out, but I'm really enjoying her. She doesn't live far from where I'm living. I haven't ran into her yet, but I heard that we both shop at the same grocery store. This is probably getting to personal, but her OB/GYN that delivered her twins is also mine. Don't think I'll be having any kids, or if I do it'll be a neat trick, since I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago!

Teka, yes, it is WAY too long.  I guess I didn't think that through when I registered hereSmile.  I'm thinking of changing it, if possible and just go by some variation of my first name "Sherrill".

I'm amazed at how poised some of these young contestants are, especially during the live shows.

each singer has their own unique 'vibe',  some R &B,  others country, rock and others top 40 tunes.  A true singer .. will be able to put his/her spin or brand every week ..

    Breaking News

On Wednesday, March 9 8/7c, America's Top 13 will take the stage to perform songs by their favorite artists. Tune in the following night, Thursday, March 10 at 8/7c, to the live results show to see performances by Adam Lambert and Diddy-Dirty Money with Skylar Grey and to find out who receives enough votes to stay in the competition and who is sent home.

Additionally, Season Seven American Idol winner David Cook has recorded the farewell song for the show's 10th season. The song, chosen by American Idol and executive producer Simon Fuller, is a remake of Simple Minds' 1985 smash hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and will air each week as contestants are eliminated on the Thursday results shows.
