Anyone watching Season 10 of American Idol?

Hi,
I think Randy no longer feels the need to keep-up with the other judges. He is now the Old Dog!
-
I do hope .. American Idol revamps .. Ryan walking down the long long staircase .. with all the lights =
Vicki Sam
-
No more sexy cowboy.......nooooo! Btw, i don't blame jlo for crying....she was in a tough spot. I was roooting for medina!
-
Hi!
I'll choose my favorite female and male singer the next time the 24 take the stage.
-
Next week's AI will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
-
If I recall correctly, Girls on Tuesday, Guys on Wednesday .. then the cuts. Thursday's cuts ... 1 from each group, or more ?
Vicki Sam
-
Good question. I thought they just did one cut a week -- lowest score, male or female -- didn't they end up with two guys at the top last year? But I'm not sure. Idol veterans, help!
-
I forgot the females and males are cut separate until the final 10. Right? Chemo brain.
-
I thought at this stage it is boys on Tuesday, girls on Wednesday, cuts on Thursday, with massive cuts all in one week to get to the top 12. But I could be wrong. Maybe they do two weeks of semifinals and cut 3 of each gender, each week?
I just remember last year when Lily, Katelyn, Alex and some others, all got cut on one week.
My current favorites -- Casey (with the base), Robbie (the 17 year old from NY), Tim, Paul, Julie,Rachel, Naima and Karen. But a lot can happen in the next week alone.
Did you hear that Casey is in the hospital? TMZ is reporting that he had a blood transfusion this morning and it's iffy about him being able to be at the taping tonight. If he can't they are saying they will replace him (maybe with Colton? I hated that he didn't make the cut.) Casey went to the hospital with stomach pains yesterday. Maybe an ulcer? Do any of you follow any AI blogs?
-
I'm sorry to say I had to step away from the show this year. I honestly can't stand it. It feels so pre-meditated and I kept getting the nagging feeling that I was being manipulated by the way everything was staged. I like Steven, but really can't stomach JLo.
-
I heard Casey was in the hospital but didn't know why. I love it when he plays the bass.

Top 24.
Will be easier for me if I have face with the name.
Are we voting on Wednesday night/
Not sure about the question ladies.

I'll be able to put names to faces next week when it is the 24. I don't remember if they cut 1 or 2, I'll have to ask my DD or Dgranddaughter. Nini's mind is not as sharp as it used to be, radiation brain Karen

revkat,
If I am reading this clip from the American Idol website correctly, I think you are exactly right... Guys on Tues, Girls on Wed, massive cuts and announcement of the final 12 finalists on Thurs... Yikes... that seems like a lot of cuts, very quickly!
"The 12 male semifinalists take the stage for the first time Tuesday, March 1 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), and the 12 female semifinalists sing their hearts out for America and the judges on the following night Wednesday, March 2 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT). Then, it's the moment you've been waiting for when this season's finalists are announced Thursday, March 3 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX."
-
OK... I kept thinking what I just posted was NOT how I remember the previous years being and that it true. They apparently are doing things a bit differently this year according to this:
"From seasons four to seven, as well as season nine, the 24 semifinalists were divided by gender in order to ensure an equal gender division in the top 12. The men and women sang separately on consecutive nights, and the bottom two in each groups were eliminated each week until only six of each remained to form the top 12.
A "sudden death" semi-final will be introduced in season 10, in which America will vote to select the Idol finalists from among two groups of twelve. The public will choose five girls and five boys for the live shows in the finals. The judges will then choose contestants from the Wild Card round to advance to the finals."
Hmmmm, I had not heard or this change before!
-
Are we gonna vote next Tuesday & Wednesday?
-
seyla - I suppose, but everything is so different this time around! So I guess the judges will pick one male and one female after the voters pick the top 5 from each group. Should be interesting!
I hope Casey is alright - my son pointed out that last year Crystal missed something, yet they rescheduled everything around her illness.
Karen - yes, my memory just doesn't seem to be as good as it was this time last year, either! I think I'm going to have to start exercising my brain or something!
VickiSam - boy, do I hope they do away with Ryan's grand entrance! It's absurd - who's the star here? Ryan? I like him and all, but he's not THAT great - LOL!
So far, my favorite is Julie Zorrilla - the pretty girl whose family came here from Columbia.
I'm sorry we lost our cowboy, John Wayne, but that Scott guy is funny to me. I can't wait to see how he sings some pop song or something!
-
seyla,
I have not ever voted before but I do believe I will this year. They have opened the voting up to facebook
Voting Via Toll-Free Phone Lines, AT&T Text Messaging & Online Begins After First Performance Show Tuesday, March 1, on FOX
more details at: http://www.americanidol.com/news/view/pid/4489/
This season is full of surprises!
Edited: to fix a glaring typo!
-
Thanks for the voting info Seaside.
OMG next Thursday night 12 contestants will be eliminated........
Will be like a drama movie.
heartnsoul last year Crystal was in the hospital so they switched the girls night with the boys.
-
seyla - I just watched that Chris Medina video from the Ryan Seacrest link you provided. It was a beautiful song and video. Best wishes to this young couple.
-
So far I'm loving the show, cried along with some of their sad stories. I can't remember the top 24 names yet, I hope I will soon
Although I liked what they picked, I think there are more talents this year than the other years and they let go of some that should be chosen. Like the last guy that was shown playing the grand piano, was his name Corey? (sorry, can't remember, thought he was pretty good though). It should be great to watch this year! I will be voting!!!
-
Diamondgirl....I put a link for top 24 because i need to study their names.
Its on this page.
-
DiamondGirl - yes, I agree. I thought that last guy was really good - I think his name was Corey, too. Really, it seems like there is SO much more talent this year than the last few years (the year of the two Davids was my favorite year). My hope is that some of the good ones that didn't make the cut will be back next year.
I think AI has a pretty good thing going this year - first time in a while!
-
Seyla, thanks for the link
Heartnsoul, I liked the 2 Davids too, but it seems like David Archulatta (sp) sang with a mild clicking sound in his vocals.
I know for a fact that Canadians can't vote because I have family there, wonder how the FB voting will deal with those issues? I hope they will implement stricter and more sophisticated measures so the voting will be fair. -
I just wanted to quickly say that I have had the honor of meeting Steven Tyler several times in person, and he is just as warm, kind, gentle and loving in real life as he is on the show... If not more.
-
Sweetaerobabe, you are so lucky. Can you give more details?
-
I think Liv Tyler comes across like Dad.
-
It's so cool that Tyler is as wonderful in person as he appears on Idol. I love his voice and kindness!

I actually won an MTV contest back in 94 and had Thanksgiving dinner with the band in a Palace in Berlin Germany. I asked Steven to sign my chest, that I wanted it tattooed, he did and wanted to see it when it was finished. Tim Collins (management at the time) set me up with tickets and passes for the show in Philly the following month. I loved it, he loved it and couldn't believe I did it. I then made friends and managed to meet him about 5 other times since then. It's been a long time now, but I will always have my memories.
