Titan:  That usually makes me more depressedUndecided, lol!  It's the cold weather.  Spring will be here soon!!!

tnbcRuth:  I was having a conversation with a friend and I was wondering how many of us suffer from Adrenal Exhaustion.  I found a great website that addresses these issues:  www.drlam.com

I was back down to 134 this morning... so I celebrated with a pizza burger and a Napolean.

    Geesh... I am hopeless!

Thanks Mary.  That is one of the sites I visited last night, but read up on it today...also printed some things to take to my pcp.

Heidi-you need to pamper yourself a little longer.

Hey- now that I may have this adrenal thing going on...I have a great excuse for not losing any more weight !!!!  Holding at 148.2, but maybe Monday will bring 147 point anything!!!

tnbcRuth:  Well, know that Adrenal Fatigue is not recognized by the regular medical community.  Why, I have no idea, since I have every single one of the signs of it.  They used to call it a nervous breakdown.  Maybe now they just lump it under "depression", but that just doesn't describe what I have been going through for the last 2 years at all.  I have started following his diet suggestions and also helpful things to get through the night as I have a tendency to not only wake up between 2-4 but to stay awake.  So the last 2 nights I have gotten out of bed and eaten a handful of almonds and this seems to help with me going back to sleep and also my night sweats aren't as difficult.

I want to share this link with everyone.   I found it researching my original diagnosis of adrenal exhaustion.  I was diagnosed with this prior to BC and still continue to have problems with it almost 2 years later.  I am wondering how many of us have adrenal fatige due to chemo and this is the most helpful and informative site I have found on the issue:  http://www.drlam.com/

I haven't checked in here in awhile, and I also hadn't weighed myself in awhile, until this morning. I had a feeling it wouldn't be good because all my pants have been feeling tighter - and I was right. I'm up 5 pounds! Now I'm 144 :(  This is as heavy as I was before my diagnosis.

I'm not sure what's up. I'm trying to make a more conscious effort to eat healthy, more fruits and vegetables instead of meats, brown rice instead of white, exercise every night... Something's not working. And now we have another cake in the house, ahhhh! Here come a2 more pounds... getting kind of disgusted with myself.

Minxie-Maybe its adrenal fatigue... lol...one symptom is inability to lose weight !!!

Thanks Mary for posting that link.  It was helpful.  Soooo, Monday when I call, I won't mention 'adrenal fatigue'...just ask them to test me again.  I hope they find something that they can FIX!

Frustrating, isn't it? I just spent over 3 hours "walking" for my Naturalist class. I feel like I've been run over by a truck, but I didn't want to miss the Field Trip.

Didn't weigh myself because I have been eating so-so lately not bad but not good either. It's almost impossible to stay on the straight. Urgh.

    No report over here...

Down 2 lbs. Now that I'm in the final month countdown till my exchange, I'm determined to get these 10 lbs off (well, 8 now!) I've been doing the South Beach diet and have been very good. Gym tonight. Woot!

tnbcRuth:  Chronic Fatigue is sometimes inter-changeable with Adrenal Exhaustion.  At least some of the medical community has heard of this.

I don't even want to know what I weigh today, as everything fits tight.  So, tomorrow is another day.

Okay, I weigned myself this morning and I was up two pounds but was down one last week.  I think I might have been retaining a little extra fluid this morning because there's no way I've eaten enough to gain weight...especially since I've been failthfully exercising and watching what I eat.

I complained to a friend tonight that it seems everyone here is having a hard time losing ANY weight.  She reminded me that the pre-chemo steroids stay in your system for up to a year....so they might be sabatoging our efforts.  I have really worked hard doing South Beach, but I'm not getting anywhere.  From the last couple of posts, neither is anyone else.  GRRRRR

Funny, I was thinking the same thing... that we are all experiencing problems. I, for one, can't seem to get below 134 regardless of what I do and, to make things worse, I seem to bounce up 3-4 pounds FOR NO REASON. It is a bit inexplicable to me and it *is* discouraging.  Hadn't heard about the chemo connection and I've been done for a little over a year now.

I blame it on this weather and not being able to consistently get out and stay active. Even my swimming has gotten off-track due to my knee surgery. Tonight was so windy/rainy I just didn't feel like leaving the house, though I imagine I'll go tomorrow, as I do enjoy it.

I had lunch with a friend today and only had a taco salad... no cocktail and no dessert. I have also cut back on my chocolate--- @ 5 M&M w/pretzels at night. Once I get out of the "habit" I find it relatively easy to refrain from getting too piggish with chocolate.

I wear size 6-8 now (10 on occassion) and really dispair of ever getting my size 4 back unless I cut off my head. That's the fastest way to do it I think, and I don't use my head much anymore anyway...

Ok Its been over 15 months since last chemo and steroids.  So I cannot use that as an excuse.  Plain and simple....I have been putting too much food in my mouth too many times each day. I give myself and "A" for exercise and an "F" for what I ate this week.  Heidi log me in for 172.  Yep, that is 2 more pounds than last week.  Time for some tough love directed at myself.

    Geez, I am disgusted.   WTF

Well, I think I have finally gotten through to my husband because he is not buying anymore temptations, is back to making more veggie dishes, and giving me smaller portions. I'm hoping that helps.

Sugar- maybe you're losing fat but gaining muscle. That's what I did a few years back--- took me by surprise too. Eventually my body showed the benefit with a smoother, more toned body. Damn, it felt good to be noticed by men again! I want that feeling back!

Good news!  I found the Pretzel M&M's here in Canada...but I was good and didn't buy them.  I am going to try them, though, next time I go to the movies with my daughter! Okay...back to the Kale Chips!

Great now I have something to blame it on STEROIDS Kiss Lovely. If I can just maintain until the steroids leave my system that would be great.

Speaking of steroids I plan on throwing out all my pre-chemo meds tonight and cursing them and telling to never come in my house AGAIN. Yell

Well, at least I now have steroids to blame!!!  Really, I think I would have to just about eliminate all food except for vegis if I want to lose anything, and it's just so boring to eat that way.  I love to cook, I love food, and I just don't know what to do.  Bleh!!!

Hi All - just checking in after a long break from the board - finally feeling better with new anti-nausea meds and have more energy during the day.  I have been bouncing around between 170 and a bit higher but officially on Monday I am down at 173 - not great, but a few pounds down from where I had been at diagnosis.  Now that I'm feeling better I'm definitely getting a bit more exercise so hope that will help.  My husband joined the gym at his work and lost 5 pounds the first week - so not fair!!

Hang in everyone and don't beat yourself up!  I keep telling myself that slow weight loss is more likely to stay off than a crash diet (rationalization? maybe but it's working for me!).
