Anyone watching Season 10 of American Idol?

Yeah Sweet!
I knew you'd find your way over here!!!
-
sweetaerobabe - you lucky girl! We all want you to arrange a meeting for us now, k?
When I saw how sweet he was to the injured girlfriend, I thought, "Well, wait, of course he's a sensitive guy. Look how well his kids turned out." I could tell he was a loving father, and I've always liked him - but now I think he's just plain awesome. I hope he stays around for more than one season, but the man's gotta rock 'n roll! I doubt if he'll be back next year...
When all the rockers (and me) were young, they were all saying they would not be touring/recording after 40. I'm so glad they still are, because I still love to go to their concerts.

I am watching from 2:00 PM until the Academy Awards are over, enjoying all the glitz and glamour. James and Anne should make it fun. I need something to brighten up the weekend while waiting for AI next week.
-
Teka .. I am right there with you ... potatoes baking in the oven .. Hubby will start the fire to grill up a few rib eye's .. broccoli and a green salad ...
Easy .. so I can sit here (slight head cold), and veg out watching all the glitz and glamorous folks..
HeartnSoul .. You gotta love this .. I switched over to E .. and Ryan Seacrest is interviewing folks ! When does this guy sleep? He here, there, everywhere!

I think Joan Rivers might have rubbed some Stars the wrong way on the Red Carpet.
-
Does Ryan Seacrest EVER go away? I want whatever he's taking!
I don't ever watch the awards shows, I don't know why. I'm kind of sorry I missed the Grammy's - for once, some of my favorites won. I do look at the pictures of all the gowns and hairstyles later and find out who won in the categories I care about, but it just drags on too long for me.
Probably the only thing I'm sorry I'm missing IS Joan Rivers - she can be ruthlessly funny!
-
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!, so boring which James and Anne couldn't overcome. No hope for the Academy Awards. Just have to enjoy the movies.
-
Teka...I agree with you...no other. shows makes me really happy.
Last year I didn't calculate the days right I was in Hawaii visiting my DD and The Season Finale was the night I was returning back..
I cheated and found out the results before i got to NY and watched the entire show on DVR.
-
Back to AI!
-
Teka .. How boring was the show??? James and Anne's opening was hopeful, then came the presenters .. Poor, Kirk Douglas .. why, or why ? The jokes NOT funny this year, at all. I did enjoy - Russell Brand and Helen Mirrena (bit), otherwise .. I was disenchanted with the entire show ... B O R I N G ..

I like American Idol and have watched since season 4 I think. I am not too good at picking the winner. I was certain that Adam would win last year, and I was wrong.
I'll be there watching.

Gingerbrew .. Love this season of American Idol. The judges are indeed, a much needed change of pace.
I will have to really pay attention this week, and choose my favorites -- I've been pretty spot on when making my yearly selections, with the exception of Adam Lambert.
Great group of singers, this season!

I still can't keep any of the names straight. arggh. Maybe after tonight, I'll have a better idea of who is who.
Love the judges this year!

I woke up this morning and thought "What is today?" and then I remembered "American Idol tonight!"
I slog through the audition shows just so I can see the person who will eventually win, right from the beginning. Tonight is when the fun starts though, IMO.
can't wait!
-
I think 8:00 - 9:30 tonight!
-
Teka .. You may be right, my local cable company has blocked out only 1 hour ... there are so many of them ... I would of thought tonight's episode would take 2 hours ..just me ...

OK Ladies....
1 hour and 15 minutes till Idol for us on the East Coast!!!
Schedule for today and tomorrow 8-9:30.... Thursday is 8-10......
-
Well, I hope my DVR records it right this time since the hours are different. My son swears it will, but it's not perfect. You would not believe the one time it cut the show short - it was the Season 7 finale, right after Ryan announced the winner: DAVID COOK! Then it stopped!!!! We missed all the confetti, and his mother's reaction, the tears, the other contestants coming up to congratulate him. Couldn't find the whole ending anywhere on the internet. We were sick about it!
-
heartandsoul that was my favotite year.
I have the link just enjoy it. i still watch it myself

David Cook .. I adore him. He was a true winner, all that stress of AI, then to have his brother fight brain cancer .. strain and stress of it all. Unimaginable! Kudos to him and that he has accomplished.

OK, here's an expression I never use.... but OMG!!!! Wowser! Some just OK performances tonight, but so many that were so incredible. Nothing like last year! I have my own favorites, and my list of the 6 who I think will make it through tonight (5 plus the judges one). We'll see -- but to those who haven't seen it yet, don't miss a minute!
-
I just voted on-line for James Durbin.
i also have ideas who is going through.
I don't understand the judge's part. Will they bring a sixth contestant back?
-
I thoroughly enjoyed that show tonight. An awful lot of talent up on that stage. Hope the girls are as good tomorrow. Can't imagine which guys are going to go home.....
-
Seyla,
I was thinking the same thing... what part are the judges going to play? Seems America will pick the 5 guys and 5 girls and then the judges will add their "wild card pick(s)". No clue if their picks are 1, 2 or 10? So they're not really playing much of a part, other than to give a critique, until the finals. A very different season from before. James Durbin is definitely on my list!
NatureGrrl,
I agree. The ones that were OK were just that, OK...... BUT the ones that were awesome hit it OUT OF THE PARK!!
I have my list of 6 (couldn't quite get it down to five)... Will be interesting to see if our choices match!
-
My daughter and me really like Paul McDonald. Brett was funny running back into Ryan Seacrest arms.
-
Teka....My first choice was Paul.
But i didnt like his singing tonight. He is adorably cute isnt he?
-
My husband doesn't like AI, but for the 1st time he thought Paul sounded like Rod Stewart. Amazing!
-
Hi there, checking in....
It's been 1 hour after the AI is finished and the phone lines are BUSY!!! I'm wondering if it's really that busy or they got fried? There are sooo many talents this year and how do you pick 5 out of the 12? So far I like :
Clint Gamboa
Brett Loewenstern (top 5 fav)
James Durbin (top 5 fav)
Scotty McCreery
Stephano Langone
Paul McDonald (top 5 fav)
Jacob Lusk (top 5 fav)
Casey Abrams (top 5 fav)
And for the 1st time in 10 years, Jacob Lusk's singing made me weep. Truly the late Luther VanDross would be proud. Although Casey Abrams had my attention captured. So hard to choose.
It's 10:36pm now, I still can't dial through!!
